May you Overflow with Hope

One night...

One night, in his suffering he walked in the doors of the healing room for prayer.

And God met him there.

In this young man’s deepest pain, the God of hope filled him with all joy and peace...

He filled him with hope and set him free.

My friends... in your own suffering, as you put your hope in Him, I pray that you too, would be filled to overflowing with power, with joy and with His perfect peace. And I pray that our own loved ones would have a similar encounter. One that will bring them peace.

February 27, 2019 Our prayer for our loved one today

Romans 15:13 NIV

[13] May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Abba Daddy, we thank you because you are a good, good daddy. Everything good and perfect comes from You. And we thank you that we don't have to walk this difficult journey alone. Lord, today we pray that You, the God of hope would fill (our loved one) with hope. Fill (him/her) with the joy and peace that can only come when (he/she) trusts in You. Lord, we pray that the power of the Holy Spirit would touch (our loved one) so that (he/she) would overflow with HOPE today. Touch (our loved one) Lord. Draw us all to you today. Wrap us up in your love. In Jesus precious name we pray. Amen.

In Your Care

Surrender...

It's a daily thing….

Sometimes a moment by moment thing…

And these verses remind us that we can fully trust the One who keeps us safe, who shelters us from danger.

Lord...I place myself in your care.

Lord...I place my loved one in your care.

February 26, 2019  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 31:3-5 (GNV)  You are my refuge and defense; guide me and lead me as you have promised.  Keep me safe from the trap that has been set for me;  shelter me from danger. I place myself in your care.  You will save me, Lord; you are a faithful God.

From Ugly to Beautiful

My friends, our thoughts are so powerful.

When we look for the best, not the worst, the things to praise, not the things to complain about, the beautiful, not the ugly, our lives change.

And today I want to challenge you to not only practice that with your circumstances but also with your loved one.  Look for the beautiful and pray that beautiful into their very lives.

February 25, 2019 Our Prayer for Our Loved One today

Philippians 4:8-9 MSG [8-9] Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious---the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.

Heavenly Father, we thank you today that you are always good, that you are the giver of all things wonderful.  I confess that I often take my eyes off of that truth, that I don’t always see the good in my life or my loved one.  Lord, today I ask that I would purpose to fix my eyes on the beautiful and look for the miracles in this day, in this moment.  I pray that you would give me those eyes to see the beauty in [our loved one] as well.  I praise you for [our loved one] and thank you for [his/her] value, regardless of [his/her] circumstances.  Lord, I thank you that you are at work in [his/her] life and that when I see broken or “too far gone” You are just getting started.  I trust and believe that You see [our loved one] perfect and worthy of praise.  I ask that you move in my life and in [our loved one’s] life to create excellent harmonies today.  I pray this in Your Son’s Holy Name.  Amen

We are not Powerless

One of the statements we often hear is that we must admit that we are powerless over our loved ones choices.  And while that is definitely true...

The truth is that we are not powerless.

These verses say is that YOU have the same power in you as Jesus did when he was raised from the dead.  Do you understand that?

That power can give you strength, peace, joy, love and my favorite....FREEDOM.  Believe it!  Walk in it.  You are POWERFUL!!!   You can do ALL things through Christ who gives you strength and lives in you!

And this same power is available to our loved ones.  It is ours for the asking.  My prayer today is that each of us would recognize how much power we really do have and simply ask, “Lord I need you.  Fill me with you.”

February 24, 2019  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Romans 8:9-11 MSG [10-11] It stands to reason, doesn't it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, he'll do the same thing in you that he did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ's!

Father God, we thank you that in You there is hope and life.  Lord, it stands to reason...that if You, the alive-and present God who raise your son from the dead moves into (our loved ones) life, that we trust that You will do the same thing for (our loved one) that You did in Jesus...bringing (him/her) alive unto You!!!  God, when you live and breathe into (our loved one) as surely as you did in Jesus,  we believe (he/she) will be delivered from death to life!!  With Your Spirit living in (our addict) (he/she) will be ALIVE as Christ's!  Lord, we wait expectantly for that day to come soon with trust and hope!   We pray this in Jesus Holy Name!  Amen

Rest

You may be in a dark valley today.  In a place where you never expected to be.  And you may be asking why.  You may be feeling completely alone.   You may have fear.  You may have anxiety.  You may be in a place where you can't stop crying (I've been there).

