You Are Called to be Free

We don't have to be a slave to worry, fear, anger and addiction. In Him we have peace. In Him we have pure love and through his power we can supernaturally love others.

YOU my friend, we called to be free!

Praying the breaking of chains this morning over our lives and over our loved ones lives!

October 20, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Galatians 5:1,13A NIV [1] It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. [13] You, my brothers and sisters were called to be free!

Thank you Lord! Thank you that You love us beyond measure! Thank you that You had a perfect plan for each one of us to live freely when You sent Your son. He was broken so we could be healed. He came to set me free and He came to set (our loved one) free! Lord, my prayer today is that (our loved one) would embrace that freedom. I pray (he/she) would stand firm today and allow you to remove, once and for all, the yoke of slavery from (his/her) shoulders, never again to bear that burden. Lord, I pray that (our loved one) would step into the inheritance that you gave (him/her) when You sacrificed Your son on the cross, that (he/she) is called to be free! Lord, we praise You today for Your power to break every chain! We pray this in Jesus precious name! Amen

Truth

The lies of the enemy will hold us captive.

“I am a failure”

“I am not good enough”

“I caused these problems.”

“This will never change.”

Freedom comes when we believe the truth.

The truth is....God LOVES you!

The truth is....God LOVES your prodigal more than you do!

The truth is....there is NO condemnation through Christ!!!

The truth is....He is able to break any and every chain!!!

The truth is...NO weapon forged against you or your loved one’s can prevail.

Believe these truths and you will walk in FREEDOM today!!!

October 19, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today.

John 8:32 NIV [32] Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Lord, we come to You in love and adoration today with a heart of gratitude. Because Your word gives us hope! Lord, we know in our hearts that we can fully put our trust in You and You alone. Today we pray that you will reveal TRUTH to us and to (our loved one). Lord, we believe that where Your truth exists, chains will be broken and (our loved one) will be set free! Lord, we pray against any lies that we or (our loved one) might be believing. Lord, give us clarity and purpose and give us the power and strength to walk in that truth today. We pray this in your son's precious name! Amen.

Lead Them Home

Yeah....this.

THIS is as real as it gets...

Pain...

Darkness..

The lost causes...

The abandoned...

The hopeless cases...

And then, the quiet whisper of our Abba Daddy that says...

I love you.  I am with you.   I have redeemed you.

May you hear that whisper today.   May your loved one hear that whisper today.

And may they whisper back…

“Yes Lord. Lead me home.”

October 18, 2018  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 88:1-8, 89:1 MSG [1-8] God, you're my last chance of the day. I spend the night on my knees before you. Put me on your salvation agenda; take notes on the trouble I'm in. I've had my fill of trouble; I'm camped on the edge of hell. I'm written off as a lost cause, one more statistic, a hopeless case. Abandoned as already dead, one more body in a stack of corpses, And not so much as a gravestone--- I'm a black hole in oblivion. You've dropped me into a bottomless pit, sunk me in a pitch-black abyss. I'm caught in a maze and can't find my way out, blinded by tears of pain and frustration.  Your love, God, is my song, and I'll sing it!  I'm forever telling everyone how faithful you are.  I'll never quit telling the story of your love.

Lord God, we cry out to you today because you are our last chance.  Day and night we are on our knees before you on behalf of [our loved one].  Lord, we ask that you put [our loved one] on your salvation agenda, taking note of the trouble [he/she] is in.  My heart knows that [our loved one] has had [his/her] fill of trouble.  [He/She] is camped on the edge of hell.  Most have written [him/her] off as a lost cause, as one of the statistics, as a hopeless case.  Lord, many have abandoned [our loved one] as already dead, one more body one more statistic.  Lord [our loved one] is in a black hole today, in a bottomless pit.  [He/she] is caught in a maze of destruction that [he/she] can't get out of.  [He/She] is blinded by tears of pain and frustration.  But Lord, we believe in your precious love.  We believe you will save [our loved one].  You are faithful and one day [our loved one] will sing of your love and never quit telling the story of how you saved [him/her].  Lord, we pray this prayer today with confidence!  We ask these things in your mighty, mighty name.  Amen.

