Breathe Again

During the height of the craziness in our home we forgot.  We forgot a lot of things to be honest.  But mostly we forgot about the power God has given us with our words.  Romans 4 says that God calls into being things that don’t exist as if they do, that he gives life to the dead.  And in Romans 8 it says that WE have that same power in us.

What are we calling into existence today? Do our words build up or tear down?

Is our tongue being used to speak life or speak death over our loved ones?

Are we giving power to the enemy by verbally putting our ugly, destructive fears out there for him to play on?

Today….when we speak, let it be words of life.  Let’s call those dry, dead bones to live and breathe once again!

October 7, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Ezekiel 37:4-6,14 NIV [4] Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, 'Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! [5] This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life[6] I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord. ' ” [14] I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken, and I have done it, declares the Lord. ' ”

Abba daddy, we come to you today feeling desperate and powerless.  We confess that at times our words and the meditations of our hearts have been a tool of death.  We know through our words and through the gift of prayer we have the power of life.  Today, we call into being that which doesn’t exist as if it does.  Lord, we speak healing and life over [our loved one].  We ask that you would breathe your breath into [our loved one’s] very soul. We pray that the dry, dead bones of a wounded and weary spirit would be healed in your name.  We pray that you would put a new and fresh spirit in [him/her].  Fill [him/her] with the oxygen of hope Lord, bring [our loved one] back home, to the life you have claimed to be [our loved one’s].  We eagerly wait in expectation for You to show us the power you have to bring dry, dead bones back to life and we give You all of this honor and glory in your Son’s holy name we pray.  Amen

All Things Really DO Work For Good

There have been many times on this journey, sometimes when things were at their very worst, when a well, meaning, smiling, godly woman, would lovingly pat me on the arm and say “well, you know...God works everything out for good.”

Tell that to a mama who’s loved one just went off the grid.

Tell that to a wife who just found out her loved one has graduated to heroin.

Tell that to the daddy who just watched his baby girl taken to prison in handcuffs.

Tell that to a grandma who just got a call that her child has od’d and she is now responsible for taking care of her grandchildren.

Tell that to the daughter who’s being verbally abused daily by her drugged up parent.

As well meaning as it all is, it can be pretty hard to hear sometimes.

BUT...

These words ARE in the Bible. And if you continue to read the words following those, you will see one of the most amazing promises God wrote to us.

You see...I believe my loved one was chosen, called by God. And when I lose site of that I can become wounded, defensive or hopeless.

The truth is, no matter how I feel today God does promise that because we are chosen, because our loved one is chosen (whether they’ve discovered it yet or not) we can walk in this assurance.

One day, God will work everything out for his purposes for those who love and trust in Him.

October 6, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Romans 8:28-30 NCV [28] We know that in everything God works for the good of those who love him. They are the people he called, because that was his plan. [29] God knew them before he made the world, and he chose them to be like his Son so that Jesus would be the firstborn of many brothers and sisters. [30] God planned for them to be like his Son; and those he planned to be like his Son, he also called; and those he called, he also made right with him; and those he made right, he also glorified.

Father God, thank you that you know me and that you that you knew (our loved one) before you even created the world. Wow what wonderful knowledge that is! You knew us before you even created the world! Lord, we believe today that you are working everything out for good, because we love you. Lord, we believe in our heart that you have a calling on (our loved one’s) life and we hope in that plan for (his/her) future. And Lord, you CHOSE (our loved one) to be like your son so that Jesus would have many brothers and sisters. Lord, You have planned for (our loved one) to be like your son....to be like Jesus! How awesome is that promise Lord. And for those you have promised to be like your son (which includes us all) you have called. Yes Lord! You have called (our loved one) to be like YOU and to be made right with You! And thank you Lord that as you have created (our loved one), promised to make (him/her) like your own son, called (him/her) unto you to do great things and promised to make (him/her) right with you, so your words say you will glorify (our loved one). Lord, I visualize right now (my loved one) being glorified and honored by YOU...King of Kings and Lord of Lords! How precious is that picture Lord. Thank you for this promise to a broken hearted mamma this morning! I believe this and claim this today in your son's precious name! Amen!

