Yesterday I sat with a beautiful wife. A wife who 4 months ago was suicidal and ready to divorce her husband. Everyone told her that she should because of her circumstances. But when the world told her to give up, God whispered in her ear that it wasn’t time.
And she started to change. Over the course of the last 4 months, she filled her mind on the truth. She started focusing on the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly. She started interacting with her husband with the vision of what she imagined him to be, not what he was.
And through tears yesterday she shared the miracle of change in her marriage and herself. She has peace. She has hope for the first time in years.
When we start to see things from a heavenly perspective things start to change. Our circumstances may not change right away, but WE start to change.
As you walk through your day today, see the beautiful. Step into that and pray that over your loved one. Miracles happen when we walk in truth.
November 3, 2018 Our Prayer for Our Loved One today
Philippians 4:8-9 MSG [8-9] Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious---the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.
Heavenly Father, we thank you today that you are always good, that you are the giver of all things wonderful. And I confess that I often take my eyes off of that truth, that I don’t always see the good in my life or my loved one. Lord, today I ask that I would fix my eyes on the beautiful and look for the miracles in this day, in this moment. Lord I pray that you would give me those eyes to see the beauty in (our loved one) as well. I praise you for (our loved one) and thank you for (his/her) value, regardless of (his/her) circumstances. Lord, I thank you that you are at work in (his/her) life and that when I see broken or “too far gone” You are just getting started. Lord I trust and believe today that You see (our loved one) perfect and worthy of praise. I ask that you move in my life and in (our loved one’s) life to create excellent harmonies today. I pray this in Your Son’s Holy Name. Amen