But I want you to know, sweet friends that you are never alone.

Let Him comfort you today.  Let Him dry your tears.  Take your fears and anxiety and put them on His shoulders.

Rest in Him my friend....

Rest in Him.

February 23, 2019 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 23:1-6 NIV [1] The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. [2] He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, [3] he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. [4] Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. [5] You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. [6] Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Thank you Lord that you are (our loved one’s) shepherd and in You (he/she) will have everything (he/she) needs for an abundant life.  Lord, as I pray that (our loved one) will rest in You today I ask that you quiet (our loved one’s) spirit and refresh and restore (our loved one’s) soul.  Lord, I feel today that (our loved one’s) walking through the darkest of valley's, Lord but THANK YOU that you are always with (him/her) and that because of that, I have nothing to fear.  Lord, we ask that your rod would protect (our loved one) today.  Lord with your staff, draw me and (our loved one) near to you.   Lord comfort (our loved one) as only you can.  You provide for (him/her) a table, a feast even before (his/her) enemies, to the point where (his/her) cup will overflow with abundance!  Lord, thank you that your goodness and your mercies will follow (our loved one) all of the days of (our loved one’s) life and for the amazing promise that I will dwell with you in your house forever, eternally.  Lord, I thank you and praise you for all of these things today.  In Jesus Name!  Amen.

He did it for Us

That day.

The darkest day in history. The day He took all of the ugly in this world and placed it on His shoulders.

He died for you and me. AND he died for the addicted, the prostitute, the adulterer, the hater, the dealer, the rebellious lost cause. He did it for all of us.

He did it so that we could be set free...

He did it so we could be healed...

He did it so we could have peace....

He did it to bring abundant life.

He did it so that we could come to him and receive all of those things and more.

February 22, 2019 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Isaiah 53:4-5 NIV [4] Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted[5] But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

Lord God, we come to your throne today broke, in pain and suffering. Lord, we know that you were stricken and afflicted to bring us redemption, healing and freedom. Lord, we know this is available not just for us but for [our loved one] as well. Lord You were pierced for every one of [our loved one's] transgressions, you were crushed for [our loved one's] iniquities; the punishment that you bore, that was on you is what will bring [our loved one's] peace. Lord, by Your woulds [our loved one] will be completely healed and restored. Lord we believe this is your perfect plan for all of us. We pray that your plan will be fulfilled on this day Lord. We pray this in Your Son's precious name! Amen!

Abundance!

Our souls were created with a longing to be filled.  God created us to be filled with Him.

We look to the things that he created to fill our spirits rather than to the creator himself.  Especially when we feel lost or alone or broken, we look to our friends (who often fail us), we look to our spouses (who can disappoint us), we look to money (and we always come up short), we look to our corporate success (and that completely stresses us out).   We may even look to drugs or alcohol ourselves (I need that cigarette or I deserve that glass of wine.)

But the only thing that is truly going to fill our empty souls and the only thing that is going to truly fill our loved ones empty souls, is if we drink the living water, the source of life itself, that comes from God above.

Praying today that we would all drink from the refreshing well of his love and his peace.  And praying that our loved ones would do the same.

February 20, 2019  Our prayer for our loved one today:

John 4:10-11,13-14 NIV [10] Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” [11] Where can you get this living water? [13] Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, [14] but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

Good morning Father God.  The words of Jesus bring hope to us this morning.  Lord, You have a gift you want to give (our loved one) today.  Lord we know that if (our loved one) ask you, you will give (him/her) living water.   Lord, we know that there is only one place to get this living water.  (Our loved one) can drink the water of this world and (he/she) will always be thirsty for more.  But Lord, your word says that if (our loved one) drinks the water YOU give (him/her)  (he/she) will never thirst again.  Lord I pray today that (our loved one) would drink the water that You give (him/her) and that it will become in (him/her) a spring of water welling up to a life of freedom!  We confidently cry out to you today!  In Jesus Name.  Amen!

Give Thanks

It is so important for us to not loose sight of the things we have to be grateful for.  Gratitude changes a heart.  When I am struggling to see the good in my loved one,  I can pause and set my thoughts on the many things I am thankful for.   Thank you Lord, that you love them.  Thank you that you created the perfectly and wonderfully.  Thank you for the fact that they are alive.

