Light and Hope

Mornings are always a time when I reflect on all the good in my life, all the blessings that our gracious God has lavished on us.  And it’s always a time for me to pray those blessings over others.  

As you pray this prayer for your loved one today, know that I am praying it over you all.  

May He protect you and strengthen you...

May He grant you the desires of your heart and may all of your plans succeed...

May you walk in victory in His name...

And may all of your prayers be answered...

August 10, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 20:1-2,4-5 NLT
[1] In times of trouble, may the LORD answer your cry. May the name of the God of Jacob keep you safe from all harm. [2] May he send you help from his sanctuary and strengthen you from Jerusalem. [4] May he grant your heart's desires and make all your plans succeed. [5] May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God. May the LORD answer all your prayers.

Lord, in dark days, in hard times, it’s difficult for us to see light and hope.  Lord, we thank you for your words of truth that we can rely on even when we can’t see through the dark.  Lord we come to you today heavy and burdened, in this time of trouble and ask that you answer our cry. We pray that when (our loved one) cries out to you, you will hear (his/her) cry.  We pray you keep (our loved one) safe from all harm.  We ask that you send (him/her) just the right help in the right time and that you strengthen (our loved one) as only you can.  We pray that you will grant (our loved one) (his/her) heart’s desires, the passions and dreams that you put inside (him/her)  and that you will make all of those plans succeed.   Lord, we believe with our whole heart that one day soon we will shout for joy, because of your victory in (our loved one’s) life and we will raise a victory banner in the your precious name.  Lord, we agree that one day soon we will share in the joy of these answered prayers that we ask in your son’s holy name.  Amen

I Am With You

A simple promise..

He is always with us, watching over all of us. 

And He WILL bring them back to us one day.  His love will lead us home.

January 7, 2018  Our prayer for our loved one today: 

Genesis 28:15 NIV
[15] I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you. ”

Father God, we come before you today confident that your word is truth and that you will never leave us and never leave (our loved one).  Lord, we pray that you will be with (our loved one) today and that you will watch over (him/her) wherever (he/she) may go.  We believe that one day you will bring (him/her)  back to "this land" - to us...to (his/her) family, to those who love (him/her).  Lord, we believe today that you will not ever leave (our loved one) and that you will do what you have promised, that your love will lead (him/her) home.  Lord, we trust in your words this morning.  Lord we ask that they would give us peace.  In Jesus Name we pray!  Amen.

It Willl Not Be Overdue

As we walk through fear and doubt and hopelessness our armor is to keep His promises in front of us.   While we can't see it, he is creating a beautiful tapestry in each of our lives.  The finished product won't be revealed until we meet him face to face. But be assured that what may look ugly to us right now, will come together in the end to be something incredible.   I believe with all my heart that God will use all of this pain, all of the knots, all of the insanity for something very beautiful.  

August 8, 2018 Our Prayer for Our Loved One Today

Habakkuk 2:3 TLB
[3] But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day!

Lord we come before you today worried, fearful, anxious, doubting.  What we see around us doesn't always reconcile with your love.  So we question.  But your word gives us confidence.  Your word says that you are working behind the scenes right now in (our loved one's) life.  That even though we can't see your work yet, that slowly, steadily and surely the time is approaching when the vision for (our loved one) will be fulfilled.   And because of your promises, Lord, we will not despair because we trust that these things will come to past in our life and in (our loved ones) life.  Help us to be patient as we walk this difficult journey waiting, trusting, believing that the moment, that moment when (our loved one) says “yes, Lord” will be in your perfect timing and will not be overdue a single moment.  Lord we honor your promises and rest in them today.  In Jesus precious name we pray.  Amen.

A New Creation

Not long ago I was talking to a mom, so much like myself.  Where the deep wounds of our past drove us to behave a certain way in the here and now.  Needing love.  Needing control.  Needing justification.  Needing validation.  Needing to atone for the sins of our past or the sins that were perpetrated on us in our past.

Because we didn’t believe that we were worthy.

Because we didn’t believe that we could be completely healed.

Because we didn’t believe that we were “enough.”  