He Snapps Chains

e broke down prison gates and cut apart bars of iron to snatch them from the door of death...

He SNAPPED their chains...

And with a whisper...

They were healed.

October 5, 2018. Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 107:13-16,19-20 NLT [13] "LORD, help!" they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. [14] He led them from the darkness and deepest gloom; he snapped their chains. [15] Let them praise the LORD for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them. [16] For he broke down their prison gates of bronze; he cut apart their bars of iron. [20] He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death.

Father God, we come before you today broken, yet confident of your love and faithfulness in our lives. Lord, we intercede on behalf of (our loved one) today. Lord, we pray that (our loved one ) will cry "Lord, help! in (his/her) trouble Lord and that you will save (him/her) today from (his/her) distress! Lord, lead (our loved one) out of the darkness, out of (his/her) deepest gloom and snap (his/her) chains away! Lord we are confident that soon (our loved one) will praise You for Your great love love and the wonderful things You have done for (our loved one) because Lord, you and only you are able to break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron to rescue (our loved one). Lord, we believe that with just a word you will heal (our loved one) and rescue (him/her) today, snatching them right from deaths door! We believe these things and look forward to the day of deliverance for (our loved one). We pray this with confidence in Jesus precious name! Amen

No Condemnation

In the process of walking through these difficult circumstances, all kinds of emotions come into play. Anger, hate, bitterness, shame, regret, are just a few. We feel that towards ourselves at times (when we fail) and we often feel it towards our loved one. It's difficult most days to separate the person, our precious child or the one we grew to love, from the oppression that has it's grip on them.

Do not let these emotions overcome you my friends! They are the greatest lie from the enemy and the greatest tool that he uses to keep us stuck in darkness. And they keep our loved ones stuck in a cycle of shame....they want to stop, they try for a few hours or a few days, the powerful pull of the oppression overcomes them and they are right back into it. And they don't want to be. And they feel shame and they feel condemned.

So these verses speak against condemnation. There is NO room for any of those feelings and emotions in this battle. We MUST embrace the forgiveness and love of our Heavenly Father and we MUST pass on that unconditional love and forgiveness to the ones we love with all of our heart.

October 4, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Romans 8:1-2 NIV [1] Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, [2] because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.

Father we come before you this morning with the authority of the blood of Jesus Christ. And we pray against any spirit of condemnation that has taken hold of (our loved one). Lord we believe that through Christ Jesus, the law of Your Spirit who gives life to (our loved one), will set (him/her) free from the law of sin and death. We believe that through You true freedom will come to pass for (our loved one). We pray that all of (our loved one’s) chains will be broken today! We pray this with confidence in your son's Holy and precious name. Amen

Love Will Lead Them Home

One day, in the middle of all of the craziness, we were sitting across from a pastor asking for counsel. He gave us some pretty profound advice that changed the course of our journey. And as we finished the conversation he looked at us and said, “Just remember....LOVE NEVER FAILS.”

I know that I can’t love the way I need to, unless I fully understand how much my Heavenly Father loves me. So today, I pray that you will be absolutely filled to overflowing with the anointing love of our amazing God. So much so, that it overflows and spills out on everyone around you.

And I pray that love will drive everything you do, as you come alongside your precious loved one that is suffering. Because that love will lead them home.

October 3, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

1 Thessalonians 3:11-13 MSG [11-13] May God our Father himself and our Master Jesus clear the road to you! And may the Master pour on the love so it fills your lives and splashes over on everyone around you, just as it does from us to you. May you be infused with strength and purity, filled with confidence in the presence of God our Father when our Master Jesus arrives with all his followers.

Lord God, we come before you today with the desire to fully experience Your love in our lives. We know that perfect love cast out all fear and that love never fails. Lord our motive for our prayers is love. Love for You and love for [our loved one]. Lord we pray today that You would intervene on our behalf and clear a road for [our loved one] straight to you! Lord we pray that You would pour out Your love so fully that it fills [our loved one's] life and splashes over on everyone around [our loved one], just as it has done from You to us! Lord we pray today that you would infuse [our loved one] with strength and purity. That you would fill [our loved one] with confidence in Your presence Lord. And that one day, when Your son appears You will say to us and to [our loved one] well done good and faithful servant. We ask this in Your Son's precious name. Amen.

