Forgetting What Lies Behind

The end of another year.

Most likely a difficult year for most of you.

A year where I fell short.

A year where some promises were fulfilled and many were left unfulfilled.

Truth is, none of us can do this on our own strength. None of us can accomplish anything without His strength.

Today, I leave behind the past and look forward to the fullness of his abundance that He has for each of us in the future. Believing that every passion he has put into our hearts, into our loved ones hearts will most assuredly come to pass.

December 31, 2019 Our prayer for Our Loved One Today

Philippians 3:12-13 TPT [12] I admit that I haven't yet acquired the absolute fullness that I'm pursuing, but I run with passion into his abundance so that I may reach the purpose that Jesus Christ has called me to fulfill and wants me to discover. [13] I don't depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead.

Father God, I admit today that I have doubts. I have fears. I have not yet grasped all that you have for me, for us, for our family. But I walk in faith, pursuing, with passion, the abundance that you have waiting for me. Lord, I believe with all my heart, that you have that same abundance waiting for (our loved one), that you have a passion and purpose for (him/her) and that you are simply waiting for (our loved one) to simply step into everything you have ready for (him/her). Lord, we know that nothing can be accomplished in our own strength. But when we focus on you, anything is possible. Lord, today I leave the past behind. And I pray that (our loved one) leaves the past behind as well. Help each one of us to focus squarely on you, that (our loved one) would fasten (his/her) heart to you alone and to everything the future holds for (him/her). Lord, today we wait with expectations, anticipating all the goodness you have for us. We ask these things in your son’s precious name. Amen

The Miracle of Hope

In the middle of the muck and the difficulties and the ugly, it's really hard to see when or how or where things are going to end.

Hard to visualize things getting better.

Hard to picture our loved one free and healthy and living in abundance.

But we have to or we will lose heart.

That is faith.

And these verses promise us that we WILL share in His glory. And after walking through the fire... He will restore them.

He will support them.

He will strengthen them.

And he will place them on a firm foundation.

So we can look down the road and choose to look at the future in one of 2 ways. Either the way it is now or the way we believe God will have it be in his perfect timing.

That is the miracle of hope.

December 30, 2019 Our prayer for our loved one today:

1 Peter 5:10 NLT [10] In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.

Lord God, You are all loving, all powerful and all kind. And in Your amazing kindness, you have called (our loved one) to share in Your eternal glory through your son Christ Jesus, who died for us. Lord (our loved one) is suffering. (He/She) is hurting. Lord, we believe Your promise today that (our loved ones) suffering will end and at that glorious time You will restore, support and strengthen (our loved one). You will place (him/her) on the firm foundation of Your love and grace and mercy. Lord we believe this promise today. We pray with confidence that this will come to pass in your perfect timing. In Your Son's name we pray. Amen

Word of Life

During the height of the craziness in our home we forgot.

We forgot a lot of things to be honest.

But mostly we forgot about the power God has given us with our words. Romans 4 says that God calls into being things that don’t exist as if they do, that he gives life to the dead. And in Romans 8 it says that WE have that same power in us.

What are we calling into existence today?

Do our words build up or tear down?

Is our tongue being used to speak life or speak death over our loved ones?

Are we giving power to the enemy by verbally putting our ugly, destructive fears out there for him to play on?

Today….when we speak, let it be words of life. Let’s call those dry, dead bones to live and breathe once again!

December 28, 2019 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Ezekiel 37:4-6,14 NIV [4] Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, 'Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! [5] This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life[6] I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord. ' ” [14] I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken, and I have done it, declares the Lord. ' ”

Abba daddy, we come to you today feeling desperate and powerless. We confess that at times our words and the meditations of our hearts have been a tool of death. We know through our words and through the gift of prayer we have the power of life. Today, we call into being that which doesn’t exist as if it does. Lord, we speak healing and life over [our loved one]. We ask that you would breathe your breath into [our loved one’s] very soul. We pray that the dry, dead bones of a wounded and weary spirit would be healed in your name. We pray that you would put a new and fresh spirit in [him/her]. Fill [him/her] with the oxygen of hope Lord, bring [our loved one] back home, to the life you have claimed to be [our loved one’s]. We eagerly wait in expectation for You to show us the power you have to bring dry, dead bones back to life and we give You all of this honor and glory in your Son’s holy name we pray. Amen

There have been many times on this journey, sometimes when things were at their very worst, when a well, meaning, smiling, godly woman, would lovingly pat me on the arm and say “well, you know...God works everything out for good.”