But in Him, my friends..you are more than enough.

You have been made new!  Nothing in your past justifies OR holds you back.  

If you want to be completely free, believe this one thing today.

You have been made new!

August 7, 2018  Our prayer for our loved one today:

2 Corinthians 5:17,19 NLT [17] This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! [19] For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.

Oh Lord our Lord, what a glorious God you are!  You have given us an amazing gift.  The gift of new life in You.  We pray today for this revelation in (our loved one).  Because of your death on the cross, we believe that (our loved one) can become a new creation through you.   (His/her) old life will be completely gone and (his/her) new life will begin.  What a day that will be.  Lord, for those of us who love you and have already received this gift, we request of you today that (our loved one) would once and for all be reconciled with you. We believe this day of reconciliation will come in your perfect timing and ask Lord that it would come quickly.  Lord we thank you for your gift of rebirth through Christ!  In Jesus name we pray.  Amen!

I Belong to the Lord

Isaiah 44.  I heard it as clear as if it were my husbands voice in the room.  Isaiah 44.  Wait…what?  I was completely alone, sitting on my precious chair, with my even more precious coffee cup next to me.  And again….Isaiah 44.  I had heard stories of people hearing the voice of God.  It talks about that in the Bible…you know Saul literally falling off of his horse because God spoke to him.   I know God can do this, but it had never ever happened to me.  At that moment,  I had no other choice but to open my Bible to Isaiah 44 and this was the promise that God gave me.  

I believe whether he says it out loud to you or not, His promises are for ALL of us.  This promise is for you my friend.  And when we are walking through the valley of the shadows, the ONLY thing I have complete assurance in is that His promises are true and for each one of us, for such a time as this.

Hold on today, dear sisters and brothers.  It will get better.

August 6, 2018  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Isaiah 44:2-5 NIV
[2] This is what the Lord says---he who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you: Do not be afraid, Jacob, my servant, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen. [3] For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. [4] They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams. [5] Some will say, ‘I belong to the Lord’...

Lord we honor and glorify you this morning knowing that you created each of us perfectly and wonderfully.  We thank you for forming (our loved one) in the womb and for your desire to help (our loved one).  We pray that you cast out all fear that (our loved one) may have today because You have chosen (him/her).  Lord just as only you can poor water on a thirsty land and create streams of water through a dry ground, we believe that You will poor our Your Spirit on (our loved one) and rain blessings down on (him/her).  Then (our loved one) will spring up like grass in a meadow, like a poplar tree by a flowing stream.  We believe that in that moment (our loved one) will say "I BELONG TO THE LORD."  We eagerly await that day and will not stop praying until it comes to pass.  We thank you for your faithfulness and power in our lives.  We pray this in Jesus Name!  Amen.

You Are Chosen

You are CHOSEN.

You are loved by God
You are called by God
You are chosen by God

Each one of us is.  No one is excluded.  It’s just a matter of when we are going to step into that truth.  

He sees you my friends.  He knows what you are going through.  And he alone can take your pain, your struggles, your messes and make them into something marvelous in your life and the life of others.

Today I  thank God that he chose my baby boy and pray with all my soul that soon he will step into the abundant life God has waiting for him. 

August 5, 2018  Our prayer for our loved one today:

1 Peter 2:9-10 MSG
[9-10] But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God's instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you---from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.

Father we humbly come before you today acknowledging what you did on the cross for us.  Your death has made us chosen by God.  Lord, I believe that (our loved one) was chosen for a high calling, chosen to be a Holy person, chosen as one of your special instruments to do Your work and speak out for You!!  I believe that one day (our loved one) will give testimony to the night and day difference that You have made for (our loved one) in (his/her) life!   I praise you Father God that through Your death You have made (our loved one) a new creation.  From nothing...to something, from rejected to accepted!  I believe that this is already done and will come to pass in your perfect timing.  I lay claim to these words in your Son's precious name today!  Amen!!

The Call

The call that their loved one is in jail…

The call that their loved one has OD’d…

The call that their loved one is back out there…

The call that there will be a funeral next week…

You may have gotten that call yesterday, or the day before.  

