In this season we are walking through sorting out what is truth and what isn’t can be difficult.
Fear and uncertainty are all around us.
And we have a choice moment by moment about what we are going to believe.
Will we believe the truth of God's overflowing, infinite love and care for us?
Will we walk in the abundance of His mercy and forgiveness?
Will we choose FREEDOM?
Will we choose LIFE?
June 12, 2024 Our prayer for our loved one today:
Deuteronomy 30:19-20 NIV [19] This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live [20] and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life...
Lord, we come before you today grateful because YOU have the words of eternal life. Lord, today you have set before each of us a choice. Lord, you have set before (our loved one) the choice of life or death, blessings or curses. Lord, we pray that (our loved one) would CHOSE LIFE, so that (he/she) and (his/her) entire family would LIVE, Lord...really live!! We pray that (our loved one) would love You, would listen to your voice and would hold fast to you! For in YOU there is LIFE!!! Lord, we believe this and agree with your word today. We ask these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen!

May He Give You Peace
In the middle of the difficulties it is often so hard to stop and look at our loved one as a valued human being. We are often so at war with them that everything becomes about the battle or about the saving and the loving is pushed back.
So this morning, let's stop for a moment and just close our eyes and picture our loved ones the way God does. Whole and healed and lovable.
And then let's pray this blessing over them this morning.
June 11, 2024 Our prayer for our loved one today:
Numbers 6:24-26 NLT [24] 'May the Lord bless you and protect you. [25] May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. [26] May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.'
Lord today our hearts are filled with love for You because you are the author of life. Our hearts are filled with love for (our loved one) because you divinely appointed us to be (our loved one's) mom. Lord today we pray blessings over (our loved one). Lord we ask in love that you bless (our loved one) and protect (him/her). Lord will you smile on (our loved one)) and be gracious to (him/her). Lord will you show Your favor on (our loved one) and more than anything today will you give (him/her) the peace that passes understanding. Lord thank you that you are the Holy One who IS love!

Love Out of Abundance
I remember trying...
Trying so hard to love my prodigal.
Striving in my own strength to manufacture the love that I needed to muster up to do life with him.
I failed.
Almost daily I failed.
The more I failed the more I realized just how exorbitant God’s love was for me. In spite of myself, he loved me beyond my wildest imagination.
When I grasped that, I was able to love my prodigal out of the overflow of all the love He has for me.
If you can grasp this one thing today....
Know how very much he loves you. And you will be able to love out of that abundance.

Ephesians 3:14-19 NIV [14] For this reason I kneel before the Father, [15] from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. [16] I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, [17] so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, [18] may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, [19] and to know this love that surpasses knowledge---that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Lord, we kneel before you today Father, at times distant, at times skeptical, mostly desperate. Lord, we long to feel your presence Lord and even more we long for (our loved one) to feel you near to (him/her). Lord, we pray today that out of Your glorious riches, you would strengthen (our loved one) in (his/her) inner being, with the power of your Spirit, so that Christ would dwell in (his/her) heart through faith. Lord, I pray that (our loved one) through Your power would grasp today, in this moment, just how wide, how long, how high and how deep Your exorbitant love is for (him/her). Lord, I pray that (he/she) would know, deep in (his/her) spirit, that it's this love and this power that will get (him/her) through this day. Lord, we ask today that you would fill (our loved one) with the FULL measure of You! Lord, we believe through this love (our loved one) can conquer anything. Joy and Peace
One moment...
One moment in his suffering he walked in the doors of the healing room for prayer.
And God met him there.
In this young man’s deepest pain, the God of hope filled him with all joy and peace...
He filled him with hope and set him free.
My friends... in your own suffering, as you put your hope in Him, I pray that you too, would be filled to overflowing with power, with joy and with His perfect peace.
And I pray that our own loved ones would have a similar encounter. One that will bring them peace.