He Cares for You

Fear and anxiety are sadly, just a normal part of the journey that we are on in life in general, but even more so when we have a loved on that struggles. There is nothing new under the sun, so this is talked about extensively in God's love letter to us.

Friends, he does not want us to be a slave to fear. He does not want us to be a slave to worry. He does not want us to be a slave to anxiety.

We are his children. And like we comforted our own babies with our love, when they were fearful or anxious, so he longs to comfort us.

And our sweet loved ones...well they live with fear and anxiety every single moment of every day. They are trapped in a world they didn't ask for. A world that is foreign. One they don't belong in. And deep down they desire to be released from that world.

Praying today that each of us would take our deepest worries and fears and lay them at the foot of the cross.

October 2, 2018 Our Prayer for our Loved One today:

1 Peter 5:7 NLT [7] Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

Lord, we sit at your feet this morning filled with the worries and fears of today. Lord, sometimes the burden is just too heavy to carry. And Lord, we don't want to carry it alone. This morning we release the yoke that is choking us, we lift it off of our shoulders and lay it at the foot of the cross. We believe that we don't have to be a slave to anxiety or fear and we release those to you as well. Lord, we know that [our loved one] struggles with irrational fears. The fear of a different life. The fear of disappointing us. The fear of living life on life’s terms. And we pray against those fears and anxieties. We declare peace for [our loved one]. We declare a sound mind for [our loved one]. We declare power for [our loved one]. The power to make the choice today to live. And Lord, we pray that in the way only you can, that you would wrap [our loved one] in your love today, that through some beautiful orchestrated circumstance [he/she] would see you and how deeply you care for [him/her]. Lord, we thank you for watching over [our loved one] and keeping [him/her] close to You. We pray this in Your Son's Holy Name. Amen

I Will Go Before You

Recently we traveled to the mountains out west. Not even the biggest ones, but some very large ones none the less. And I couldn’t help but think about those very earliest travelers across our country. All they saw were mountains in front of them. One after another. They had this promise, this assurance that if they got through those mountains there would be an amazing place waiting for them on the other side. It was a relentless journey, a journey that brought death for many. But for those who pressed on, eventually there was a clearing and it opened up to the most beautiful place they had ever seen.

You may be there. All you see is mountains in front of you. Insurmountable ones. And they seem impossible to overcome. There is no opening. No break to travel through.

But God’s word says that whether we see it or not, we can be assured that he is going before us and leveling those mountains, and making that path through the wilderness.

Just so that one day...

One day...

His power will be so obvious in our lives, in our loved ones lives, that there will be no denying Him.

October 1, 2018. Our prayer for our loved one today:

Isaiah 45:2-3 NLT [2] This is what the LORD says: "I will go before you, "my child", and level the mountains. I will smash down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron[3] And I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness- secret riches. I will do this so you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, the one who calls you by name.

Lord, we come before you today facing mountains. There is a wilderness in front of us and we see no way out. So we look to your word and your promises to give us strength and encouragement. And you are the God who can make a way through that wilderness. Lord, we believe that you are going before [our loved one] and that you are leveling mountains for [him/her]. Lord, you are smashing down gates of bronze and cutting through bars of iron, to make a path for [our loved one]. Lord, we know that you have amazing treasure in store for [our loved one]. Lord, we believe this will be so miraculous that there will be no denying you Lord, that [our loved one] will KNOW that you are the Lord, who calls [our loved one] by name. Lord, we trust your promises and believe this today. In your son's precious name we pray! Amen

He Will Bring Us Through The Fire

Fire…

The killing off of disease.

The cleansing.

The refining.

The clearing out for all that’s new.

He will bring us through the fire.  And just like in nature, after the fire will come abundance.

Beauty from ashes.

For us...

For our loved one...

