Give Thanks

I remember those days...

When in my mind there was just nothing to give thanks for.

But God’s word says, as a man thinks, so he will become.

Today simply stop.

Stop what you are doing.

Clear your mind.

And give thanks.

Even if you don’t feel like it. Even if you can’t think of anything to be thankful for. The fact that your God, the God of the universe created you and created your loved one...

Is enough.

Because you are enough.

November 20, 2021 Our prayer for Our Loved One Today;

1 Thessalonians 1:2 TPT We are grateful to God for your lives and we always pray for you.

Lord, we sit at your feet today searching. Searching for answers, searching for resolution, searching for peace. Lord, we know that peace only comes when we practice gratitude in our hearts. Lord, today I am grateful. I am grateful for (our loved one’s) life. I am grateful that you created (him/her) perfectly, for such a time as this. I am honored to be a part of (our loved one’s) life, if not in physical presence at this moment, through the power of my prayers. Lord, I commit today to continue to pray and give thanks for (our loved one) until the day we see you face to face. We pray in your son’s holy name. Amen

He Turns Our Darkness to Light

I think almost every person who has ever struggled with addiction or depression or anxiety or has walked through the dark valley and is on the other side, would read this and say...yes! This was my experience.

He will meet us in our deepest anguish when we cry out to him...

He will rescue us from the deep waters...

And He will bring us to a spacious place, a place of a kind of freedom that we could have never imagined.

He turns our darkness into light.

November 19, 2021 Our prayer for our loved one today:

2 Samuel 22:7,17-18,20,29 NIV [7] “In my distress I called to the Lord; I called out to my God. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came to his ears. [17] “He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. [18] He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me. [20] He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me. [29] You, Lord, are my lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light.

Lord, today we call out to you on behalf of (our loved one). Lord hear our voice, hear our cry for (our loved one). We pray that you reach down from on high and take ahold of (our loved one); Draw (him/her) out of the deep waters (he/she) is in. Lord we believe that You have the power to rescue (our loved one) from (his/her) enemy, from the strongholds that have overcome (him/her). Lord, we ask that you bring (our loved one) into a spacious place; Rescue (our loved one) so that (he/she) may delight in You. Lord, you are our lamp. We pray on behalf of (our loved one) that You will turn (his/her) darkness into light. In Jesus name we believe that these things will come to pass. Amen!

Walk In Victory

Mornings are always a time when I reflect on all the good in my life, all the blessings that our gracious God has lavished on us. And it’s always a time for me to pray those blessings over others.

As you pray this prayer for your loved one today, know that I am praying it over you all.

This morning...

May He protect you and strengthen you...

May He grant you the desires of your heart and may all of your plans succeed...

And may all of your prayers be answered...

November 18, 2021 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 20:1-2,4-5 NLT
[1] In times of trouble, may the LORD answer your cry. May the name of the God of Jacob keep you safe from all harm. [2] May he send you help from his sanctuary and strengthen you from Jerusalem. [4] May he grant your heart's desires and make all your plans succeed. [5] May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God. He is the Lighthouse that Guides Us

Recently I got a phone call. You know the kind. One of those SOS calls. And my natural instinct was to want to get my hands in the mix and "fix" things. My will be done, right?

And then I realized that I had taken my eyes off of the one who truly can fix this situation. Fear, worry, the need to take control, the need to fix, the depression that can come when things don't go our way...

These are ALL things that occur when we forget who is really God.

He is...

And I am not.

He is the lighthouse that guides us. He is the refuge in the storm. He is where I draw my strength and comfort from. And today I'll pray that my loved one will be led back to the light.

November 15, 2021 Our Prayer for Our Loved One Today:

Psalm 141:8 NIV [8] But my eyes are fixed on you, Sovereign Lord; in you I take refuge....