When we have gratitude in our heart it is impossible to be bitter or angry or selfish or rude.  It will instantly fill me with love for the people in my life that are sometimes hard to love.

It's part of working our own program of recovery.

So today's prayer is a prayer of gratitude, asking for nothing, but thanking him for all the good we have in our lives.
February 19, 2019  Our prayer for our loved one today:

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV [16] Rejoice always, [17] pray continually, [18] give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Lord, today is a difficult day for many of us.  For most, there is an empty seat at our tables and in our hearts.  We know of no other way to get through the difficulties then to press in to you and give thanks.  Today we rejoice, rejoice in the loved one you gave us and in [his/her] precious life.  Lord, we give thanks.  We give thanks for choosing us to be [our loved one's] family.  And Lord, we will pray continually until [our loved one] is home and fully alive in Christ Jesus our Lord.    We thank you Lord that we have a God we can come to who hears our prayers and who gives us the power and strength to walk through this day.   We pray today in your Son's precious name.  Amen

Our Heritage

Disappointment

Fear

Jealousy

Unforgiveness

Anxiety

That is not our heritage.

Our power is the power to refute every word, thought our action that does not align with the spirit of God.

From anger to calm

From judgement to acceptance

From expectations and disappointment to peace

From fear to courage

From jealousy to contentment

From unforgiveness to love

From anxiety to peace

That is our birthright.  That my friends, can be our legacy.

February 18, 2019  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Isaiah 54:17 NIV [17] no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,

Spirit of God, we believe that you have established us in righteousness.  We believe that your promises are proven and right.  We speak life and truth over [our loved one] today.  In Christ Jesus we proclaim this promise that no weapon forged against [our loved one] or anyone else in our family will prevail.  We refute any lie against [our loved one] and denounce any accusation against [him/her].  We accept the heritage that you have given us and [our loved one].  We pray that our whole family would walk in the knowledge of the truth of your love, your forgiveness and your abundant life today.  In Jesus Name we pray!  Amen

HIS MERCIES ARE NEW EVERY MORNING

The words from a sweet mama, sitting across from me with tears streaming down her face.  “I feel like such a failure.  It seems when it comes to dealing with my loved one, I do everything wrong.”  I understood her feelings all to well.  My response to her was that we all have.  Walking through the valley of the shadows is dark, difficult and lonely.  There is no guidebook or manual.  And we fail.

And there is grace.  There is grace because of what He did for us on the cross.

And as we receive His grace, we must pass it on.  We must remember that they need grace too.  The ones you love...they need grace.

And His word says, "Your mercies are new every morning."  We get to start over.  We get to push the reset button.  And there is no limit to how many times we can do that.  Because His mercies are infinite.

I pray today that we would be easy on ourselves, that we would step into all the grace that He has for us.  And as we receive His grace I pray we would be able to extend it to the ones who need it the most.

February 17, 2019  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Lamentations 3:22-26 NIV [22] Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. [23] They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. [24] I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” [25] The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; [26] it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

Lord God, we praise you today because your love for us and your love for (our loved one) is great and vast and wonderful! Lord I believe that you pour your love down on us continually!

Because of your great love we don't have to be consumed by the difficulties we face.  Lord, we pray that (our loved one) will not be consumed by (his/her) situation.  Lord we pray that (our loved one) would be enveloped by your love and your compassion, because they NEVER fail!  Thank you that your mercies for us and for (our loved one) are new every morning, every minute actually.  Thank you that your faithfulness in (our loved one's) life is great, is massive really!  Abba daddy, you are MY portion. I will wait patiently for you because I trust that you are faithful!  We know that you are always good to those who hope in you.  We wait with that hope for (our loved one's) life to change as (he/she) chooses to seek You.    Lord we wait quietly, expectantly for (our loved one's) salvation, both (his/her) eternal salvation and (his/her) salvation and deliverance from the strongholds in (his/her) life.  We pray this in Jesus Name!  Amen.

Not too Lost

He hears our cries sweet friends.  He listens to our pleas, even from the depths of the pit.

And He is whispering in your ear today...."Do not fear.  I will redeem your life.   I will redeem your loved one's life."

No one is too lost to be saved.

That is the hope I walk in today.