Or you may get it today.

And you feel abandoned…

Do not doubt for one second that God sees you.  He knows exactly what you are going through today. 

And He is saying to you right now, “Call on me.  Come to me.  Just say the word.  And I will deliver you from fear, from anxiety, from hopelessness.”  

And God is whispering to your loved one today “Come home.”

December 7, 2014  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 50:15 NKJV
[15] Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me."

Lord, we come before you today determined to remain faithful in prayer.   We are grateful that you are a God of grace and a God of mercy.  And as we are faithful to pray, we believe that you are faithful to answer us as we cry out to you.  Lord, we call upon you today in our day of trouble and on behalf of (our loved one) who is struggling.  We pray that (our loved one) will call on you today and that You would hear (his/her) cry and You would deliver (our loved one).   We believe that when that day comes, when you deliver (our loved one) that (he/she) WILL glorify you!  We pray that this vision will come to pass quickly Lord, but we trust and believe it will happen in Your perfect timing.  Lord, we are thankful that we can trust in Your sovereign plan for our lives.  We pray this prayer in Your Son's precious name!  Amen!

Refresh Me Lord

Stressed...

Beaten down...

Bruised and bloody from the battle...

We are in a war.  It is raging all around us...

And we are tired...

We are weary.

This simple prayer is for all of us.  Lord I need you to refresh me.  Refresh my sisters and brothers who are battle weary today.   And refresh our loved ones who are struggling to break free from the shackles that hold them captive.  

August 3, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Jeremiah 31:25 NIV [25] I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.”

Lord, we come to you today weary, weak and wounded.  We are determined but tired.  And Lord we know that (our loved one) is tired too.  We know that the raging battle within (our loved one) is fierce and (he/she) is beaten down, bruised and bloody.   Lord,You are the One that can reach in and rescue (him/her). We pray that you would refresh (our loved one) today.  Give (him/her) a renewed energy to fight the battle (he/she) is in.  We know (he/she) is faint....we ask that you satisfy (him/her) in a way that only You can.  We surrender to you.  We surrender (our loved one) to you.  We pray for the strength for each of us to fight another day.  In your Son's precious name.  Amen.

What the Enemy Steals, God Can Restore

One of the things that addiction stole from me, in the middle of the horrible chaos in our home, was empathy and compassion.  

It stole from me the ability to see my loved one’s value and to see their struggle and suffering.  I got to the point where all I saw was the manipulation, the lies, the negative choices and I lost sight of grace and mercy.

It’s hard to feel compassion for someone who is hurting you.  It’s hard to imagine the struggle they may be going through, when time and again, their actions actually cause the struggle.  It’s hard to picture them suffering, when their behavior is causing you great suffering.

So if you're having difficulty seeing your loved one through our Heavenly Father's eyes today, pray with me.  It may not immediately change their circumstances or our circumstances but it will definitely change our hearts.e of the things that addiction stole from me, in the middle of the horrible chaos in our home, was empathy and compassion.  

November 23, 2014  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 25:16-18,20,22 NIV
[16] Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. [17] Relieve the troubles of my heart and free me from my anguish. [18] Look on my affliction and my distress and take away all my sins. [20] Guard my life and rescue me; do not let me be put to shame, for I take refuge in you. [22] Deliver Israel, O God, from all their troubles!

Father God, we come before you today expectantly, knowing you are working in our lives.  We call out to you on behalf of (our loved one) today.  We pray that You would turn to (our loved one) and be gracious to (him/her) for (he/she) is lonely and afflicted.  Lord, relieve the trouble of (our loved one's) heart and free (him/her) from (his/her) anguish.  Look to (his/her) affliction and (his/her) distress and take any oppression away from (him/her).  Guard (our loved one's) life and rescue (him/her).  We ask that you do not let (our loved one) be overwhelmed with shame and that (he/she) would chose to take refuge in you alone!  Deliver (our loved one) oh Lord from all of (his/her) troubles.  We ask this today because we know that you love (our loved one) more than we do and we won't stop asking until these things come to pass.  In Jesus precious name we pray.  Amen!!