Oh Abba Father, we come to you today weak, tired and lost. Not able to see what's in front of us because of the storms that are raging around us. Lord, we know that the only way through the storm is to keep our eyes fixed on you, to not lose sight of the light that is always there to guide us. And Lord, today we humbly ask that (our loved one) would make that decision, that decision to fix (his/her) eyes on you. Lord we ask that You, in your sovereignty would guide (our loved one) back to a place of safety and refuge in You alone. Lord, protect (him/her), keep (him/her) safe through in the darkness and bring (him/her) back to calm waters. We know this is Your desire and we believe that it will happen. We ask this in Your Son's precious name. Amen!

You are Set Apart

You may need to pray this today because you need to remember how precious the hard to love are...

Yesterday may have been hard. Yesterday your heart may have been broken. Yesterday you may have shattered.

But God knows you. And He has set you apart. And he has appointed you for such a time as this.

And just as he has set you apart, he has set your loved one apart.

Thanking God that He loves perfectly. And learning to love like Him.

November 14, 2021 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Jeremiah 1:5 NIV
[5] “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you...

Lord, thank you. Thank you that You are the God of the universe and the God of the smallest organism and the God of (my loved one). Lord I thank you that you created (our loved one) perfectly and wonderfully. I thank you that before (he/she) was even conceived You KNEW (him/her). Lord thank you that (our loved one) is set apart. You have a plan. You have a purpose for (his/her) life. You have appointed (our loved one) to do specific things for your kingdom. Lord, I pray that (our loved one) would, through something or someone, see you today. That (he/she) would experience Your love. And that today would be the day (he/she ) would begin to understand how much You love (him/her). We pray this in Your son's precious name. Amen!

His Power Gives You Victory

When our heart is breaking comfort comes when we sit at His feet.

Love comes when we pray for those that are hard to love.

Joy comes when we pray gratitude over our situations even when the challenges seem insurmountable.

We have one certain defense in the battle for the heart of our loved ones. It is our prayers.

November 13, 2021 Our prayer for our loved one today.

Zephaniah 3:17 GNT
[17] The LORD your God is with you; his power gives you victory. The LORD will take delight in you, and in his love he will give you new life. He will sing and be joyful over you,

Lord we thank you today that you are always with us and that you are always with (our loved one). Your word says you will never leave us or forsake us How comforting those words of truth are to us today. Lord, we BELIEVE today that through your great power you will give victory to (our loved one).

Lord we know that you sing over (our loved one), that you are joyful over (him/her). Lord we pray today that (our loved one) would sense that power and love and experience victory in you today. In Jesus precious name we pray. Amen

You Protect Me

Today, for some of you reading this, it's hard to simply breathe let alone try to fake it through your day. I understand. I have walked that path.

My prayer for you today is that you will press into HIS light. I PRAY that you will feel his love wrap you up.

And our hearts cry is that our loved ones would somehow, someway, through a divine appointment discover how much God loves them and they would be strengthened by that love.

He has a perfect plan for your life. He has a perfect plan for your loved one's life. Hold on to the hope of that truth.

November 12, 2021 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 138:7-8 NLT
[7] Though I am surrounded by troubles, you will protect me from the anger of my enemies. You reach out your hand, and the power of your right hand saves me. [8] The LORD will work out his plans for my life- for your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever. Don't abandon me, for you made me.

Lord, today we begin this prayer grateful because we know that we can trust you. Because of your love for us we are always filled with hope. Your word says that in this world we WILL have troubles and today we are surrounded by trouble and (our loved one) is surrounded by trouble. Lord, protect (our loved one) from the enemies that entangle (him/her). We ask that you reach out your right hand and with the power that only you possess, that you save (our loved one). Lord, we believe that you have a special plan for (our loved one’s) life and even now, in the midst of darkness you are working out that perfect plan because of your great love for (our loved one). Abba Daddy, you created (our loved one) perfectly and wonderfully, so we trust that in Your great love. We know you have not abandoned (our loved one) and we wait on You expectantly for our prayers to be answered in Your son's precious name! Amen

You Are Made New

Not long ago I was talking to a mom, so much like myself. Where the deep wounds of our past drove us to behave a certain way in the here and now.

Needing love.

Needing control.

Needing justification.

Needing validation.

Needing to atone for our sins or the sins that were perpetrated on us in our past.

Because we didn’t believe that we were worthy.