September 30, 2018. Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 66:12 NLT [12] We went through fire and flood, but you brought us to a place of great abundance.

Lord, we come before you this today with expectation and hope in our hearts.  We thank you that you are real and your promises are true.  Lord, we believe that you go before us, you are with us and you go behind us.  We are in the middle of the flood and the fire.  Lord, [our loved one] is in the middle of the flood and fire.  But you promise that you will bring [our loved one] through these trying times.  Lord, we thank you!  We thank you that one day [our loved one] will walk out of the fire and into a place of great abundance.  That out of the ashes of our lives, something truly beautiful will be reborn.  We trust you and today we are going to choose to walk in that hope!  In Jesus precious name we pray.   Amen

I

A Spacious Place

The chords of death…”I don’t want to live this way, but I don’t know any other way to live.”

The overwhelming hopelessness…”There is no way out.”

The cry for help…”Save me. Free me.”

When we cry to him....

He will reach down and take hold of us.

He will rescue..

And he will set us in a spacious place.

His promises never change.  Hold on, this pain will end.

March 14, 2015  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 18:3-4,6,16-17,19 NIV [3] I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I have been saved from my enemies[4] The cords of death entangled me; the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me[6] In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears[16] He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters[17] He rescued me from my powerful enemy....19] He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.

Father God, we call on you who is worthy of praise today!  Lord, we come before you on behalf of [our loved one] and ask that you save [him/her] from the enemy of the oppression that binds [him/her].  The chords of death entangle [our loved one]; the flood of destruction overwhelm’s [him/her].  Lord, we ask that in [our loved one's] distress [he/she] would call out to you, that [he/she] would cry to you Abba Father for help!  We pray you would hear [our loved one's] voice; that [his/her] cry would come to you.  And that you would reach down from on high and take hold of [our loved one], that you would draw [him/her] out of deep waters and firmly plant [him/her] on solid ground.  Bring [our loved one] into a spacious place, a place of peace, because we know that you delight in [our loved one].  We trust in You today and believe in your perfect plan for [our loved one] today.  In Jesus precious name we pray.  Amen!

When We Run to Him, He Saves Us

Recently I had the honor of hearing a special woman share her story. It was a young woman in recovery. She described THE moment. The moment that she completely surrendered, turned her back on her old life and ran into the arms of her Abba Daddy. She was radically and instantly delivered from her addictions in that moment. She was in a state of near death (literally) and God not only delivered her from death but then completely redeemed her life.

I picture God standing off in the distance, with his arms open wide, saying "come, come to me. I have this gift for you! It's called LIFE." It is available for ALL of us when we run to Him instead of doing life our own way.

Praying we ALL have that moment of surrender and run into His open arms today!

September 28, 2018 Our Prayer for our Loved One today:

The spacious, free life is from GOD, it’s also protected and safe. GOD -strengthened, we’re delivered from evil— when we run to him, he saves us. (Psalm 37:39-40 MSG)

Lord, today we come before you desiring freedom! Freedom from oppression and death. We know that You and You alone give us life and give it abundantly. Lord, we thank you for the gift of life and pray today that (our loved one) would desire that gift as well. Lord, we pray that (our loved one) would chose to live that spacious, free life that only You can give (him/her) and in that life (he/she) would be protected and safe. Lord, we pray (our loved one) would be GOD-strengthened and delivered from all evil. Lord when we run to You, You save us! Lord, we pray that (our loved one) would run to You today! We thank you that you are our deliverer and pray this in Your Son's precious name! Amen

Today...

May you take refuge in the shadow of His wings.

May you feast on the abundance of HIs love.

May you drink from the river of His refreshing spring of living water.

And may you be filled to overflowing with the light from His fountain of life.

September 27, 2018 Our Prayer For Our Loved One Today:

Psalm 36:7-9 NIV [7] How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings[8] They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights[9] For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light!