Angels Walking

Recently a friend told me of this amazing story where she was at an airport and a woman kept looking at her.  The woman walked away and then a few moments later came back.  She had a note for my friend.  It was a sentence that only my friend would be able to understand, written, I believe by the hands of an angel just for her.  A hand delivered message from God.

It happens.  Angels are walking on this Earth.  And sometimes people, who get a message from the spirit and act on it, are walking angels as well.

Light and truth can come in many different ways.  Through people, through a song, through something that is read, and sometimes even through a voice that is heard.

However it comes, today I am praying for that light and truth to come to my loved one.  The whisper that says "come home.”

November 14, 2014  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 43:3 NLT
[3] Send out your light and your truth; let them guide me. Let them lead me to your holy mountain, to the place where you live.

Lord God, we believe today that light always shines through the darkness.  And you are light.  You have overcome the darkness.  Lord, we pray that you would send out Your light and Your truth to (our loved one).  Whether it comes through an angel, a person, a moment of clarity…we pray that this light and truth would guide (him/her) back to you Lord and back to us.  We pray that it would lead (our loved one) to a place where (he/she) will find rest and healing in You, because in YOU there is life.  Lord, we believe today that this promise will be fulfilled in your perfect timing.  We wait patiently for you.  In Your Son's precious name we pray.  Amen!

I Can’t. He Can

December 1, 2014 Our Prayer For Our Loved One Today

Philippians 4:13 NIV
[13] I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

Lord, I am weak today.  I am weary.  I am tired.  I sit at your feet and ask for more.  I need more of you Lord.  More confidence that you will give me everything I need today to be strong.  I admit that I can’t do this on my own.  But in you and through your strength, I can.  Lord, we come before you today on behalf of (our loved one).  Lord, we believe that it is You who gives strength to the weak and power to the powerless.  We ask that you would infuse (our loved one) today with Your strength so that (our loved one) can make the next right choice.  We thank you for Your faithfulness in our lives!  In Jesus Holy Name we pray!  Amen.

No One Is Ever Too Lost To Be Saved

He asks, "Do you trust me?"

I say "Of course Lord, I trust you."

He says, "Do you really really trust me?"

He says, "Then surrender.  Let me handle this.  I am fighting this battle for you in ways you can't even imagine!"

I say, "Yes Lord" as I wave my white flag!

And then... He turns to my loved one and says:

“Call to me and I'll answer....

I'll be by your side in bad times...

I'll rescue you....”

Words that I hold on to tightly.  Words that I pray.  Words of comfort and hope.

April 30, 2018 Our Prayer for our Loved One today:

Psalm 91:1-16 MSG
[1-13]  God , you're my refuge. I trust in you and I'm safe!" That's right---he rescues you from hidden traps, shields you from deadly hazards. His huge outstretched arms protect you--- under them you're perfectly safe; his arms fend off all harm....Yes, because God 's your refuge, ...Evil can't get close to you, harm can't get through the door. He ordered his angels to guard you wherever you go. If you stumble, they'll catch you; their job is to keep you from falling. [14-16] "If you'll hold on to me for dear life," says God , "I'll get you out of any trouble. I'll give you the best of care if you'll only get to know and trust me.  Call me and I'll answer, be at your side in bad times; I'll rescue you...I'll give you a long life, give you a long drink of salvation!"

Abba Father...We come before you on behalf of our loved one’s, our families... because you are our refuge and our hope in times of trouble.  We ask today that (our loved one) would trust in you and (he/she) would be safe!  Lord, rescue (our loved one) from hidden traps, shield (him/her) from all the deadly hazards in (his/her) life!  With your HUGE outstretched arms we pray protection over (our loved one) that under You (he/she) would be perfectly safe and that Your arms would fend off all harm.  YES God!  Because You are a refuge we pray that no evil would even be able to come close to (our loved one) and that NO harm would be able to get through the door of your protection.  Lord, we ask that you would order your angels to guard over (our loved one) wherever (he/she) goes.  If (our loved one) stumbles, we ask that Your angels will catch (him/her) and keep (him/her) from falling.  We believe that if (our loved one) will hold on to YOU for dear life You will help (him/her) out of (his/her) troubles!  We believe that you will care for (him/her) if the only trust in You!   Lord, we pray that (our loved one) will call on you and you will answer (him/her) and you will be by (his/her) side through ALL of the bad times. We ask that you would rescue (our loved one) today and that you will give (our loved one) a long life and the long drink of salvation.  Lord, we believe these words today!  In Jesus name we pray!  Amen

