Excellent Harmonies

My friends, our thoughts are so powerful.

When we look for the best, not the worst, the things to praise, not the things to complain about, the beautiful, not the ugly, our lives change.

And today I want to challenge you to not only practice that with your circumstances but also with your loved one.

Look for the beautiful and pray that beautiful into their very lives.

May 29, 2022 Our Prayer for Our Loved One today

Philippians 4:8-9 MSG [8-9] Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious---the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.

Heavenly Father, we thank you today that you are always good, that you are the giver of all things wonderful. I confess that I often take my eyes off of that truth, that I don’t always see the good in my life or my loved one. Lord, today I ask that I would purpose to fix my eyes on the beautiful and look for the miracles in this day, in this moment. I pray that you would give me those eyes to see the beauty in [our loved one] as well. I praise you for [our loved one] and thank you for [his/her] value, regardless of [his/her] circumstances. Lord, I thank you that you are at work in [his/her] life and that when I see broken or “too far gone” You are just getting started. I trust and believe that You see [our loved one] perfect and worthy of praise. I ask that you move in my life and in [our loved one’s] life to create excellent harmonies today. I pray this in Your Son’s Holy Name. Amen

Give Thanks

It is so important for us to not loose sight of the things we have to be grateful for. Gratitude changes a heart. When I am struggling to see the good in my loved one, see good in my circumstances or see good in the world, I can pause and set my thoughts on the many things I am thankful for.

When we have gratitude in our heart it is impossible to be bitter or angry or selfish or rude.

It will instantly fill me with love for the people in my life that are sometimes hard to love.

So today's prayer is a prayer of gratitude, asking for nothing, but thanking Him for all the good we have in our lives.

May 28, 2022 Our prayer for our loved one today:

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV [16] Rejoice always, [17] pray continually, [18] give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Lord, today is a difficult day for many of us. For most, there is an empty seat at our tables and in our hearts. We know of no other way to get through the difficulties then to press in to you and give thanks. Today we rejoice, rejoice in the loved one you gave us and in [his/her] precious life. Lord, we give thanks. We give thanks for choosing us to be [our loved one's] family. And Lord, we will pray continually until [our loved one] is home and fully alive in Christ Jesus our Lord. We thank you Lord that we have a God we can come to who hears our prayers and who gives us the power and strength to walk through this day. We pray today in your Son's precious name. Amen

He Brings Healing

For so many years, in the middle of all of the pain, it was difficult to picture an outcome that included my loved one being healed.

When our home was in upheaval, It was hard to imagine our home with peace and security.

But that is God’s desire for us and for our loved ones.

His promise is to bring healing into our lives.

And I will tell you that while we pray this over our loved ones He can give that to us LONG before our loved ones ever choose to change their lives. YOU are “His people.” You are the one today that he wants to bring health and healing to.

And one day, in His absolute perfect timing He will bring it to your loved one as well...

And you will be ready.

May 27, 2022 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Jeremiah 33:6 NIV [6] “ 'Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing.... I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security.

Oh Lord, we love you. And we trust you. Even when it hurts so bad, and it's so hard to believe, we trust the promises in your word. Lord, your word says YOU are our Jehovah Rapha, our great healer. And today we pray that healing over (our loved one). We believe that you alone have the power to make us whole. That you will heal (our loved one) and that you will allow (our loved one) to enjoy abundant peace and abundant security. We claim peace over (our loved one), we claim safety over (our loved one) and we claim LIFE over (our loved one). Lord, we thank you that according to your word it's already been done. Today fill us with that same peace and security to trust and not doubt as we surrender (our loved one) and give (him/her) to you today. We pray this in Jesus precious name. Amen!

No One is too Lost to be Saved

He hears our cries sweet friends. He listens to our pleas, even from the depths of the pit.

And He is whispering in your ear today....

"Do not fear. I will redeem your life. I will redeem your loved one's life."

No one is too lost to be saved.

That is the hope we walk in today.

May 25, 2022 Our Prayer for our Loved One today:

Lamentations 3:55-58 NIV [55] I called on your name, Lord, from the depths of the pit. [56] You heard my plea: “Do not close your ears to my cry for relief.” [57] You came near when I called you, and you said, “Do not fear.” [58] You, Lord, took up my case; you redeemed my life.