Romans 15:13 NIV [13] May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Abba Daddy, we thank you because you are a good, good daddy. Everything good and perfect comes from You. And we thank you that we don't have to walk this difficult journey alone. Lord, today we pray that You, the God of hope would fill (our loved one) with hope. Fill (him/her) with the joy and peace that can only come when (he/she) trusts in You. Lord, we pray that the power of the Holy Spirit would touch (our loved one) so that (he/she) would overflow with HOPE today. Touch (our loved one) Lord. Draw us all to you today. Not accusations
No weapon...
No weapon can prevail!
That is not our heritage.
Our legacy is life.
Our weapons are the word of God and the Power of the Living God.

Philippians 4:8-9 MSG [8-9] Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious---the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.
Heavenly Father, we thank you today that you are always good, that you are the giver of all things wonderful. I confess that I often take my eyes off of that truth, that I don’t always see the good in my life or my loved one. Lord, today I ask that I would purpose to fix my eyes on the beautiful and look for the miracles in this day, in this moment. I pray that you would give me those eyes to see the beauty in [our loved one] as well. I praise you for [our loved one] and thank you for [his/her] value, regardless of [his/her] circumstances. Hope In Your Heart
Dealing with a struggling loved one day after day can be so difficult. We grow weary.
We grow tired. We lose hope.
The word says we WILL have troubles. We will have difficulties. We will become worn out, pressed down and ready to quit.
And we will quit...unless we hold on to this truth, this hope.
That HE has overcome darkness and death. It's already been done. All he asks of us is to receive. To receive his love, his power, his strength.
I pray His light will pour into you today, sweet friends and breathe new hope into your heart.

John 16:33 NIV [33] “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Lord, thank you today that you are fighting for us. You have this battle that is raging around us, in your hands. Lord, thank you that because of the precious words you have written to us we can have perfect peace! Lord thank you too that peace WILL come for (our loved one). Lord this world holds pain and heartache and trouble for (our loved one). Lord (he/she) is suffering right now. But Lord we DO take heart. We will not lose hope because through YOU we believe that (our loved one) will overcome the strongholds that entangle (him/her). Lord we believe that VICTORY is yours Lord and we thank you that it's guaranteed. The final word of the final sentence of the final chapter has already been written. Love Will Lead Them Home
In the middle of all of the ugly...
It is so easy to forget to thank God for all that we have. And if we were to be honest, it's sometimes hard just to find things to thank God for with our loved one.
But we must do it anyway...
Focus on who they are in Christ, who God created them to be...
It is the one sure way to change our heart...
From anxiety to peace...
From anger to calm...
And from the darkness of hate to the light of love...
Because love will lead them home.

I Will Always Have Hope
Someone asked me recently what I perceived my most important mission to be? My answer was that one of the most important things that has gotten me through the darkest times in my life, is camping on the word HOPE.
As I was thinking about this, I thought how so many of us get to the place where we have at times, struggled with finding hope. I know many of you today would say you are losing hope.
And I think about those out there who are caught up in a lifestyle of oppression and darkness. Living in a way no one could have even possibly imagined years ago, least of all themselves.
And I wonder....is there hope anywhere in their thinking? Is there a spark?
So today, my prayer is that God himself, or someone he sends would whisper hope into our loved ones lives. Lord, breath hope into the lives today of those that have no hope.
June 4, 2024 Our prayer for our loved one today:
Psalm 71:14 NIV [14] As for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more.
Abba daddy, we come before you today with longing. Longing for more of your love. Longing for more of your power. Longing for more of your peace. And longing for more of the hope that only you can give. Lord, we ask today that you would fill us. Fill us to overflowing with hope. The hope that comes from knowing that you are a good daddy and that your promises are true. And Lord, today we pray that You would come to (our loved one) and whisper hope in (his/her) ear as well. Fill (him/her) with the power that comes from having even a tiny bit of hope. Lord, we praise You today because we trust You and we know Your promises will be fulfilled. Lord, we look forward to the day when (our loved one) will praise you as well! Our trust and confidence is in You. We ask these things in Your Son’s precious name. Amen!