February 16, 2019 Our Prayer for our Loved One today:

Lamentations 3:55-58 NIV [55] I called on your name, Lord, from the depths of the pit. [56] You heard my plea: “Do not close your ears to my cry for relief.” [57] You came near when I called you, and you said, “Do not fear.” [58] You, Lord, took up my case; you redeemed my life.
Father God, you are our defender Lord.  You guard us and protect us.  Today (our loved one) is in the pit.  Lord, we pray that (he/she) will call on Your name from the depths of the deep, that dark hole they are encased in.  Lord, hear our plea for relief, hear (our loved one's) plea for relief...for (his/her) cry for help!  Lord, we know that you come near to us when we call to you!  Lord, draw near to (our loved one).  Whisper in (his/her) ear..."Do not fear."  Lord, we ask that you take up (our loved one's) case and that today You redeem (our loved one's) life, as only you can do.  Lord, we pray this prayer in your Son's precious name.  Amen

Open Heart Surgery

God can perform open heart surgery! He did it to my heart some 28 years ago. I was the woman at the well. I was the selfish, unloving, narcissistic, money hungry, unengaged Pharisee. My addictions were not drugs and alcohol (although I used them as an excuse for bad behavior at times) but the ugly in my life ran deep.

And He changed all of that. Because he is the God of open heart surgery. And he took my stony heart and turned it to a heart of flesh. In his perfect timing. Because I didn't want to lose everything.
And He can do that in a blink with our loved one.

Confident this is coming, in His perfect timing.

February 15, 2019 Our Prayer for our Loved One Today:

Ezekiel 36:26-28 NIV [26] I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. [27] And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. [28]...you will be my people, and I will be your God.

Lord, we come before you this morning knowing that you are the great physician. Lord, you took our pain and our infirmities and nailed them on the cross with you. Lord, I pray today that you will perform "open heart surgery" on (our loved one). Lord, we pray today that you will give (our loved one) a new heart and put a new spirit in (him/her). Lord we ask that you would remove (our loved one's) heart of stone and give (him/her) a heart of flesh. Lord, we ask that you put a new spirit in (our loved one) and move (our loved one) to follow your decrees and desire to keep you laws. Lord, we look forward to the day when (our loved one) comes back to you and (he/she) will be your people again and you will be (his/her) God! We are confident in your perfect plan for (his/her) life. We ask this in your Son's precious name! Amen!

Love Never Fails

Today, may you grasp how much he loves you.

He loves you fully.  He loves you in the heaviness, the fear, the doubt and the resignation.

And as he loves us, so we are called to love fully in the messiness of it all.

Because love never fails.

February 14, 2019 Our prayer for Our Loved One today:

1 Corinthians 13:7 ESV [7] Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Merciful Father, we come to you today knowing….knowing how much you love us.  Knowing how much you believe in us.  Knowing how much you desire that each one of us step into the fullness you have for us in this life.  Lord we ask that you would give is the strength to bear up under the load we are carrying, the imagination to believe the goodness of heaven on Earth today, the power of hope in the restoration of our family and the perseverance to endure any struggle that comes our way today.  We pray for [our loved one] today.  [He/she] is carrying a boulder that is far too heavy for [him/her].  Give [him/her] the strength to bear up under the weight of all that [he/she] is carrying today.  Lord, we ask that you will fill [our loved one’s] mind with the dreams and visions for [his/her] future that you have given [him/her] so [he/she] can begin to walk in that truth.  We pray that you would fill [our loved one’s] heart to overflowing with the hope that only begins to well up as a result of your love.  And we ask that you would fill [our loved one’s] spirit with the determination to endure through the struggles, knowing that just beyond this mountain [he/she] is climbing are your streams of living water.  Lord, we know that love never fails.  Lord, we receive this gift from you today and pray these things in your holy name.  Amen.

I Am Safe

Lord, keep my loved ones safe...

Hide them in your precious shelter...

And one day...

Set them high on your rock...

To triumphantly sing Your praises and shout for joy!

February 13, 2019 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 27:4-5 NIV [4] One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple[5] For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.