Oh Lord, your unfailing love is priceless! We thank you that you are a God who loves us and desires us and wants a relationship with us. We thank you that you love [our loved one] beyond measure. We pray that [he/she] would feast on the abundance of Your house today and [he/she] drink from the river of your living water. For we know Lord that the fountain of light is in you! We pray that in Your light of your holy presence [he/she] would see and experience true and abundant life! We ask this in your son's precious name. Amen

New Birth

I am not a "name it and claim it" kind of gal. But I believe that our words matter. And I believe we are called to pray as if it is so, even though it isn't yet so.

These words say that each one of us has an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. And that we have great joy coming after the fire.

So walk in this truth today. Pray this over your children, over your family! These trials will some day be over. Death has been defeated. The VICTORY has already been won!

We have this living hope as an anchor for our soul.

September 26, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today.

1 Peter 1:3-4 NIV,6-7 NLT [3] Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, [4] and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, [6] So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while[7] These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith---of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire---may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

Lord, we rejoice in your love today. We rejoice in your power. We rejoice in your promises! We BELIEVE that this battle has already been won and victory has been accomplished! Lord, we give you praise for the living hope that we have. You have reserved an inheritance for [our loved one]. An inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. One that is kept in heaven just for [our loved one]. Lord we are truly glad! We wait in expectation for the wonderful joy that lays ahead for [our loved one] even though [he/she] is enduring many trials right now. We believe the end is coming and we claim that over [our loved one's] life today. We claim victory in this battle. We do not accept defeat because you have already triumphed. Lord, we give you praise and glory and honor for all that you are doing that we can't see! We wait in great expectation for all of this to occur and thank you in your Son's precious name. Amen!

He is Close to the Brokenhearted

The broken-hearted...

The hurting...

The suffering...

The marginalized...

The destitute...

The crushed in spirit

The lost...

My friends...these words say that He is closest to the least of these.  That may be you today.  That most likely is your loved one.

These words say that He encamped around those people and that He delivers them.

That is the power of his love

September 25, 2018   Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 34:4,6-7,18-19 NIV [4] I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears[6] This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles[7] The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them[18] The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit[19] The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all;

Lord, thank you that you hear our cries and are closest to us when we are broken into a million pieces.  We pray today that you would stay close to [our loved one] who is desperate and struggling and that you will deliver [him/her] from  all of [his/her] fears.   Lord, we ask today that [our loved one] would call out to you and that you would hear [him/her] and save [him/her] from all of [his/her] troubles.  We pray that your angels would encamp around [our loved one] and that those angels would protect [him/her] and deliver [him/her] from harm.  Draw close to [our loved one] today, draw near to your child who is broken hearted and crushed in spirit.  Right now [our loved one] has many troubles, but we believe you, Lord can deliver [him/her] from them all.  We pray that [our loved one] would simply whisper “yes.”   We pray these things in your precious name!  Amen

“I will sustain you.”

“I battling for you.”

“I will crush those who oppress you.”

You are not alone. Your loved one is not alone.

September 24, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 89:20-24, 26 I have found my servant David. I anointed him with my holy oil. My hand will sustain him—yes, my arm will strengthen him! No enemy will oppress him; no wicked person will make him suffer. I will crush all his foes in front of him. I will strike down all those who hate him. My faithfulness and my loyal love will be with him. He will be strengthened by my name. He will cry out to me:“You are my father, my God, the rock of my salvation.”

Father God, we give thanks today that you have found your precious child, [our loved one]. Thank you that in your perfect timing you will anoint [our loved one] with your holy oil. Thank you that your hand sustains [him/her] and that your arms strengthen [him/her]. We pray that no enemy will oppress [our loved one] and that no wicked person will ever make [our loved one] suffer. Lord, crush down all of [our loved one’s] foes and strike down anyone who is against [our loved one]. Thank you, for comforting us with the knowledge that your faithfulness and your loyal love is always with [our loved one] and that [he/she] will be strengthened by your name. Lord we look forward to the day when [our loved one] will cry out to you "Abba, Father, my God, the rock of my salvation." Lord, we pray these things with confidence and assurance today in Jesus precious name! Amen!

He Redeems

He heals All of our diseases...

He redeems our lives from the pit...

He crowns us with love and compassion...