Because we didn’t believe that we could be completely healed.

Because we didn’t believe that we were “enough.”

But in Him, my friends..

you are more than enough.

You have been made new! Nothing in your past justifies OR holds you back.If you want to be completely free, believe this one thing today.

You have been made new!

And this same truth, this same transformation is waiting for our loved ones. It will not be overdue a single day.

November 10, 2021 Our prayer for our loved one today:

2 Corinthians 5:17,19 NLT[17] This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! [19] For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.

Oh Lord our Lord, what a glorious God you are! You have given us an amazing gift. The gift of new life in You. We pray today for this revelation in [our loved one]. Because of your death on the cross, we believe that [our loved one] can become a new creation through you. [His/her] old life will be completely gone and [his/her] new life will begin. What a day that will be. Lord, for those of us who love you and have already received this gift, we request of you today that [our loved one] would once and for all be reconciled with you. We believe this day of reconciliation will come in your perfect timing and ask Lord that it would come quickly. Lord we thank you for your gift of rebirth through Christ! In Jesus name we pray. Amen!

He Has Set Us Free

Right now, in this present time, many of us are feeling confined, maybe even like we are in a sort of "prison." We are being held hostage to our circumstances.

But I truly believe that our joy, our inner peace, our happiness is really our choice. We can choose peace instead of anxiety, faith instead of fear, hope instead of hurt, freedom instead of bondage.

And it is through the strength of God that we do that. I tried for too many years to will myself better, to pull myself up by my bootstraps, to do it myself. When I SURRENDERED I was set free.

If you are chained to your negative emotions you can choose today to be set free.

And I am praying that our loved ones today, make the same choice.

November 9, 2021 Our prayer for our Loved One today:

Galatians 5:1 MSG
[1] Christ has set us free to live a free life. So take your stand! Never again let anyone put a harness of slavery on you.

Oh, Abba Daddy, we come to you today broken, truly at the end of ourselves. Entrapped by our own fears, anxiety and desire to control. Lord, we ask that you free us! Lord you came to set us free and we desire to receive all that you have for us. And Lord, we humbly desire freedom for (our loved one). You came to give (him/her) a free life. Lord, we pray that today (our loved one) will take a stand. That (he/she) will wake up and say NO MORE! That (he/she) will fully surrender to all that You have for (him/her). Lord, we believe that you can lift the chains of slavery that keep them in bondage. Lord, deliver us all from the things that entangle us. Lift the darkness and bring us into the light. We ask this in your Son's precious name. Amen

God is Always on Time

One day I was sitting on my chair and I heard an audible voice say Isaiah 44. I know God can do this, but it had never ever happened to me. So I opened my Bible to Isaiah 44 and this was the promise that God gave me.

I have clung to that promise during the darkest of days. I have held tightly to the knowledge that my God won’t make a promise He can’t keep.

And I believe whether he says it out loud to you or not, His promises are for ALL of us. This promise is for you too. And when we are walking through the valley of the shadows, the ONLY thing we have complete assurance in is that His promises are true and for each one of us, for such a time as this.

Hold on today, my friends. God is always on time.

November 8, 2021 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Isaiah 44:2-5 NIV
[2] This is what the Lord says---he who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you: Do not be afraid, Jacob, my servant, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen. [3] For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. [4] They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams. [5] Some will say, ‘I belong to the Lord’...

Lord we honor and glorify you this morning knowing that you created each of us perfectly and wonderfully. We thank you for forming (our loved one) in the womb and for your desire to help (our loved one). We pray that you cast out all fear that (our loved one) may have today because You have chosen (him/her). Lord just as only you can poor water on a thirsty land and create streams of water through a dry ground, we believe that You will poor our Your Spirit on (our loved one) and rain blessings down on (him/her). Then (our loved one) will spring up like grass in a meadow, like a poplar tree by a flowing stream. We believe that in that moment (our loved one) will say "I BELONG TO THE LORD." We eagerly await that day and will not stop praying until it comes to pass. We thank you for your faithfulness and power in our lives. We pray this in Jesus Name! Amen.