From Darkness to Light

In the middle of all of the ugly...

It is so easy to forget to thank God for all that we have. And if we were to be honest, it's sometimes hard just to find things to thank God for with our loved one.

But we must do it anyway...

Focus on who they are in Christ, who God created them to be...

It is the one sure way to change our heart...

From anxiety to peace...

From anger to calm...

And from the darkness of hate to the light of love...

Because love will lead them home.

October 17, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Ephesians 1:16-18 NLT [16] I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, [17] asking God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God[18] I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called-his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.

Lord, I will not stop giving thanks to You for my [loved one]. I will pray for [him/her] constantly. I ask today that you would give [our loved one] spiritual wisdom and insight so that [our loved one] might come to a knowledge of you. I pray that [our loved one's] heart will be flooded with light so that [our loved one] can understand the confident hope that you can give [our loved one] because you have given [loved one] a rich and glorious inheritance! Thank you Lord for the work you are doing in [our loved one's] life. We pray this today in Your Son's Precious and Holy Name! Amen!

Nothing Can Seperate Us

We can conquer anything. Not in our own power but through the power of a living, loving God.

And NOTHING can separate us from that love. Nothing we do or don’t do. Not anger, not fear, not any mistake we have made. Nothing.

And who God loves, he fights for my friend.

And He is fighting for you today.

And He is fighting for the least of these.

That is hope.

October 15, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Romans 8:37-39 NIV [37] No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us[38] For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, [39] neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Lord, we come before you today grateful. Grateful for your promises and for your son's death on the cross. Because we believe these words are truth. That in ALL things [our loved one] can be more than a conqueror because you love [him/her] immensely! Lord, we are convinced that NOTHING...not death or life, angels or demons, not the present or the future or ANY powers; not heights or depths or anything else in all of creation could ever separate [our loved one] from your love that is in Christ Jesus. Lord, it is easy to love the lovable, but there are days when we are unlovable and [our loved one] is unlovable. We thank you that your love is constant and exorbitant and never-ending. We pray today that [our loved one] will feel that love raining down on [him/her]. And we ask that you fill our hearts with that kind of love for [our loved one]. We thank you and praise you and ask these things in Jesus precious name. Amen!!!

Only One Can Do The Savings

Not long ago I had the delusion that if I did something different, if I would have been different, if I controlled more or monitored more or played more or loved more...

that somehow I could do the saving.

But over the years I've learned that's not up to me.

There is only one that can do the saving and one who can asked to be rescued.

Scary to surrender. But a relief to know the saving isn't up to me. And what was entirely impossible for me...

Is entirely possible with God.

October 13, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Mark 10:26-27 NIV [26] The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, “Who then can be saved?” [27] Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”

Lord, we come to you today humbled. Humbled because we've tried to do the saving and it just hasn't worked. Humbled because we realize that we don't have that kind of control or that kind of power. And humbled because we know the only hope for saving is through you. Lord, we believe in our hearts that You are the only one who can save (our loved one). And that one day, (he/she) will whisper "rescue me Lord." We recognize that without You, this is impossible, but with You ALL things are possible. Lord we thank you that You are able to bring about in (our loved one's) life what we can not. Lord we surrender (our loved one) to You. And we thank you for what you are about to do. We pray this in your Son's precious name. Amen.

Come Into The Light

Freedom isn't a state of our physical circumstances, it's a condition of our heart and our spirit. We can be physically free, but in total bondage. And we can be in physical chains and experience total freedom.

Today I pray that we all step into the freedom that is ours when we fully rely on and trust the One who is truly in control.

When we surrender....we become free.

October 13, 2018. Our prayer for our loved one today:

Isaiah 49:9 NLT [9] I will say to the prisoners, 'Come out in freedom,' and to those in darkness, 'Come into the light.'