Father God, there is one thing that I ask of you today, one thing that I seek; that [our loved one] would dwell in your house all of the rest of the days of [his/her] life, that [our loved one] would gaze upon your beauty and that [our loved one] would seek you in your holy temple.   I pray that in [our loved one’s] moments of trouble that you would keep [him/her] safe in your dwelling place;  that you would protect [our loved one] in the shelter of Your sacred tent and that You would set [our loved one] high upon a rock.  Lord I humbly ask that You hold [our loved one] in the palm of your hand today.  In Jesus name we pray.  Amen!

Live Free

Most often the things we try to control end up controlling us.  They end up consuming us.

We don't have to be a slave to worry, fear, anger and addiction.  In Him we are free.  In Him we have peace.  In Him we have pure love and can supernaturally love others.  Not in our own strength but through His strength that resides in us.

And today I pray that our loved ones would cry out for that strength.

The strength through Him to live free!

February 12, 2019 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Galatians 5:1,13A NIV [1] It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. [13] You, my brothers and sisters were called to be free!

Thank you Lord!  Thank you that you love us beyond measure!  Thank you that you had a perfect plan for each one of us to live freely when you sent your son.  He was broken so we could be healed.  Lord He came to set me free and He came to set (our loved one) free!  Lord, my prayer today is that (our loved one) would embrace that freedom.  I pray (he/she) would stand firm today and allow you to remove, once and for all, the yoke of slavery from (his/her) shoulders, never again to bear that burden. Lord, I pray that (our loved one) would step into the inheritance that you gave (him/her) when you sacrificed your son on the cross, that (he/she) is called to be free!   Lord, we praise you today for your power to break every chain!   We pray this in Jesus precious name!  Amen

Truth Is

The lies of the enemy will hold us captive.

“I am a failure”

“I am not good enough”

“I caused these problems.”

“This will never change.”

Freedom comes when we believe the truth.

The truth is....God LOVES you!

The truth is....God LOVES your prodigal more than you do!

The truth is....there is NO condemnation through Christ!!!

The truth is....He is able to break any and every chain!!!

The truth is...NO weapon forged against you or your loved one’s can prevail.

Walk in truth and you will walk in freedom today.

February 11, 2019  Our prayer for our loved one today.

John 8:32 NIV [32] Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Lord, we come to you in love and adoration today with a heart of gratitude, because your word gives us hope!  We know in our hearts that we can fully put our trust in you and you alone.  Lord, today we pray that you will reveal truth to us and to [our loved one].  We believe that where Your truth exists, chains will be broken and [our loved one] will be set free!  I pray against any lies that I or [our loved one] might be believing.  Give us clarity and purpose and give us the power and strength to walk in that truth today.  We pray this in your son's precious name!  Amen.

His Love Will Lead Them Home

In the middle of all of the ugly...

It is so easy to forget to thank God for all that we have. And if we were to be honest, it's sometimes hard just to find things to thank God for with our loved one.

But we must do it anyway...

Focus on who they are in Christ, who God created them to be...

It is the one sure way to change our heart...

From anxiety to peace...

From anger to calm...

And from the darkness of hate to the light of love...

Because love will lead them home.

February 10, 2019 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Ephesians 1:16-18 NLT [16] I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, [17] asking God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God[18] I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called-his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.

Lord, I will not stop giving thanks to You for my [loved one]. I will pray for [him/her] constantly. I ask today that you would give [our loved one] spiritual wisdom and insight so that [our loved one] might come to a knowledge of you. I pray that [our loved one's] heart will be flooded with light so that [our loved one] can understand the confident hope that you can give [our loved one] because you have given [loved one] a rich and glorious inheritance! Thank you Lord for the work you are doing in [our loved one's] life. We pray this today in Your Son's Precious and Holy Name! Amen!

You are My Song

This...

This is as real as it gets...

Pain...

Darkness..

The lost causes...

The abandoned...

The hopeless cases...

The smell of certain death...

And then, the quiet whisper of our Abba Daddy that says...

I am with you.   I have redeemed you.  I will save you.

May you hear that whisper today.   May your loved one hear it today as well....those words that say “you are loved.”