It Will Not Be Overdue a Single Day

As we walk through fear and doubt and hopelessness our armor is to keep His promises in front of us.

While we can't see it, he is creating a beautiful tapestry in each of our lives. The finished product won't be revealed until we meet him face to face. But be assured that what may look ugly to us right now, will come together in the end to be something incredible.

I believe with all my heart that God will use all of this pain, all of the knots, all of the insanity for something very beautiful.

November 7, 2021 Our Prayer for Our Loved One Today

Habakkuk 2:3 TLB [3] But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day!

Lord we come before you today worried, fearful, anxious, doubting. What we see around us doesn't always reconcile with your love. So we question. But your word gives us confidence. Your word says that you are working behind the scenes right now in (our loved one's) life. That even though we can't see your work yet, that slowly, steadily and surely the time is approaching when the vision for (our loved one) will be fulfilled. And because of your promises, Lord, we will not despair because we trust that these things will come to past in our life and in (our loved ones) life. Help us to be patient as we walk this difficult journey waiting, trusting, believing that the moment, that moment when (our loved one) says “yes, Lord” will be in your perfect timing and will not be overdue a single moment. Lord we honor your promises and rest in them today. In Jesus precious name we pray. Amen.

You Are Chosen

You are CHOSEN.

You are loved by God
You are called by God
You are chosen by God

Each one of us is. No one is excluded. It’s just a matter of when we are going to step into that truth.

He sees you my friends. He knows what you are going through. And he alone can take your pain, your struggles, your messes and make them into something marvelous in your life and the life of others.

Today I thank God that he chose my prodigal and pray with all my soul that soon he will step into the abundant life God has waiting for him.

November 6 2021 Our prayer for our loved one today:

1 Peter 2:9-10 MSG
[9-10] But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God's instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you---from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.

Father we humbly come before you today acknowledging what you did on the cross for us. Your death has made us chosen by God. Lord, I believe that [our loved one] was chosen for a high calling, chosen to be a Holy person, chosen as one of your special instruments to do Your work and speak out for You!! I believe that one day [our loved one] will give testimony to the night and day difference that You have made for [our loved one] in [his/her] life! I praise you Father God that through Your death You have made [our loved one] a new creation. From nothing...to something, from rejected to accepted! I believe that this is already done and will come to pass in your perfect timing. I lay claim to these words in your Son's precious name today! Amen!!

Whole and Healed

In the middle of the difficulties it is often so hard to stop and look at our loved one as a valued human being. We are often so at war with them that everything becomes about the battle or about the saving and the loving is pushed back.

So this morning, let's stop for a moment and just close our eyes and picture our loved ones the way God does. Whole and healed and lovable.

And then let's pray this blessing over them this morning.

November 5, 2021 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Numbers 6:24-26 NLT [24] 'May the Lord bless you and protect you. [25] May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. [26] May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.'

Lord today our hearts are filled with love for You because you are the author of life. Our hearts are filled with love for (our loved one) because you divinely appointed us to be (our loved one's) mom. Lord today we pray blessings over (our loved one). Lord we ask in love that you bless (our loved one) and protect (him/her). Lord will you smile on (our loved one)) and be gracious to (him/her). Lord will you show Your favor on (our loved one) and more than anything today will you give (him/her) the peace that passes understanding. Lord thank you that you are the Holy One who IS love! We ask these things in your son's name today. Amen

I Will Rescue You

He asks, "Do you trust me?"

I say "Of course Lord, I trust you."

He says, "Do you really really trust me?"

He says, "Then surrender. Let me handle this. I am fighting this battle for you in ways you can't even imagine!"

I say, "Yes Lord" as I wave my white flag!

And then... He turns to my loved one and says:

“Call to me and I'll answer....

I'll be by your side in bad times...

I'll rescue you....”

Words that I hold on to tightly. Words that I pray. Words of comfort and hope.

Reckless Love

Hosea, the story of unconditional love. Of redemption. Of how even after this woman prostitutes herself and keeps going back to her old life, Hosea still loves her.