Becoming Strong
Over the years as I've read these verses it's so easy to think in terms of others or of the really "BIG" sins in our life. Today as you pray this for your loved one I challenge you to think of the "little" things that we do that we repeat over and over. For me it's jumping to conclusions (the way out is to stop and breathe and not make assumptions). It's to over-react (again, slow down before I speak). Maybe it's a swear word that flies out of my mouth when I'm mad (oops - that darn mouth always gets me in trouble). It is often to go to the diet coke or food when I'm stressed (not necessary and not the answer to the problem). Or my big one is to worry way too much about what other people think.
And God promises to help us to overcome any struggle, any stronghold, any temptation in our life. Wow! Now all I have to do is LET Him! That's part of my recovery program. To give all of this yuck back to God
So I ponder these verses today as the apply to my life and I pray them for my loved ones as they apply to their lives.
June 3, 2024 Our prayer for our loved one today
1 Corinthians 10:13 But remember this—the wrong desires that come into your life aren’t anything new and different. Many others have faced exactly the same problems before you. And no temptation is irresistible. You can trust God to keep the temptation from becoming so strong that you can’t stand up against it, for he has promised this and will do what he says. He will show you how to escape temptation’s power so that you can bear up patiently against it.
Lord God, our hearts are burdened for our loved ones. Lord, to whom can we go but You. You hear our broken cries. Lord, we pray today on behalf of (our loved one). Lord, we know that the wrong desires that have come into (our loved one’s) life aren't anything new and different to you. We know that others have faced and conquered these very same problems. And NO temptation that could come before (our loved one) is irresistible. Lord, we pray that (our loved one) would trust You when (his/her) temptation is so strong that (he/she) feels that (he/she) can't stand up against it. Lord, we know that your promises are true and you promise that you will provide (our loved one) a way to escape temptations power and bear up against it if (he/she) simply calls out to you. Lord, we pray that (our loved one) would whisper the words "help me Jesus" today. We pray this in your son's holy name. Amen!

Love Never Fails
Today, may you grasp how much he loves you.
He loves you fully. He loves you in the heaviness, the fear, the doubt and the resignation.
And as he loves us, so we are called to love fully in the messiness of it all.
Because love never fails.

1 Corinthians 13:7 ESV [7] Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Merciful Father, we come to you today knowing….knowing how much you love us. Knowing how much you believe in us. Knowing how much you desire that each one of us step into the fullness you have for us in this life. Lord we ask that you would give is the strength to bear up under the load we are carrying, the imagination to believe the goodness of heaven on Earth today, the power of hope in the restoration of our family and the perseverance to endure any struggle that comes our way today. We pray for [our loved one] today. [He/she] is carrying a boulder that is far too heavy for [him/her]. Give [him/her] the strength to bear up under the weight of all that [he/she] is carrying today. Lord, we ask that you will fill [our loved one’s] mind with the dreams and visions for [his/her] future that you have given [him/her] so [he/she] can begin to walk in that truth. We pray that you would fill [our loved one’s] heart to overflowing with the hope that only begins to well up as a result of your love. And we ask that you would fill [our loved one’s] spirit with the determination to endure through the struggles, knowing that just beyond this mountain [he/she] is climbing are your streams of living water. Surrender
I read these verses this morning and I just thought, this is perfect for us. Jesus is looking at each of us, who might think that somehow WE will be the one to get them into a rehab or off the streets or that somehow by our power we are going to be the one who saves them.
But when we have stepped out of the way, I have seen God do things beyond what we could have ever imagine.
If you think you can pull this off in your own strength or by your actions, he's saying “nope, not going to happen.”
However, we have every chance in the world if we trust God to do it.
That is surrender...
June 1, 2024 Our Prayer for Our Loved One today:
Matthew 19:26 MSG [26] Jesus looked hard at them and said, "No chance at all if you think you can pull it off yourself. Every chance in the world if you trust God to do it."
Abba daddy.....oh Lord, I come to you today because I know that I am getting in your way Lord. I admits that I want to be the one to save but I know that job belongs to you and you alone. Lord, I realize that while I can be a tool for you to use, I do not have the power to transform (my loved one). But you do Lord. Lord today help me to trust you with (my loved one's) life. I surrender (him/her) at the foot of the cross. (He/she) belongs to you Lord. Lord, I ask for the strength to walk through today in cooperation with you. Lord, I DO trust you Lord. And I thank you for the work you are doing in my life. I pray this prayer in your Son's Holy Name. Amen