Abba daddy, we come before you today because we know that you are our living water, our source of life and hope. That when all else feels like it's crumbling around us, you are holding us together. Lord, thank you that you desire freedom! Freedom for any of us who are sitting in the darkness today. Lord, I pray that you would plant a seed of desire in (our loved one's) heart today for freedom Lord, as (he/she) lives in the darkness. And we pray today that you will whisper into (our loved one's) heart "come into the light." Lord, we pray that today will be the day that (our loved one) would make that decision to step into the freedom of your light. Lord, we believe that you are at work, in our lives, in our loved one's life. Today we choose to trust you completely, knowing that you desire restoration for all of us. We pray these words today in your Son's precious name. Amen.

There is One

When death is all around us and we feel that fear.

When we are in a pit so deep we can’t seem to claw our way out.

When we are mourning the loss of all that we believed would be, the shattering of dreams we once held tightly to.

When there is nowhere to turn…

There is ONE.  The one who can calm our fears.  The one who can lift us out of the pit.  The one who can comfort.

The One who turns our wailing into dancing, turns our mourning to joy and turns our weeping to songs of praise.

October 12, 2018  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 30:2-3,11-12 NIV [2] Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me[3] You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit[11] You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, [12] that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. Lord my God, I will praise you forever.

Father God, we come to you today with confidence in our heart that You are a God that hears our prayers and answers them.  We know that You are the same God yesterday, today and always.   A God with the power to transform.  Lord, we pray that today [our loved one] would call on you for help and that you will heal [him/her].  We ask that you will bring [our loved one] up from the realm of the dead, that you will spare [him/her] from going down into the pit.  Lord, we believe today that you will turn [our loved one’s] wailing into dancing; that you will remove [his/her] sackcloth of mourning and clothe [our loved one] with joy, that [his/her] heart will sing Your praises and never be silent.  We pray that [he/she] will praise you forever.  We believe that this vision will be fulfilled in your perfect timing and we pray these things in Your Son's precious name.  Amen

He Has Not Forgotten You

I know....

You are feeling lost, alone and forgotten by God today.

You are wondering where He is...

You feel hopeless...

But He has a word for you, for me, for our loved ones...

A promise....

Not one...

Not one of his children...

Is forgotten.

He is fighting for you right now...

And He is fighting for your loved one right now.

That is hope.

October 10, 2018 Our prayer for our Loved One today:

Isaiah 49:15-16,25-26 GNT [15] So the LORD answers, "I will never forget you[16] Jerusalem, I can never forget you! I have written your name on the palms of my hands[25] The LORD replies, "I will fight against whoever fights you, and I will rescue your children[26] Then all people will know that I am the LORD, the one who saves you and sets you free. They will know that I am Israel's powerful God."

Father God, we come before you today with heavy hearts, feeling lost, feeling alone, feeling like the forgotten ones because we love the forgotten ones. Lord, we look to you for comfort and peace. Thank you that your promises bring us hope. Thank you that you will never forget [our loved one]. Lord, you created [our loved one] and you have written [his/her] name on the palm of your hand. How wonderful and precious that is! Thank you that you are waging a battle for [our loved one] right now and that you will fight against whoever fights [him/her]. Lord, rescue [him/her]. Lord, rescue me. We believe in your power to defeat the enemies that oppress [our loved one]. You are the God who has the power to save [our loved one] and to set [him/her] free. We are believing you today for that powerful VICTORY!!! In your son's precious name we pray! Amen

He Will Restore

In the middle of the muck and the difficulties and the ugly, it's really hard to see when or how or where things are going to end. Hard to visualize things getting better. Hard to picture our loved one free and healthy and living in abundance.

But we have to or we will lose heart. That is faith.

Today I will pray these verses that promise us that we WILL share in His glory, that our loved one will share in His glory. And after walking through the fire...

He will restore them.

He will support them.

He will strengthen them.

And he will place them on a firm foundation.

So we can look down the road and choose to look at the future in one of 2 ways. Either the way it is now or the way we believe God will have it be one way.