And it is in the Bible to show us about God's relationship with us. No matter what we've done, no matter how deep we are in the pit, no matter how lost we are...

God can find us, God can pull us out, God can transform us.

Because He loves us.

That is hope. And that is the promise that I cling to every day.

And as God continues to show us His unconditional love, by example we learn how to love others.

Today I pray that I will love my tribe the way God loves me.

October 30, 2021 Our prayer for Our Loved One today:

Hosea 14:4-5,7-9 NLT [4] The Lord says, "Then I will heal you of your faithlessness; my love will know no bounds, for my anger will be gone forever. [5] I will be to Israel like a refreshing dew from heaven. Israel will blossom like the lily; it will send roots deep into the soil like the cedars in Lebanon. [7] My people will again live under my shade. They will flourish like grain and blossom like grapevines. 8] ...I am the one who answers your prayers and cares for you. [9] Let those who are wise understand these things. The paths of the Lord are true and right, and righteous people live by walking in them.

Abba Father...we cry out to you today knowing that your heart breaks just as ours does. We pray on behalf of (our loved one) this morning. Lord, we pray today that you will heal (our loved one) of (his/her) unfaithfulness today because your love knows no bounds for (him/her) and we rejoice that your anger will be gone forever! Lord we believe today that You will be to (our loved one) like a refreshing dew from heaven, and that (our loved one) will blossom like the lily, (he/she) will send (his/her) roots deep into the soil like the cedars of Lebanon. Lord, I trust that one day (our loved one) will once again live under the protection of Your shade and (he/she) will flourish like grain and blossom like the grapevines. Lord, we rejoice that You are the one who answers our prayers and cares for us and (our loved one). We thank you that you have given us an understanding of these things. Lord, we KNOW that your paths are always true and always right and that we and (our loved one) will truly live by walking in them. Lord, we thank you for this promise today! In Jesus precious name we pray! Amen!

The Work Has Begun

In our flesh, we want the instant healing, the immediate transformation, the tidy end to the story.

But God says, “I am in this. Don’t despair.”

The heartfelt conversation

That one phone call

The pondering question

The smile

The whisper

Today, remember. God rejoices over any little step we take towards Him.

October 29, 2021 Our prayer for Our Loved One today:

Zechariah 4:10 Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin.

Lord, thank you that you are in every detail of our lives. That you are the God of big miracles but you are also the God of small steps of progress that lead to great changes. Lord, today we pray that (our loved one) would start. That (he/she) would take that small beginning, that first movement towards Him. We thank You that you see (our loved one) and that you rejoice over the work that is beginning in (his/her) life. And Lord, we pray that even though we don’t see it yet, that we also would rejoice over the good work that we trust you have begun in (our loved one’s) heart. We pray that You would fill us with peace and patience as You move in (our loved one’s) life. We pray this in Your Son’s Holy Name. Amen

I Am Your Help

A former dealer and felon.....now a youth counselor.

A former prostitute....now helps people get into treatment.

A former adulterer...now ministers to the homeless.

A person formally deep in the throes of addiction....now a pastor.

These are the stories of u-turns. The stories of deliverance. These are the stories of real people, after 10, 20 or more years of oppression, being set free.

These are the stories I cling to each day.

Because these are the stories of hope.

October 28, 2021 Our prayer for our loved one today:

2 Corinthians 6:2 Voice
[2] For God says through Isaiah, When the time was right, I listened to you; and that day you were delivered, I was your help. Look, now the time is right! See, your day of deliverance is here!

Father God, we know that your heart breaks when any of your children fall away from you. Lord, we believe that before today you set things in motion for (our loved one), that you already know the appointed time for everything. Lord, we ask that today Your compassion would be upon (our loved one) and that (he/she) would cry out to You. We pray that TODAY would be the day of deliverance for (our loved one) and that You would listen to (him/her) cry for help and set (him/her) free! Lord, we believe Your word is truth. We know that you have a plan and purpose for (our loved one’s) life. We have faith that Your favor would come upon (our loved one) and that this would be the day (he/she) will move from death to life. In your son’s precious name we pray. Amen.