You Are Set Apart
Each morning I take time and space to sit on my chair with my cup of coffee and reflect on my life. It’s also a time when I choose to practice gratitude. I believe the enemy wants to distract us from finding joy and love and peace.
In the middle of difficult times, it’s easy to lose sight of the gifts we have been giving.
It's raining out? Thank God you have a roof over your head.
Your car has broken down? Thank God that you have 2 feet and can walk somewhere.
And no matter what’s going on with you or your loved one, by the sheer nature of the fact that God created you, you are loved and you, my friend are HIGHLY valued. And so is your loved one.
And He is on your side. He wants only good for you and your family.
Today I am choosing to see my loved one as God sees Him.
Thanking God that He loves perfectly. And learning to love like Him.

Lord, thank you. Thank you that You are the God of the universe and the God of the smallest organism and the God of (my loved one). Lord I thank you that you created (our loved one) perfectly and wonderfully. I thank you that before (he/she) was even conceived You KNEW (him/her). Lord thank you that (our loved one) is set apart. You have a plan. You have a purpose for (his/her) life. You have appointed (our loved one) to do specific things for your kingdom. Lord, I pray that (our loved one) would, through something or someone, see you today. That (he/she) would experience Your love. And that today would be the day (he/she ) would begin to understand how much You love (him/her). We pray this in Your son's precious name. Amen!

Father God, there is one thing that I ask of you today, one thing that I seek; that [our loved one] would dwell in your house all of the rest of the days of [his/her] life, that [our loved one] would gaze upon your beauty and that [our loved one] would seek you in your holy temple. I pray that in [our loved one’s] moments of trouble that you would keep [him/her] safe in your dwelling place; that you would protect [our loved one] in the shelter of Your sacred tent and that You would set [our loved one] high upon a rock. Fire…

The clearing out for all that’s new.
You might be in the middle of the fire today. The burning off.

Lord, we come before you this today with expectation and hope in our hearts. We thank you that you are real and your promises are true. Lord, we believe that you go before us, you are with us and you go behind us. We are in the middle of the flood and the fire. Lord, [our loved one] is in the middle of the flood and fire. But you promise that you will bring [our loved one] through these trying times. Lord, we thank you! We thank you that one day [our loved one] will walk out of the fire and into a place of great abundance. That out of the ashes of our lives, something truly beautiful will be reborn. Never Lose Hope
This season we are in may look like a tragedy to you.
Road blocks.
Dead ends.
One difficult situation after another.
Yet, we don't know the thoughts that go through our loved ones heads. We can't hear their hearts cry. But God does. He hears them and He sees their tears. And He will be faithful to rescue them when they call out to Him.
We never know when that moment will come. It may come in the middle of the most unlikely circumstances.
And it is why we can never lose hope.
May 24, 2024 Our prayer for our loved one today:
Psalm 3:3-5,8 NIV [3] But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. [4] I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain. [5] I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me. [8] From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.
Oh Lord, thank you that you are a God who loves us and cares for us and loves our children even more than we do. Lord, we ask today that you be a shield around (our loved one). Lord, lift (our loved one's) head high today. Lord, when (our loved one) calls out to you we pray that you answer (him/her) from your Holy Mountain! Lord, when (our loved one) lies down to sleep let (him/her) awake anew because You sustain (him/her). Lord from YOU comes deliverance for (our loved one). Something New
A new day.