I look down the road and see an amazing life for our loved one. A life filled with provision, with love and with a radical faith.

That is the miracle of hope.

October 9, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

1 Peter 5:10 NLT

[10] In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.

Lord God, you are all loving, all powerful and all kind. And in Your amazing kindness, you have called [our loved one] to share in Your eternal glory through your son Christ Jesus, who died for us. Lord [our loved one] is suffering. [He/She] is hurting. We believe your promise today that [our loved ones] suffering will end and at that glorious time you will restore, support and strengthen [our loved one]. You will place [him/her] on the firm foundation of your love and grace and mercy. Lord we believe this promise today. We pray with confidence that this will come to pass in your perfect timing. In Your Son's name we pray. Amen

He Will Strengthen

A prayer of deliverance and protection today. Lord please move our loved ones from death to life.

And Lord, may they have a love encounter with you. We ask that their hearts be filled to overflowing with the love and perseverance of Christ!

October 8, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

2 Thessalonians 3:2-5 NIV [2] And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people, for not everyone has faith. [3] But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. [4] We have confidence in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we command. [5] May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.

Lord, we thank you and praise you that you are our Protector and our Deliverer. Lord, that you have delivered us from death to LIFE! Lord we pray today that (our loved one) would be delivered from the wicked and evil that surrounds them for we know that not everyone is faithful. But Lord we know that You are faithful and we ask that you would strengthen (our loved one) today and protect (him/her) from the evil one. Lord we have full confidence that You are with (our loved one) and that you know what you are doing and have a perfect plan for their lives! Finally Lord, we ask that You would direct (our loved one's) heart into Your perfect love and Christ's perseverance. We believe that through Christ's death these things have already been done! We pray this in Jesus precious name! Amen!

Breathe Again

During the height of the craziness in our home we forgot.  We forgot a lot of things to be honest.  But mostly we forgot about the power God has given us with our words.  Romans 4 says that God calls into being things that don’t exist as if they do, that he gives life to the dead.  And in Romans 8 it says that WE have that same power in us.

What are we calling into existence today? Do our words build up or tear down?

Is our tongue being used to speak life or speak death over our loved ones?

Are we giving power to the enemy by verbally putting our ugly, destructive fears out there for him to play on?

Today….when we speak, let it be words of life.  Let’s call those dry, dead bones to live and breathe once again!

October 7, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Ezekiel 37:4-6,14 NIV [4] Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, 'Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! [5] This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life[6] I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord. ' ” [14] I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken, and I have done it, declares the Lord. ' ”

Abba daddy, we come to you today feeling desperate and powerless.  We confess that at times our words and the meditations of our hearts have been a tool of death.  We know through our words and through the gift of prayer we have the power of life.  Today, we call into being that which doesn’t exist as if it does.  Lord, we speak healing and life over [our loved one].  We ask that you would breathe your breath into [our loved one’s] very soul. We pray that the dry, dead bones of a wounded and weary spirit would be healed in your name.  We pray that you would put a new and fresh spirit in [him/her].  Fill [him/her] with the oxygen of hope Lord, bring [our loved one] back home, to the life you have claimed to be [our loved one’s].  We eagerly wait in expectation for You to show us the power you have to bring dry, dead bones back to life and we give You all of this honor and glory in your Son’s holy name we pray.  Amen

All Things Really DO Work For Good

There have been many times on this journey, sometimes when things were at their very worst, when a well, meaning, smiling, godly woman, would lovingly pat me on the arm and say “well, you know...God works everything out for good.”

Tell that to a mama who’s loved one just went off the grid.

Tell that to a wife who just found out her loved one has graduated to heroin.

Tell that to the daddy who just watched his baby girl taken to prison in handcuffs.

Tell that to a grandma who just got a call that her child has od’d and she is now responsible for taking care of her grandchildren.

Tell that to the daughter who’s being verbally abused daily by her drugged up parent.

As well meaning as it all is, it can be pretty hard to hear sometimes.

BUT...

These words ARE in the Bible. And if you continue to read the words following those, you will see one of the most amazing promises God wrote to us.