May The Lord Bless You

In the middle of the difficulties it is often so hard to stop and look at our loved one as a valued human being.  We are often so at war with them that everything becomes about the battle or about the saving and the loving is pushed back.

So today let's stop for a moment and just close our eyes and picture our loved ones the way God does.  Whole and healed and lovable.  

And then let's pray this blessing over them this morning. 

July 28, 2018  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Numbers 6:24-26 NLT
[24] 'May the Lord bless you and protect you. [25] May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. [26] May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.'

Lord today our hearts are filled with love for You because you are the author of life.  Our hearts are filled with love for (our loved one) because you divinely appointed us to be (our loved one's) mom.  Lord today we pray blessings over (our loved one).  Lord we ask in love that you bless (our loved one) and protect (him/her).  Lord will you smile on (our loved one)) and be gracious to (him/her).  Lord will you show Your favor on (our loved one) and more than anything today will you give (him/her) the peace that passes understanding.  Lord thank you that you are the Holy One who IS love!  We ask these things in your son's name today.  Amen

Living Water

Our souls were created with a longing to be filled.  God created us to be filled with Him.  

We look to the things that he created to fill our spirits rather than to the creator himself.  Especially when we feel lost or alone or broken, we look to our friends (who often fail us), we look to our spouses (who can disappoint us), we look to money (and we always come up short), we look to our corporate success (and that completely stresses us out).   We may even look to drugs or alcohol ourselves (I need that cigarette or I deserve that glass of wine.)

But the only thing that is truly going to fill our empty souls and the only thing that is going to truly fill our loved ones empty souls, is if we drink the living water, the source of life itself, that comes from God above.

Praying today that you would drink from the refreshing well of his love and his peace.  And praying that our loved ones would do the same.

July 28, 2018  Our prayer for our loved one today:

John 4:10-11,13-14 NIV

[10] Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” [11] Where can you get this living water? [13] Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, [14] but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

Good morning Father God.  The words of Jesus bring hope to us this morning.  You have a gift you want to give (our loved one) today.  Lord, we know that if (our loved one) ask you, you will give (him/her) living water.   We believe that there is only one place to get this living water.  (Our loved one) can drink the water of this world and (he/she) will always be thirsty for more.  But Lord, your word says that if (our loved one)drinks the water YOU give (him/her)  (he/she) will never thirst again.  We pray today that (our loved one) would drink the water that You give (him/her) and that it will become in (him/her) a spring of water welling up to a life of freedom!  We confidently call this in to being today!  In Jesus Name.  Amen!

His Love Will Lead Them Home

Redeem: To buy back, to claim.  We have been claimed, my friend.  We all have been claimed.  We were bought for the price of a life.  Every last one of us.  The greatest gift of love ever given.

And as He has loved us, so our love and compassion towards our loved one will keep us connected to them...

Love will guide them home...

July 27, 2018  Our prayer for our loved one today

Exodus 15:13 NIV

[13] In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling.

Oh Lord, you love reaches to the heavens.  It rains down on us to overflowing.  Lord, today, in that unfailing love we pray that you will take (our loved one) by the hand lead (our loved one), who you have redeemed.  In Your strength, in the way that only You can, guide (our loved one) to you and guide them home.   Lord, we know that Your desire is for each one of us to rest in You.  Lord, we pray that you would draw us all near to you today and hold us in your mighty hand.  In Jesus precious name.  Amen

Whisper “Yes”

When I first read these words in the Message Bible I was stunned.  I thought “did the author of these verse have a crystal ball into the future, into my families life?”  