[18] "But forget all that- it is nothing compared to what I am going to do[19] For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland[20] Yes, I will make rivers in the dry wasteland so my chosen people can be refreshed.
Father God, we come before you today trusting. Trusting that your promises are real and true. When we can't hold on to anything else, we hold on to that. We know that nothing can compare to what you are going to do in [our loved one's] life! We believe that you are about to do something new, something amazing in [our loved one]. Yes Lord! It has already begun. Lord, we believe that you will make a pathway through the wilderness so that [our loved one] can find you. And you will create rivers in the dry wasteland of [his/her] life so that [our loved one] will be refreshed and made new in you. We believe that you are at work right now to restore our lives and our families to the abundant promised land you have waiting for all of us. Lord, we are thankful. We pray this promise and agree with it in your Son's precious name. Amen

Beautiful in His eyes
Sometimes we get so caught up in the ugly, that we don't see our loved ones the way God sees them.
But they are precious. They are a gift. They are beautiful in his eyes.
And God sent His own child to be sacrificed so that our loved ones could be saved. So that they can experience abundant life on this Earth and eternally.
Thanking God for that promise today and praying this will be the day our loved ones will whisper "save me."

Isaiah 12:2-5 NLT [2] See, God has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The LORD GOD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory." Let them know how mighty he is! [5] Sing to the LORD, for he has done wonderful things. Make known his praise around the world.
Sweet Heavenly Father, we are so grateful to sit at your feet today and praise you and thank you for ALL the good you give us so graciously and we thank you for the gift of (our loved one). Lord, we believe that Your desire, your very heart is to save (our loved one)! Lord, we know that (he/she)is afraid, that (he/she) is struggling today. We pray that (he/she) would trust You and would not be afraid to surrender (his/her) everything to you today! Lord, You are our strength and our song and in You (our loved one) will have VICTORY!. Lord, may (our loved one) drink deeply from the fountain of your saving power! We believe and trust that in that wonderful day (our loved one) will sing "Thank you Lord!" And (he/she)) would make known to others all the wonderful things that You have done in (his/her) life. We believe and do not doubt! We trust in your promises today and we pray all of these things in your might name! Amen!

Trust in the Lord
As I've walked through this journey with my loved one, I have had to learn that God's ways are not man's ways, nor are they at all my ways.
Most of the time I don't understand.
I know that you all have big questions as well. Lot's of whys? Things we will never know the answer to, this side of heaven.
So many times I have had to wrestle with God. To work through the process of surrender and to truth. It doesn't come natural for any of us. But I have learned that it is the path to abundant life.
Praying today for you, as you wrestle through your questions for God. And praying today for our loved ones. That they would finally come to that place of total surrender.
May 21, 2024 Our prayer for our loved one today:
Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV
[5] Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; [6]
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
Lord, God your word says that if we delight ourselves in you, you will give us the desires of our heart. Lord, our desire is this...that (our loved one) would trust in YOU Lord, with all of (his/her) heart. That (our loved one) would not lean on (his/her) own understanding. Lord, we pray today that in all of (our loved one's) ways they would submit to You Lord and that You would make (his/her) path straight. Lord, we ask for these simple things today in your Son's precious name! Amen

Fighting the Good Fight
They fight…
They fight to stop.
They fight to feel normal.
They fight to breathe another day…
We fight.
We fight to love them radically
We fight to surrender them to the only one who can truly save them
We fight to live in a place of peace
We fight to not die with them.
And today...
Know that He died for the fight. He died so that we would be filled with the strength and power to continue to fight.
Praying today that we all continue to fight the good fight.
May 20, 2024 Our prayer for our loved one today:
2 Timothy 4:7-8 NIV [7] I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith[8] Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day---and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
Abba daddy, we sit at your feet today, pressed in because that is where our strength comes from. We know that You are a good and merciful God. We pray today that [our loved one] would continue, minute by minute, to fight the good fight. We pray that [he/she] would have the strength to walk through the tasks set before [him/her]. Lord, fill [him/her] to overflowing with the faith that only you can give [him/her]. We pray that [our loved one] would grasp the hope that comes with the battle, that this is for [his/her] freedom. But it isn't just freedom for this moment in time, but a freedom that will last for eternity. Father, wrap [our loved one] up in Your love and Your power and Your grace today. In Your son's precious name we pray. Amen