You see...I believe my loved one was chosen, called by God. And when I lose site of that I can become wounded, defensive or hopeless.

The truth is, no matter how I feel today God does promise that because we are chosen, because our loved one is chosen (whether they’ve discovered it yet or not) we can walk in this assurance.

One day, God will work everything out for his purposes for those who love and trust in Him.

October 6, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Romans 8:28-30 NCV [28] We know that in everything God works for the good of those who love him. They are the people he called, because that was his plan. [29] God knew them before he made the world, and he chose them to be like his Son so that Jesus would be the firstborn of many brothers and sisters. [30] God planned for them to be like his Son; and those he planned to be like his Son, he also called; and those he called, he also made right with him; and those he made right, he also glorified.

Father God, thank you that you know me and that you that you knew (our loved one) before you even created the world. Wow what wonderful knowledge that is! You knew us before you even created the world! Lord, we believe today that you are working everything out for good, because we love you. Lord, we believe in our heart that you have a calling on (our loved one’s) life and we hope in that plan for (his/her) future. And Lord, you CHOSE (our loved one) to be like your son so that Jesus would have many brothers and sisters. Lord, You have planned for (our loved one) to be like your son....to be like Jesus! How awesome is that promise Lord. And for those you have promised to be like your son (which includes us all) you have called. Yes Lord! You have called (our loved one) to be like YOU and to be made right with You! And thank you Lord that as you have created (our loved one), promised to make (him/her) like your own son, called (him/her) unto you to do great things and promised to make (him/her) right with you, so your words say you will glorify (our loved one). Lord, I visualize right now (my loved one) being glorified and honored by YOU...King of Kings and Lord of Lords! How precious is that picture Lord. Thank you for this promise to a broken hearted mamma this morning! I believe this and claim this today in your son's precious name! Amen!

He Snapps Chains

e broke down prison gates and cut apart bars of iron to snatch them from the door of death...

He SNAPPED their chains...

And with a whisper...

They were healed.

October 5, 2018. Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 107:13-16,19-20 NLT [13] "LORD, help!" they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. [14] He led them from the darkness and deepest gloom; he snapped their chains. [15] Let them praise the LORD for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them. [16] For he broke down their prison gates of bronze; he cut apart their bars of iron. [20] He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death.

Father God, we come before you today broken, yet confident of your love and faithfulness in our lives. Lord, we intercede on behalf of (our loved one) today. Lord, we pray that (our loved one ) will cry "Lord, help! in (his/her) trouble Lord and that you will save (him/her) today from (his/her) distress! Lord, lead (our loved one) out of the darkness, out of (his/her) deepest gloom and snap (his/her) chains away! Lord we are confident that soon (our loved one) will praise You for Your great love love and the wonderful things You have done for (our loved one) because Lord, you and only you are able to break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron to rescue (our loved one). Lord, we believe that with just a word you will heal (our loved one) and rescue (him/her) today, snatching them right from deaths door! We believe these things and look forward to the day of deliverance for (our loved one). We pray this with confidence in Jesus precious name! Amen

No Condemnation

In the process of walking through these difficult circumstances, all kinds of emotions come into play. Anger, hate, bitterness, shame, regret, are just a few. We feel that towards ourselves at times (when we fail) and we often feel it towards our loved one. It's difficult most days to separate the person, our precious child or the one we grew to love, from the oppression that has it's grip on them.

Do not let these emotions overcome you my friends! They are the greatest lie from the enemy and the greatest tool that he uses to keep us stuck in darkness. And they keep our loved ones stuck in a cycle of shame....they want to stop, they try for a few hours or a few days, the powerful pull of the oppression overcomes them and they are right back into it. And they don't want to be. And they feel shame and they feel condemned.

So these verses speak against condemnation. There is NO room for any of those feelings and emotions in this battle. We MUST embrace the forgiveness and love of our Heavenly Father and we MUST pass on that unconditional love and forgiveness to the ones we love with all of our heart.