Tell that to a mama who’s loved one just went off the grid.

Tell that to a wife who just found out her loved one has graduated to heroin.

Tell that to the daddy who just watched his baby girl taken to prison in handcuffs.

Tell that to a grandma who just got a call that her child has od’d and she is now responsible for taking care of her grandchildren.

Tell that to the daughter who’s being verbally abused daily by her drugged up parent.

As well meaning as it all is, it can be pretty hard to hear sometimes.

BUT... These words ARE in the Bible.

And if you continue to read the words following those, you will see one of the most amazing promises God wrote to us.

You see...I believe my loved one was chosen, called by God. And when I lose site of that I can become wounded, defensive or hopeless.

The truth is, no matter how I feel today God does promise that because we are chosen, because our loved one is chosen (whether they’ve discovered it yet or not) we can walk in this assurance.

One day, God will work everything out for his purposes for those who love and trust in Him.

Decembber 27, 2019 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Romans 8:28-30 NCV [28] We know that in everything God works for the good of those who love him. They are the people he called, because that was his plan. [29] God knew them before he made the world, and he chose them to be like his Son so that Jesus would be the firstborn of many brothers and sisters. [30] God planned for them to be like his Son; and those he planned to be like his Son, he also called; and those he called, he also made right with him; and those he made right, he also glorified.

Father God, thank you that you know me and that you that you knew (our loved one) before you even created the world. Wow what wonderful knowledge that is! You knew us before you even created the world! Lord, we believe today that you are working everything out for good, because we love you. Lord, we believe in our heart that you have a calling on (our loved one’s) life and we hope in that plan for (his/her) future. And Lord, you CHOSE (our loved one) to be like your son so that Jesus would have many brothers and sisters. Lord, You have planned for (our loved one) to be like your son....to be like Jesus! How awesome is that promise Lord. And for those you have promised to be like your son (which includes us all) you have called. Yes Lord! You have called (our loved one) to be like YOU and to be made right with You! And thank you Lord that as you have created (our loved one), promised to make (him/her) like your own son, called (him/her) unto you to do great things and promised to make (him/her) right with you, so your words say you will glorify (our loved one). Lord, I visualize right now (my loved one) being glorified and honored by YOU...King of Kings and Lord of Lords! How precious is that picture Lord. Thank you for this promise to a broken hearted mamma this morning! I believe this and claim this today in your son's precious name! Amen!

God With Us

One of the holiest days of the year.

The precious celebration of the birth of the Savior.

Yet a day for so many of you that was crushing.

A day filled with unmet expectations and dreams that did not come to pass for your family.

Another day of prayers yet to be answered.

Yet we rejoice in the power of the cross.

We are pressed but not crushed.

We are perplexed, but not despairing.

We are persecuted, yet not abandoned.

We are struck down but not destroyed.

Because of the hope that we have in a baby’s birth.

May you be filled with the hope of His promise today.

May your loved one be drawn to the hope of the light of the World, given for us. Emanuel, God with us.

December 26, 2018 Our prayer for Our Loved One Today

2 Corinthians 4:7-10 TPT [7] We are like common clay jars that carry this glorious treasure within, so that the extraordinary overflow of power will be seen as God's, not ours. [8] Though we experience every kind of pressure, we're not crushed. At times we don't know what to do, but quitting is not an option. [9] We are persecuted by others, but God has not forsaken us. We may be knocked down, but not out. [10] We continually share in the death of Jesus in our own bodies so that the resurrection life of Jesus will be revealed through our humanity.