Father God, you are our defender Lord. You guard us and protect us. Today (our loved one) is in the pit. Lord, hear our plea for relief, hear (our loved one's) plea for relief...for (his/her) cry for help! Lord, we know that you come near to us when we call to you! Lord, draw near to (our loved one). Whisper in (his/her) ear..."Do not fear." Lord, we ask that you take up (our loved one's) case and that today You redeem (our loved one's) life, as only you can do. He Makes All Things New

Friends, God is in the business of performing open heart surgery.

He can take the person you don’t even recognize anymore...

He can take that old, stony heart...

He can take that spirit of oppression...

Remove it in an instant...

And remake us into something completely new.

Walk in that confidence today.

May 24, 2022 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Ezekiel 36:26-28 NIV [26] I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. [27] And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. [28]...you will be my people, and I will be your God.

Lord, we come before you this morning knowing that you are the great physician. Lord, you took our pain and our infirmities and nailed them on the cross with you. Lord, I pray today that you will perform "open heart surgery" on (our loved one). Lord, we pray today that you will give (our loved one) a new heart and put a new spirit in (him/her). Lord we ask that you would remove (our loved one's) heart of stone and give (him/her) a heart of flesh. Lord, we ask that you put a new spirit in (our loved one) and move (our loved one) to follow your decrees and desire to keep you laws. Lord, we look forward to the day when (our loved one) comes back to you and (he/she) will be your people again and you will be (his/her) God! We are confident in your perfect plan for (his/her) life. We ask this in your Son's precious name! Amen!

Drink in His Love and Peace

Our souls were created with a longing to be filled. God created us to be filled with Him.

We look to the things that he created to fill our spirits rather than to the creator himself. Especially when we feel lost or alone or broken, we look to our friends (who often fail us), we look to our spouses (who can disappoint us), we look to money (and we always come up short), we look to our corporate success (and that completely stresses us out). We may even look to drugs or alcohol ourselves (I need that cigarette or I deserve that glass of wine.)

But the only thing that is truly going to fill our empty souls and the only thing that is going to truly fill our loved ones empty souls, is if we drink the living water, the source of life itself, that comes from God above.

Praying today that you would drink from the refreshing well of his love and his peace. And praying that our loved ones would do the same.

May 23, 2022 Our prayer for our loved one today:

John 4:10-11,13-14 NIV [10] Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” [11] Where can you get this living water? [13] Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, [14] but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

Good morning Father God. The words of Jesus bring hope to us this morning. You have a gift you want to give (our loved one) today. Lord, we know that if (our loved one) ask you, you will give (him/her) living water. We believe that there is only one place to get this living water. (Our loved one) can drink the water of this world and (he/she) will always be thirsty for more. But Lord, your word says that if (our loved one)drinks the water YOU give (him/her) (he/she) will never thirst again. We pray today that (our loved one) would drink the water that You give (him/her) and that it will become in (him/her) a spring of water welling up to a life of freedom! We confidently call this in to being today! In Jesus Name. Amen!

Love Never Fails

Today, as we focus on love, may you grasp how much HE loves you.

He loves you fully. He loves you in the heaviness, the fear, the doubt and the resignation.

And as he loves us, so we are called to love fully in the messiness of it all.

Because love never fails.

May 22, 2022 Our prayer for Our Loved One today:

1 Corinthians 13:7 ESV [7] Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Merciful Father, we come to you today knowing….knowing how much you love us. Knowing how much you believe in us. Knowing how much you desire that each one of us step into the fullness you have for us in this life. Lord we ask that you would give is the strength to bear up under the load we are carrying, the imagination to believe the goodness of heaven on Earth today, the power of hope in the restoration of our family and the perseverance to endure any struggle that comes our way today. We pray for [our loved one] today. [He/she] is carrying a boulder that is far too heavy for [him/her]. Give [him/her] the strength to bear up under the weight of all that [he/she] is carrying today. Lord, we ask that you will fill [our loved one’s] mind with the dreams and visions for [his/her] future that you have given [him/her] so [he/she] can begin to walk in that truth. We pray that you would fill [our loved one’s] heart to overflowing with the hope that only begins to well up as a result of your love. And we ask that you would fill [our loved one’s] spirit with the determination to endure through the struggles, knowing that just beyond this mountain [he/she] is climbing are your streams of living water. Lord, we know that love never fails. Lord, we receive this gift from you today and pray these things in your holy name. Amen.