He restores us…

He renews us…

He transforms us!

And what is the requirement to experience all of these things in their fullness?

Surrender.

September 22, 2018 Our Prayer for Our Loved One Today:

Psalm 103:2-5 NIV [2] Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits--- [3] who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, [4] who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, [5] who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Lord, we come before you this beautiful day with praise and thanksgiving in our hearts. We meditate on all of your wonderful ways and we won’t lose site of all the goodness that is you, God. Lord, we come before you on behalf of [our loved one] as we are confident that your son died on the cross to forgive [our loved one's] and to heal [our loved one] completely. I ask today that you redeem [our loved one] from the pit that [he/she] is in and crown [our loved one] with your perfect love and compassion. We believe that the day will come when the only way [our loved one] will be satisfied is through your love and [he/she] will come to desire all the good that comes from You. We ask today that you renew [our loved one] with strength like an eagle. We thank you for the assurance today, through your word, that these things will come to pass. In Jesus Holy name we pray! Amen

From the Lord Comes Deliverance

4 days ago a sweet mom and dad watched their son leave their home. Refusing any kind of help or treatment he packed up his vehicle and was determined to head south. We all spent the weekend praying for him and in the middle of the night last night, he showed up back at the family home looking for help.

We don't know the thoughts that go through our loved ones heads. We can't hear their hearts cry. But God does. He hears them and He sees their tears. We never know when that moment will come.

It could come on the couch of a friends. It could come in the tent they are living in. It could come at the alter of a random church they step into because they were drawn to it. It could come behind a steering wheel of a car. It could come on the bathroom floor of a McDonalds, just before they shoot up again.

But the Lord says deliverance WILL come.

It is why we can never lose hope.

Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 3:3-5,8 NIV [3] But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high[4] I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain[5] I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me[8] From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.

Oh Lord, thank you that you are a God who loves us and cares for us and loves [our love one] even more than we do. We ask today that you be a shield around [our loved one]. We ask that you ift [our loved one's] head high today. When [our loved one] calls out to you we pray that you answer [him/her] from your Holy Mountain! When [our loved one] lies down to sleep let [him/her] awake anew because you sustain [him/her]. From you alone comes deliverance for [our loved one]. Lord, may your blessings be on [him/her] today. We pray this in your Son's precious name! Amen.

Now Choose Life

She had lost everything valuable to her because she was so entangled in her suffering loved one's life.

She was physically sick.

Her friends didn't want to be around her. Her family was in constant conflict.

Her loved one was going deeper into her addiction.

She was desperate. She had hit her bottom.

And she wanted to live instead of die. She wanted life.

We all wake up each morning with the same number of seconds given to us. How are you going to use yours today?

Are you going to choose gratitude? Peace? Love?

Are you going to choose LIFE?

Praying today that through faith we make that choice. And praying today through faith that our loved ones do the same.

September 20, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Deuteronomy 30:19-20 NIV[19] This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live [20] and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life...

Lord, we come before you today grateful because you have the words of eternal life. Today, this moment, you have set before each of us a choice. You have set before [our loved one] the choice of life or death, blessings or curses. We pray that [our loved one] would choose life, so that [he/she] and [his/her] entire family would live...really live!! We pray that [our loved one] would chase after you, would listen to your voice and would hold fast to you! For in you there is life. Lord, we agree with your word today. We ask these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen!

My Strength and Song

One day not long ago, I had lunch with a beautiful young woman named Savannah. She was 4 months in recovery. Savannah had lost everything. She was living in her car, using IV drugs, had lost her 5 children. Through a series of events that only God could orchestrate she met Jason. Jason too, was addicted to drugs. Jason had an epiphany one day and opened his Bible. Randomly opened his Bible. And God, in that moment spoke to him. Even in his addiction, Jason recognized truth. And in love he shared truth with Savannah. Both Jason and Savannah went through different treatment programs and now they are both sober and wrecked for Jesus.

They didn’t go to a faith-based rehab. They didn’t get prayed over by someone else. They didn’t hear a powerful message and have a conversion experience. God just simply came to them and they whispered “yes”.