It seems they were written for us and for our loved one for such a time as today.  

When WE hit bottom our lives change.  When I hit bottom my life changed.  I did cry my eyes out.  I was on my knees before my God. And then I DID get serious about changing me and I started working my own recovery program.  

Now I pray this for our whole family.  Lord, work your will in our lives, in our loved ones lives.  Help us say no to darkness and yes! to you!

July 26, 2018  Our prayer for our loved one today:

James 4:7-10 MSG

[7-10] So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he'll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom, and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it's the only way you'll get on your feet.

Father God, we humbly enter your sanctuary on behalf of (our loved one) today.  Lord God we pray today that you would work Your will in (our loved one).  We pray that (our loved one) would yell a loud NO to the devil and the devil would scamper!  We pray that (our loved one) would say a quiet YES to You Lord and you would be there immediately for (him/her).  We pray that (our loved one) would quit dabbling in sin.  We pray you would purify (his/her) inner life.  We pray (he/she) would quit playing around and that (our loved one) would hit bottom and cry out to you!!!  Lord, it's time for (our loved one's) fun and games to be over and for (him/her) to get serious, REALLY serious.  We ask that you would compel (our loved one) to get down on (his/her)  knees before You as we know it is the only way (he/she) will ever get back on (his/her) feet.  We trust that You will bring this to pass in your perfect timing.  In Jesus Name we pray!  Amen

U-Turns

A former dealer and felon.....now an LADC counselor.

A former prostitute....now helps people get into treatment.

A former adulterer...now ministers to the homeless.

A former alcoholic....now runs a company.

A former addict....now a pastor.

These are the stories of u-turns.  The stories of deliverance.  These are the stories of real people, after 10, 20 or more years of oppression being set free.

These are the stories we must keep in front of us every day.  Because these are the stories of hope.

July 25, 2018  Our prayer for our loved one today:

2 Corinthians 6:2 Voice
[2] For God says through Isaiah, When the time was right, I listened to you; and that day you were delivered, I was your help. Look, now the time is right! See, your day of deliverance is here!

Father God, we know that your heart breaks when any of your children fall away from you.  Lord, we believe that before today you set things in motion for (our loved one), that you already know the appointed time for everything.   Lord, we ask that today Your compassion would be upon (our loved one) and that (he/she) would cry out to You.  We pray that TODAY would be the day of deliverance for (our loved one) and that You would listen to (him/her) cry for help and set (him/her) free!   Lord, we believe Your word is truth.  We know that you have a plan and purpose for (our loved one’s) life.  We have faith that Your favor would come upon (our loved one) and that this would be the day (he/she) will move from death to life.  In your son’s precious name we pray.  Amen.

From Darkness to Light

Not long ago during one of our ministries church services,  I met a young man named Dragan.  He was just 23.  I asked him if I could pray with him and he said "Not yet." So we engaged in conversation.  I asked him why he didn't want me to pray with him.  I wanted to know his story.  He said he had been kicked out by his parents at 14 or 15 and hadn't seen them since.  They are gypsy's and he has no idea where they are.  He was living on the streets, living hard with addictions, felonies.  Said he had been sober a couple of years now.  7 years ago he walked away from the Lord and had been wearing black ever since.  The black signified death and darkness, the pagan god that he followed.  He knew about God but thought he was too bad for Him.  He felt like he had done far too much wrong for God to love him or to take him back.   I talked to him for over a half hour.  I told him that God loved him and that nothing, NOTHING that he had ever done was too much for God to forgive.   I told him that even though his parents had abandoned him, God never ever would.  Tears streamed down his face.

At the end of our conversation I asked again if I could pray with him.  He said yes, please.  After we prayed his entire countenance changed.  Tears where streaming from his eyes and to me, it seemed his face was shining.   I asked him if he was ready to go from wearing his dark clothes (the clothes of death)  to wearing white clothes (the clothes of light).  He said yes.  

The next day, I went out and bought Dragon a light colored jacket.  But I never saw Dragon again.    And while I would love to see him, I trust the encounter I had with him that day was a divine appointment and that in some way, God changed him.  God certainly changed me.