High On A Rock

Lord, keep my loved ones safe...

Hide them in your precious shelter...

And one day...

Set them high on your rock...

To triumphantly sing Your praises and shout for joy!

May 21, 2022 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 27:4-5 NIV [4] One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple[5] For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.

Father God, there is one thing that I ask of you today, one thing that I seek; that [our loved one] would dwell in your house all of the rest of the days of [his/her] life, that [our loved one] would gaze upon your beauty and that [our loved one] would seek you in your holy temple. I pray that in [our loved one’s] moments of trouble that you would keep [him/her] safe in your dwelling place; that you would protect [our loved one] in the shelter of Your sacred tent and that You would set [our loved one] high upon a rock. Lord I humbly ask that You hold [our loved one] in the palm of your hand today. In Jesus name we pray. Amen!

The Truth Will Set You Free

The lies of the enemy will hold us captive.
“I am a failure”
“I am not good enough”
“I caused these problems.”
“This will never change.”

Freedom comes when we believe the truth.

The truth is....God LOVES you!
The truth is....God LOVES your prodigal more than you do!
The truth is....there is NO condemnation through Christ!!!
The truth is....He is able to break any and every chain!!!
The truth is...NO weapon forged against you or your loved one’s can prevail.

Walk in truth and you will walk in freedom today.

May 20, 2022 Our prayer for our loved one today.

John 8:32 NIV [32] Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Lord, we come to you in love and adoration today with a heart of gratitude, because your word gives us hope! We know in our hearts that we can fully put our trust in you and you alone. Lord, today we pray that you will reveal truth to us and to [our loved one]. We believe that where Your truth exists, chains will be broken and [our loved one] will be set free! I pray against any lies that I or [our loved one] might be believing. Give us clarity and purpose and give us the power and strength to walk in that truth today. We pray this in your son's precious name! Amen.

You Are Loved

This...

This is as real as it gets...

Pain...

Darkness..

The lost causes...

The abandoned...

The hopeless cases...

And then, the quiet whisper of our Abba Daddy that says...
I am with you. I have redeemed you. I will save you.
May you hear that whisper today. May your loved one hear it today as well....

those words that say “you are loved.”

May 19, 2022 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 88:1-8, 89:1 MSG
[1-8] God, you're my last chance of the day. I spend the night on my knees before you. Put me on your salvation agenda; take notes on the trouble I'm in. I've had my fill of trouble; I'm camped on the edge of hell. I'm written off as a lost cause, one more statistic, a hopeless case. Abandoned as already dead, one more body in a stack of corpses, And not so much as a gravestone--- I'm a black hole in oblivion. You've dropped me into a bottomless pit, sunk me in a pitch-black abyss. I'm caught in a maze and can't find my way out, blinded by tears of pain and frustration. Your love, God, is my song, and I'll sing it! I'm forever telling everyone how faithful you are. I'll never quit telling the story of your love.

Lord God, we cry out to you today because you are our last chance! We spend day and night on our knees before you. Lord, we pray on behalf of (our loved one). We ask that you put (our loved one) on your salvation agenda! Lord, take note of the trouble (he/she) is in. My heart knows that (our loved one) has had (his/her) fill of trouble. (He/she) is camped on the edge of hell. Most have written (him/her) off as a lost cause, as one of the statistics, as a hopeless case. Lord, many have abandoned (our loved one) as already gone. (Our loved one) is in a black hole today, in a bottomless pit, an abyss. (He/she) is caught in a maze of destruction that (he/she) can't get out of. (He/she) is blinded by tears of pain and frustration. But Lord, we believe in Your precious love. We believe You will save (our loved one). Abba Daddy, You are faithful and one day (our loved one) will sing of Your love and never quit telling the story of how You saved (him/her). Lord, we pray this prayer today with confidence! We ask these things in Your mighty, mighty name. Amen.

Rest in His Safety

Today you may feel unsafe. You may feel vulnerable. You may feel exposed.

But today He is whispering something different to you.

You are safe.

He is always with you.

And you don't need to feel shaken.

Picture our loved ones literally resting in God's big, huge, loving hands.

Rest in His safety....