Your loved one could be Savannah or Jason. You see God came to them and rescued them in the most miraculous way. And now they are sharing their truth with others.

When things seem hopeless, God is working the hardest.

We can’t. But He can.

September 19, 2018 Our prayer for our Loved One today;

Isaiah 12:2-5 NLT [2] See, God has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The LORD GOD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory." [3] With joy you will drink deeply from the fountain of salvation! [4] In that wonderful day you will sing: "Thank the LORD! Praise his name! Tell the nations what he has done. Let them know how mighty he is! [5] Sing to the LORD, for he has done wonderful things. Make known his praise around the world.

Lord, we believe that your desire, your very heart is to rescue [our loved one]! We know that [he/she]is afraid, that [he/she] is struggling today. We pray that [he/she] would trust You and would not be afraid to surrender [his/her] everything to you! You are our strength and our song and in you [our loved one] will have victory!. May [our loved one] drink deeply from the fountain of your saving grace! We believe and trust that in that wonderful day [our loved one] will sing "Thank you Lord!" And we are excited for that day when [he/she] will make known to others all the wonderful things that you have done in [his/her] life. We believe and do not doubt! We trust in your promises today and we pray all of these things in your might name! Amen!

He Heals

Every Sunday we do a meal, ministry and church for about 125 homeless and the underserved. It is a beautiful thing and I have seen God move mountains In the hearts of the people who walk through the doors.

Recently, I met Janelle and Nicole. Both at the end of themselves. Crying out for help because their lives were unmanageable.

We have had young men, men like your sons, and young women, women like your daughters come to the alter and ask for healing. Begging to be set free.

And I have seen some of these sweet souls move from addiction and oppression to freedom. From homelessness to not only having a physical home, but having a spiritual home.

Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals, still heals today my friends. He breaks chains. He sets the captives free.

He can do that for you. He can do it for our loved ones. Your prayers matter. He hears them. And we never know when and where they will be answered.

September 18, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Jeremiah 17:14 GNT [14] LORD, heal me and I will be completely well; rescue me and I will be perfectly safe. You are the one I praise!

Lord, we come before you today knowing that you have the power to heal any sickness, rescue us from our brokenness and break any stronghold. Lord our prayer is simple today...heal [our loved one] so [he/she] can be completely well. Rescue [our loved one] so [he/she] will be perfectly safe. And Lord may the praise of your name one day be on [our loved one's] lips. We trust in your perfect plan and believe you will work all things out in your perfect timing. We pray this in your Son's precious name. Amen.

He Makes Us Beautiful and Whole

The valley of the shadow…

Death.

A reality for all of us but even more so for our prodigals. Yet, as followers of Christ, we believe that this Earth isn't our final stopping point. And we long for the day when wholeness comes to each one of us.

However these words say that we don't have to wait for that transformation. It can happen right here, right now. Through His power. Are we waiting to die to live? That is not his plan for us. His plan is that he can make us beautiful and whole today.

I have experienced this. Through the brokenness I am not the same person. In the shattering, I have been remade. I have been “put together” as I should be.

And I will not stop praying for this to happen to each of us today.

September 17, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Philippians 3:20-21 MSG [20-21] But there's far more to life for us. We're citizens of high heaven! We're waiting the arrival of the Savior, the Master, Jesus Christ, who will transform our earthy bodies into glorious bodies like his own. He'll make us beautiful and whole with the same powerful skill by which he is putting everything as it should be.

Abba Father....You are a good God. A God who hears us and who delights in us. A God who longs to give us our hearts cry. Lord today agree in prayer that there is so much more to life for us then our minds can comprehend. And so much more life in store for [our loved one] because you have called [him/her] a citizen of heaven! Lord, through the power of Jesus Christ, we believe that you will transform [our loved one] from the image [he/she] is right now, into your glorious likeness. We believe that you will make [our loved one] beautiful and whole by the powerful skill you posses to align everything as it should be. You are in the business of transformation and we believe that even now this transformation is taking place in each of us who whisper Your name. We call this into being through prayer in Your son's precious name. Amen!