October 4, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Romans 8:1-2 NIV [1] Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, [2] because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.

Father we come before you this morning with the authority of the blood of Jesus Christ. And we pray against any spirit of condemnation that has taken hold of (our loved one). Lord we believe that through Christ Jesus, the law of Your Spirit who gives life to (our loved one), will set (him/her) free from the law of sin and death. We believe that through You true freedom will come to pass for (our loved one). We pray that all of (our loved one’s) chains will be broken today! We pray this with confidence in your son's Holy and precious name. Amen

Love Will Lead Them Home

One day, in the middle of all of the craziness, we were sitting across from a pastor asking for counsel. He gave us some pretty profound advice that changed the course of our journey. And as we finished the conversation he looked at us and said, “Just remember....LOVE NEVER FAILS.”

I know that I can’t love the way I need to, unless I fully understand how much my Heavenly Father loves me. So today, I pray that you will be absolutely filled to overflowing with the anointing love of our amazing God. So much so, that it overflows and spills out on everyone around you.

And I pray that love will drive everything you do, as you come alongside your precious loved one that is suffering. Because that love will lead them home.

October 3, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

1 Thessalonians 3:11-13 MSG [11-13] May God our Father himself and our Master Jesus clear the road to you! And may the Master pour on the love so it fills your lives and splashes over on everyone around you, just as it does from us to you. May you be infused with strength and purity, filled with confidence in the presence of God our Father when our Master Jesus arrives with all his followers.

Lord God, we come before you today with the desire to fully experience Your love in our lives. We know that perfect love cast out all fear and that love never fails. Lord our motive for our prayers is love. Love for You and love for [our loved one]. Lord we pray today that You would intervene on our behalf and clear a road for [our loved one] straight to you! Lord we pray that You would pour out Your love so fully that it fills [our loved one's] life and splashes over on everyone around [our loved one], just as it has done from You to us! Lord we pray today that you would infuse [our loved one] with strength and purity. That you would fill [our loved one] with confidence in Your presence Lord. And that one day, when Your son appears You will say to us and to [our loved one] well done good and faithful servant. We ask this in Your Son's precious name. Amen.

He Cares for You

Fear and anxiety are sadly, just a normal part of the journey that we are on in life in general, but even more so when we have a loved on that struggles. There is nothing new under the sun, so this is talked about extensively in God's love letter to us.

Friends, he does not want us to be a slave to fear. He does not want us to be a slave to worry. He does not want us to be a slave to anxiety.

We are his children. And like we comforted our own babies with our love, when they were fearful or anxious, so he longs to comfort us.

And our sweet loved ones...well they live with fear and anxiety every single moment of every day. They are trapped in a world they didn't ask for. A world that is foreign. One they don't belong in. And deep down they desire to be released from that world.

Praying today that each of us would take our deepest worries and fears and lay them at the foot of the cross.

October 2, 2018 Our Prayer for our Loved One today:

1 Peter 5:7 NLT [7] Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

Lord, we sit at your feet this morning filled with the worries and fears of today. Lord, sometimes the burden is just too heavy to carry. And Lord, we don't want to carry it alone. This morning we release the yoke that is choking us, we lift it off of our shoulders and lay it at the foot of the cross. We believe that we don't have to be a slave to anxiety or fear and we release those to you as well. Lord, we know that [our loved one] struggles with irrational fears. The fear of a different life. The fear of disappointing us. The fear of living life on life’s terms. And we pray against those fears and anxieties. We declare peace for [our loved one]. We declare a sound mind for [our loved one]. We declare power for [our loved one]. The power to make the choice today to live. And Lord, we pray that in the way only you can, that you would wrap [our loved one] in your love today, that through some beautiful orchestrated circumstance [he/she] would see you and how deeply you care for [him/her]. Lord, we thank you for watching over [our loved one] and keeping [him/her] close to You. We pray this in Your Son's Holy Name. Amen

I Will Go Before You

Recently we traveled to the mountains out west. Not even the biggest ones, but some very large ones none the less. And I couldn’t help but think about those very earliest travelers across our country. All they saw were mountains in front of them. One after another. They had this promise, this assurance that if they got through those mountains there would be an amazing place waiting for them on the other side. It was a relentless journey, a journey that brought death for many. But for those who pressed on, eventually there was a clearing and it opened up to the most beautiful place they had ever seen.