May 18, 2022 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 16:8-11 NLT [8] I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. [9] No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety. [10] For you will not leave my soul among the dead...11] You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.

Lord, God we know that you are always with us and you are always with (our loved one). Lord, we pray that for today you will give strength to (our loved one) and (he/she) will not be shaken. We pray that (our loved one) will somehow know that you are right there beside (him/her). Lord, today please allow (our loved one's) body to rest in YOUR safety Lord. Lord we believe that you will not leave (our loved one's) soul among the dead but will show (our loved one) the way of LIFE everlasting! Lord we pray that you will grant (our loved one) the joy of being in your presence and the pleasure of living with you forever! Lord, we pray this today in Jesus Holy Name! Amen.

Nothing Can Separate Us

One of the things that I know many of us have struggled with is not just dealing with the stronghold of addictions or mental health issues, but that in many cases, our loved ones walk away from their faith.

So friends, if you are struggling with this today, please hear me when I say this...

NOTHING can separate us from God's love. NOTHING. Not one thing you do or I do or our loved ones do can change that. He loves us immeasurably more than we could ever imagine. And he loves our loved ones right now, right where they are at no matter how fast they are running from him. So be assured, that NEVER EVER changes.

And as we are to love like our Heavenly Father, my heart is to demonstrate that same steadfast love. Do I love my prodigal in a way, that when he chooses to change, he will want to come home to the Lord?
I pray today that you will walk in this assurance.

NOTHING, NOTHING can separate us from His love!

May 17, 2022 Our prayer for our loved one today.

Romans 8:37-39 NIV [37] No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. [38] For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, [39] neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Lord, we come before you today grateful. Grateful for your promises and for your son's death on the cross. Because Lord, we believe these words today. That in ALL things (our loved one) can be more than a conqueror because of YOU who loves (him/her) immensely! Lord, we are convinced that NOTHING...not death or life, angels or demons, not the present or the future or ANY powers; not heights or depths or anything else in all of creation could EVER separate (our loved one) from your love that is in Christ Jesus. Oh Lord, it is easy to love the lovable God but there are days when I am unlovable and my child is unlovable. We THANK YOU today that your love is constant and exorbitant and never-ending. We pray today that (our loved one) will feel that love raining down on (him/her). And we ask Lord, that you would fill my heart with that kind of love for (our loved one). We thank you and praise you and ask these things in Jesus precious name. Amen!!!

All Things Are Possible!

Not long ago I had the illusion that if I did something different, if I would have been different, if I controlled more or monitored more or played more or loved more...

that somehow I could do the saving.

But over the years I've learned that's not up to me.

There is only one that can do the saving and one who can asked to be rescued.

Scary to surrender.

But a relief to know the saving isn't up to me. And what was entirely impossible for me...

Is entirely possible with God.

May 16, 2022 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Mark 10:26-27 NIV [26] The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, “Who then can be saved?” [27] Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”

Lord, we come to you today humbled. Humbled because we've tried to do the saving and it just hasn't worked. Humbled because we realize that we don't have that kind of control or that kind of power. And humbled because we know the only hope for saving is through you. Lord, we believe in our hearts that You are the only one who can save (our loved one). And that one day, (he/she) will whisper "rescue me Lord." We recognize that without You, this is impossible, but with You ALL things are possible. Lord we thank you that You are able to bring about in (our loved one's) life what we can not. Lord we surrender (our loved one) to You. And we thank you for what you are about to do. We pray this in your Son's precious name. Amen.

No Shame

“You are nothing.”

“You are a loser.”

“You will never amount to anything.”

“You can never do anything right.”

"Nothing will ever change."

The voices in their heads scream at them. The lies they are believing keep them in the bondage of shame.

And then, with just a glance up, the shroud of shame turns into the radiance of joy.

Because when we look to Him we will be set free.

May 15, 2022 Our prayer for Our Loved One today:

Psalm 34:5 NIV [5] Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.