You see my friends, you never know what God will do, who He will bring into your loved one's life to love on them, to minister to them, to pray with them, to help them move from bondage to freedom.  But our prayers get the soil ready.  It's why we have to keep praying.  It's why we can't lose hope.

July 24, 2018  Our prayer for our loved one today.

Romans 13:12-14 NLT
[12] The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living. [13] Because we belong to the day…[14] ….clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Oh Father, we come before You today with anticipation and excitement over the work that You are doing in (our loved one’s) life! We believe that the night, the dark times are nearly over for (our loved one)  and that the day (he/she) says “Yes Lord!”  is almost here!  We believe with confidence that very soon and in Your perfect timing (our loved one) will put aside (his/her) deeds of darkness, all that is holding (him/her) back in life, and put on the armor of right living!  Lord, we pray that (our loved one) would understand that (he/she) belongs to YOU, to the light, to the day and we eagerly anticipate the day when (he/she) comes before your presence to live for you!   We CONFIDENTLY claim these promises today in Jesus Powerful name!  Amen!

His Love Knows No Bounds

Hosea… The story of unconditional love.  Of redemption.  Of how even after Hosea’s wife prostitutes herself and keeps going back to her old life, Hosea still loves her.

And this story is in the Bible to show us a picture of God's relationship with us. 

No matter what we've done, no matter how deep the pit we are in is, no matter how lost we are...

God can find us, God can pull us out, God can transform us.

Because He loves us.  

That is hope.  And that is the promise that I cling to each day.

And as God continues to show us His unconditional love, by example we learn how to love others.   

Today I pray that I will love my tribe, my loved ones, the way God loves me.

July 23, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Hosea 14:4-5,7-9 NLT
[4] The Lord says, “I will heal you….”  My love will know no bounds… [5] I will be to Israel like a refreshing dew from heaven. Israel will blossom like the lily;  [7] My people will again live under my shade. They will flourish like grain and blossom like grapevines. 8] ...I am the one who answers your prayers and cares for you.  [9] Let those who are wise understand these things.  The paths of the Lord are true and right, and righteous people live by walking in them. 

Thank you Lord that you are a God who never gives up on us, that you pursue us!  Lord, your love never fails.  We thank you too, that your love for (our loved one) is constant and that your love knows no bounds.  We believe that you desire to heal (our loved one).  Lord, thank you that you promise to be like a refreshing dew from heaven for (our loved one) and that (he/she) will blossom like a lily.  Thank you for the promise that (our loved one) will soon live again under your shade and that (he/she) would flourish like grain and blossom like grapevines.   Lord, thank you that you are the one who answers all of our prayers and cares for us and for (our loved one)!  We agree that your paths are true and right.  We pray (our loved one) would chose to walk on that path and chose life today!  We pray this in your son's precious name!  Amen!

And how  deep...

His love for you is?

And as much as you love your loved one....

He loves them even more!

July 22, 2018. Our prayer for our loved one today:

Ephesians 3:14-19 NIV
[14] For this reason I kneel before the Father, [15] from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. [16] I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, [17] so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, [18] may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, [19] and to know this love that surpasses knowledge---that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Lord, we kneel before you today Father, at times distant, at times skeptical, mostly desperate.  Lord, we long to feel your presence Lord and even more we long for (our loved one) to feel you near to (him/her).  Lord, we pray today that out of Your glorious riches, you would strengthen (our loved one) in (his/her)  inner being, with the power of your Spirit, so that Christ would dwell in (his/her) heart through faith.   Lord, I pray that (our loved one) through Your power would grasp today, in this moment, just how wide, how long, how high and how deep Your exorbitant love is for (him/her).  Lord, I pray that (he/she) would know, deep in (his/her)  spirit, that it's this love and this power that will get (him/her) through this day.   Lord, we ask today that you would fill (our loved one) with the FULL measure of You!  Lord, we believe through this love (our loved one) can conquer anything.  Lord, we thank You in advance for what you are about to do in (our loved one's) life and wait in confidence today.  In your son's precious name we pray!  Amen