February 9, 2019  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 88:1-8, 89:1 MSG [1-8] God, you're my last chance of the day. I spend the night on my knees before you. Put me on your salvation agenda; take notes on the trouble I'm in. I've had my fill of trouble; I'm camped on the edge of hell. I'm written off as a lost cause, one more statistic, a hopeless case. Abandoned as already dead, one more body in a stack of corpses, And not so much as a gravestone--- I'm a black hole in oblivion. You've dropped me into a bottomless pit, sunk me in a pitch-black abyss. I'm caught in a maze and can't find my way out, blinded by tears of pain and frustration.  Your love, God, is my song, and I'll sing it!  I'm forever telling everyone how faithful you are.  I'll never quit telling the story of your love.

Lord God, we cry out to you today because you are our last chance!  We spend day and night on our knees before you.  Lord, we pray on behalf of (our loved one).  We ask that you put (our loved one) on your salvation agenda!  Lord, take note of the trouble (he/she) is in.  My heart knows that (our loved one) has had (his/her) fill of trouble.  (He/she) is camped on the edge of hell.  Most have written (him/her) off as a lost cause, as one of the statistics, as a hopeless case.  Lord, many have abandoned (our loved one) as already gone.   (Our loved one) is in a black hole today, in a bottomless pit, an abyss.  (He/she) is caught in a maze of destruction that (he/she) can't get out of.  (He/she) is blinded by tears of pain and frustration.  But Lord, we believe in Your precious love.  We believe You will save (our loved one).  Abba Daddy,  You are faithful and one day (our loved one) will sing of Your love and never quit telling the story of how You saved (him/her).  Lord, we pray this prayer today with confidence!  We ask these things in Your mighty, mighty name.  Amen.

Nothing Can Separate Us

One of the things that I know many of us have struggled with is not just dealing with the stronghold of addictions or mental health issues, but that in many cases, our loved ones walk away from their faith.

So friends, if you are struggling with this today, please hear me when I say this...

NOTHING can separate us from God's love.  NOTHING. Not one thing you do or I do or our loved ones do can change that.  He loves us immeasurably more than we could ever imagine.  And he loves our loved ones right now, right where they are at no matter how fast they are running from him.  So be assured, that NEVER EVER changes.

And as we are to love like our Heavenly Father, my heart is to demonstrate that same steadfast love.   Do I love my prodigal in a way, that when he chooses to change, he will want to come home to the Lord?

I pray today that you will walk in this assurance.

NOTHING, NOTHING can separate us from His love!

February 7, 2019 Our prayer for our loved one today.  As you pray, put your loved one's name in the blanks:

Romans 8:37-39 NIV [37] No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. [38] For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, [39] neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Lord, we come before you today grateful.  Grateful for your promises and for your son's death on the cross.  Because Lord, we believe these words today.  That in ALL things _______ can be more than a conqueror because of YOU who loves __________ immensely!  Lord, we are convinced that NOTHING...not death or life, angels or demons, not the present or the future or ANY powers; not heights or depths or anything else in all of creation could EVER separate __________ from your love that is in Christ Jesus.  Oh Lord, it is easy to love the lovable God but there are days when I am unlovable and my child is unlovable.  We THANK YOU today that your love is constant and exorbitant and never-ending.  We pray today that _____________will feel that love raining down on __________.  And we ask Lord, that you would fill my heart with that kind of love for (our loved one).  We thank you and praise you and ask these things in Jesus precious name.  Amen!!!

All Things are Possible with God

Not long ago I had the delusion that if I did something different, if I would have been different,  if I controlled more or monitored more or played more or loved more...

that somehow I could do the saving.

But over the years I've learned that's not up to me.

There is only one that can do the saving and one who can asked to be rescued.

Scary to surrender.  But a relief to know the saving isn't up to me.   And what was entirely impossible for me...

Is entirely possible with God.

February 6, 2019  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Mark 10:26-27 NIV [26] The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, “Who then can be saved?” [27] Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”

Lord, we come to you today humbled.  Humbled because we've tried to do the saving and it just hasn't worked.  Humbled because we realize that we don't have that kind of control or that kind of power.  And humbled because we know the only hope for saving is through you.  Lord, we believe in our hearts that You are the only one who can save (our loved one).  And that one day, (he/she) will whisper "rescue me Lord."  We recognize that without You, this is impossible, but with You ALL things are possible.  Lord we thank you that You are able to bring about in (our loved one's) life what we can not.  Lord we surrender (our loved one) to You.  And we thank you for what you are about to do.  We pray this in your Son's precious name.  Amen.