Father God, today I come to you with gratitude for the rescue mission you sent your son on 2000 ago. The love that came down to set us free from the guilt and shame that holds us captive. Lord, I thank you that you died to rescue [our loved one]. I pray that [our loved one] would look up today. That [he/she] would look up. And in that moment, that single moment [his/her] the shadow of shame would melt away and it would be replaced by the radiance of joy. The joy that can only come from the realization of the prison of oppression no longer exists and in it’s place is the well filled with the water of life. Lord, we long for that moment and trust that it will happen in Your perfect time. We pray this in our Son’s precious name. Amen

A Pathway through the Wilderness

Some days we just have to gut it out with our faith. We wrestle with God and yell and scream and say "really God? This is what you had in mind." And then we open the word and he calmly reminds us that he is ALWAYS at work and that he always has something new for us and he will always work things out for the good. And his character is always love!

And we cling to those promises day after day, when life can get so hard that we can barely breathe and there are no tears left.

He opens a pathway through the wilderness in front of us. He quenches our thirst and refreshes us. He draws us back to him. His love leads us home.

May 14, 2022 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Isaiah 43:18-20 NLT [18] "But forget all that- it is nothing compared to what I am going to do[19] For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland[20] Yes, I will make rivers in the dry wasteland so my chosen people can be refreshed.
Father God, we come before you today trusting. Trusting that your promises are real and true. When we can't hold on to anything else, we hold on to that. We know that nothing can compare to what you are going to do in [our loved one's] life! We believe that you are about to do something new, something amazing in [our loved one]. Yes Lord! It has already begun. Lord, we believe that you will make a pathway through the wilderness so that [our loved one] can find you. And you will create rivers in the dry wasteland of [his/her] life so that [our loved one] will be refreshed and made new in you. We believe that you are at work right now to restore our lives and our families to the abundant promised land you have waiting for all of us. Lord, we are thankful. We pray this promise and agree with it in your Son's precious name. Amen

Fastening My Heart to the Future

Yesterday

You may have fallen short.

Truth is, I did too.

Truth is, none of us can do any of this on our own strength. None of us can accomplish anything without His strength.

Today, I leave behind yesterday and look forward to the fullness of his abundance that He has for each of us in the future. Believing that every passion he has put into our hearts, into our loved ones hearts will most assuredly come to pass.

May 12, 2022 Our prayer for Our Loved One Today

Philippians 3:12-13 TPT [12] I admit that I haven't yet acquired the absolute fullness that I'm pursuing, but I run with passion into his abundance so that I may reach the purpose that Jesus Christ has called me to fulfill and wants me to discover. [13] I don't depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead.

Father God, I admit today that I have doubts. I have fears. I have not yet grasped all that you have for me, for us, for our family. But I walk in faith, pursuing, with passion, the abundance that you have waiting for me. Lord, I believe with all my heart, that you have that same abundance waiting for (our loved one), that you have a passion and purpose for (him/her) and that you are simply waiting for (our loved one) to simply step into everything you have ready for (him/her). Lord, we know that nothing can be accomplished in our own strength. But when we focus on you, anything is possible. Lord, today I leave the past behind. And I pray that (our loved one) leaves the past behind as well. Help each one of us to focus squarely on you, that (our loved one) would fasten (his/her) heart to you alone and to everything the future holds for (him/her). Lord, today we wait with expectations, anticipating all the goodness you have for us. We ask these things in your son’s precious name. Amen

A Firm Foundaiton

Today, no doubt, you are suffering. Life would be hard regardless, but our current circumstances create even more hardship.

In the middle of the muck and the difficulties and the ugly, it's really hard to see when or how or where things are going to end. Hard to visualize things getting better. Hard to picture things different. Hard to imagine our loved one free and healthy and living in abundance.

Right now there is a lot we don't know. Much we don't understand. And yet, truth says that faith is believing in what is unseen. That in God's perfect timing we will "see."

These verses promise us that we WILL share in His glory. And after this time of suffering...

He will restore them.

He will support them.

He will strengthen them.

And he will place them on a firm foundation.

So we can look down the road and choose to look at the future in one of 2 ways. Either the way it is now or the way we believe God will have it be in his perfect timing.

That is the miracle of hope.

May 12, 2022 Our prayer for our loved one today:

1 Peter 5:10 NLT [10] In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.

Lord God, You are all loving, all powerful and all kind. And in Your amazing kindness, you have called (our loved one) to share in Your eternal glory through your son Christ Jesus, who died for us. Lord (our loved one) is suffering. (He/She) is hurting. Lord, we believe Your promise today that (our loved ones) suffering will end and at that glorious time You will restore, support and strengthen (our loved one). You will place (him/her) on the firm foundation of Your love and grace and mercy. Lord we believe this promise today. We pray with confidence that this will come to pass in your perfect timing. In Your Son's name we pray. Amen

Live Again!