You may be there. All you see is mountains in front of you. Insurmountable ones. And they seem impossible to overcome. There is no opening. No break to travel through.

But God’s word says that whether we see it or not, we can be assured that he is going before us and leveling those mountains, and making that path through the wilderness.

Just so that one day...

One day...

His power will be so obvious in our lives, in our loved ones lives, that there will be no denying Him.

October 1, 2018. Our prayer for our loved one today:

Isaiah 45:2-3 NLT [2] This is what the LORD says: "I will go before you, "my child", and level the mountains. I will smash down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron[3] And I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness- secret riches. I will do this so you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, the one who calls you by name.

Lord, we come before you today facing mountains. There is a wilderness in front of us and we see no way out. So we look to your word and your promises to give us strength and encouragement. And you are the God who can make a way through that wilderness. Lord, we believe that you are going before [our loved one] and that you are leveling mountains for [him/her]. Lord, you are smashing down gates of bronze and cutting through bars of iron, to make a path for [our loved one]. Lord, we know that you have amazing treasure in store for [our loved one]. Lord, we believe this will be so miraculous that there will be no denying you Lord, that [our loved one] will KNOW that you are the Lord, who calls [our loved one] by name. Lord, we trust your promises and believe this today. In your son's precious name we pray! Amen

He Will Bring Us Through The Fire

Fire…

The killing off of disease.

The cleansing.

The refining.

The clearing out for all that’s new.

He will bring us through the fire.  And just like in nature, after the fire will come abundance.

Beauty from ashes.

For us...

For our loved one...

September 30, 2018. Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 66:12 NLT [12] We went through fire and flood, but you brought us to a place of great abundance.

Lord, we come before you this today with expectation and hope in our hearts.  We thank you that you are real and your promises are true.  Lord, we believe that you go before us, you are with us and you go behind us.  We are in the middle of the flood and the fire.  Lord, [our loved one] is in the middle of the flood and fire.  But you promise that you will bring [our loved one] through these trying times.  Lord, we thank you!  We thank you that one day [our loved one] will walk out of the fire and into a place of great abundance.  That out of the ashes of our lives, something truly beautiful will be reborn.  We trust you and today we are going to choose to walk in that hope!  In Jesus precious name we pray.   Amen

I

A Spacious Place

The chords of death…”I don’t want to live this way, but I don’t know any other way to live.”

The overwhelming hopelessness…”There is no way out.”

The cry for help…”Save me. Free me.”

When we cry to him....

He will reach down and take hold of us.

He will rescue..

And he will set us in a spacious place.

His promises never change.  Hold on, this pain will end.

March 14, 2015  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 18:3-4,6,16-17,19 NIV [3] I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I have been saved from my enemies[4] The cords of death entangled me; the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me[6] In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears[16] He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters[17] He rescued me from my powerful enemy....19] He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.

Father God, we call on you who is worthy of praise today!  Lord, we come before you on behalf of [our loved one] and ask that you save [him/her] from the enemy of the oppression that binds [him/her].  The chords of death entangle [our loved one]; the flood of destruction overwhelm’s [him/her].  Lord, we ask that in [our loved one's] distress [he/she] would call out to you, that [he/she] would cry to you Abba Father for help!  We pray you would hear [our loved one's] voice; that [his/her] cry would come to you.  And that you would reach down from on high and take hold of [our loved one], that you would draw [him/her] out of deep waters and firmly plant [him/her] on solid ground.  Bring [our loved one] into a spacious place, a place of peace, because we know that you delight in [our loved one].  We trust in You today and believe in your perfect plan for [our loved one] today.  In Jesus precious name we pray.  Amen!