During the height of the craziness in our home we forgot. We forgot a lot of things to be honest. But mostly we forgot about the power God has given us with our words. Romans 4 says that God calls into being things that don’t exist as if they do, that he gives life to the dead. And in Romans 8 it says that WE have that same power in us.

What are we calling into existence today? Do our words build up or tear down?

Is our tongue being used to speak life or speak death over our loved ones?

Are we giving power to the enemy by verbally putting our ugly, destructive fears out there for him to play on?

Today….when we speak, let it be words of life. Let’s call those dry, dead bones to live and breathe once again!

May 11, 2022 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Ezekiel 37:4-6,14 NIV [4] Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, 'Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! [5] This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life[6] I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord. ' ” [14] I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken, and I have done it, declares the Lord. ' ”

Abba daddy, we come to you today feeling desperate and powerless. We confess that at times our words and the meditations of our hearts have been a tool of death. We know through our words and through the gift of prayer we have the power of life. Today, we call into being that which doesn’t exist as if it does. Lord, we speak healing and life over [our loved one]. We ask that you would breathe your breath into [our loved one’s] very soul. We pray that the dry, dead bones of a wounded and weary spirit would be healed in your name. We pray that you would put a new and fresh spirit in [him/her]. Fill [him/her] with the oxygen of hope Lord, bring [our loved one] back home, to the life you have claimed to be [our loved one’s]. We eagerly wait in expectation for You to show us the power you have to bring dry, dead bones back to life and we give You all of this honor and glory in your Son’s holy name we pray. Amen

You Are Chosen

There have been many times on this journey, sometimes when things were at their very worst, when a well, meaning, smiling, godly woman, would lovingly pat me on the arm and say “well, you know...God works everything out for good.”

Tell that to a mama who’s loved one just went off the grid.

Tell that to a wife who just found out her loved one has graduated to heroin.

Tell that to the daddy who just watched his baby girl taken to prison in handcuffs.

Tell that to a grandma who just got a call that her child has od’d and she is now responsible for taking care of her grandchildren.

Tell that to the daughter who’s being verbally abused daily by her drugged up parent.

As well meaning as it all is, it can be pretty hard to hear sometimes.

BUT...

These words ARE in the Bible. And if you continue to read the words following those, you will see one of the most amazing promises God wrote to us.

You see...I believe my loved one was chosen, called by God. And when I lose site of that I can become wounded, defensive or hopeless.

The truth is, no matter how I feel today God does promise that because we are chosen, because our loved one is chosen (whether they’ve discovered it yet or not) we can walk in this assurance.

One day, God will work everything out for his purposes for those who love and trust in Him.

May 9, 2021 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Romans 8:28-30 NCV [28] We know that in everything God works for the good of those who love him. They are the people he called, because that was his plan. [29] God knew them before he made the world, and he chose them to be like his Son so that Jesus would be the firstborn of many brothers and sisters. [30] God planned for them to be like his Son; and those he planned to be like his Son, he also called; and those he called, he also made right with him; and those he made right, he also glorified.

Father God, thank you that you know me and that you that you knew (our loved one) before you even created the world. Wow what wonderful knowledge that is! You knew us before you even created the world! Lord, we believe today that you are working everything out for good, because we love you. Lord, we believe in our heart that you have a calling on (our loved one’s) life and we hope in that plan for (his/her) future. And Lord, you CHOSE (our loved one) to be like your son so that Jesus would have many brothers and sisters. Lord, You have planned for (our loved one) to be like your son....to be like Jesus! How awesome is that promise Lord. And for those you have promised to be like your son (which includes us all) you have called. Yes Lord! You have called (our loved one) to be like YOU and to be made right with You! And thank you Lord that as you have created (our loved one), promised to make (him/her) like your own son, called (him/her) unto you to do great things and promised to make (him/her) right with you, so your words say you will glorify (our loved one). Lord, I visualize right now (my loved one) being glorified and honored by YOU...King of Kings and Lord of Lords! How precious is that picture Lord. Thank you for this promise to a broken hearted mamma this morning! I believe this and claim this today in your son's precious name! Amen!