Father God, we come to you today with our broken dreams, shattered hearts and promises that have not yet come to pass. Lord, the weight of the burdens we carry are heavy. Yet, because of who you are we have an extraordinary overflow of your power, the power of your love, that runs in and through us. Lord, we ask today that you would fill (our loved one) with that same abundance of power that only comes from your love for us. Lord, we know that (our loved one) is experiencing every kind of pressure today. Lord, hold (him/her) up so (he/she) would not be crushed. We know that (our loved one) may feel like giving up today. Give (him/her) supernatural strength so quitting is not an option. We understand that (our loved one) may be experiencing the consequences of unjust acts by others. We ask that you would make your presence known to (him/her) so that (he/she) knows that you have not forsaken (him/her). Lord, the power of your death give us strength. Today we draw on that power to intercede on behalf of (our loved one). We pray for your grace to cover each one of us today. In your son’s name we pray. Amen

For to Us a Child Is Born

68B25748-69C5-48E9-A32C-47935D6998C6.jpeg

Over 2000 years ago a baby was born.

He was born to give us hope.

And 33 years later the Christmas story became the Easter story.

He died for us.

He died to set us free.

We don’t have to be afraid.

We have GOOD NEWS that should give us GREAT JOY! He was born to die for us...

So that we may LIVE!

That is the hope Christmas brings.

May you, my friends find hope in this promise today!

December 25, 2019 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Luke 2:10-14 NIV [10] But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. [11] Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. [12] This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” [13] Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, [14] “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

Oh most Glorious God! You bring us good news that brings us great joy for each one of us. Lord thank you that you brought to us a promised savior, the Messiah, the Lord of Lords. Thank you that you came for me and that you came for (our loved one). Thank you that you came to safe (our loved one) from oppression, from strongholds, from self-will, from all that entangles (him/her). You can to set (him/her) free! Lord, we give you glory and honor and praise. We pray perfect peace into (our loved one’s) life today, on whom Your favor rests. We pray perfect peace over our own lives today as we celebrate the promise of new life in You. We pray all of this in your glorious name. Amen!

He is Perfect Peace

2000 years ago a child was born.

He came to bring us hope.

He came to bring light into the darkness of our lives.

He came to show us the path of peace. That's what this holiday is about my friends.

No matter what your situation... No matter your circumstances... You don't have to sit in the darkness and in the shadow of death.

Let Him wrap you up today in His light and in His perfect peace.

December 24, 2019 Our prayer for our loved on today:

Luke 1:78-79 NLT [78] Because of God's tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us, [79] to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide us to the path of peace."

Father God, we thank you today that you are a God of tender mercy. You gave us a sunrise today, the morning light. And Lord we believe that your Holy light is about to break on (our loved one). Lord, shine the light on (him/her). (Our loved one) is sitting in the darkness Lord, in the shadows of death. Lord we pray today that Your light would guide (our loved one) on to the path of peace. The peace that goes beyond understanding. The deep peace that can only come from you. We BELIEVE that your son, the light came for every one of us and we trust that it will shine on (our loved one) in your perfect timing. Thank you for your precious promises! We agree with it and stand on it, in your son's precious name. Amen!

He Came to Bring Life

The enemy's tactics are rampant in most of our families.  He has wreaked havoc in so many lives.  Your life may be  one of them. But that is not God’s intention.

His intention was freedom for each one of us through the birth of His precious son.  The baby born 2000 years ago to bring life for each one of us.

So while there are forces all around us that want to steal our loved one, steal our joy and sometimes steal our very life, remember this…

He can only take from us what we give him.

There is a love that holds greater power than anything the thief can steal from us. The love that came for you and for your precious loved one.

May you step into that love and abundance today.

December 23, 2019 Our prayer for our loved one today!

John 10:10 NIV [10] The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Lord, we cry out to you today on behalf of all of us who are lost and dying.  Lord, we recognize the conflict.  Light and dark, love and hate, life and death.  Lord, there is a thief who has come to steal [our loved one], to kill [our loved one's] spirit and to destroy [his/her] life..  Lord we believe that you have come so that [our loved one] may live in all of the glorious fullness you desire for [him/her]!  We pray against the evil forces that have their grip around [our loved one's] heart today and pray that you will reach down and grab ahold of [him/her], pull [him/her] up and draw [him/her] to you. We believe in your power to strengthen [our loved one] to overcome.  We declare today that love wins, that life will win.  In Jesus precious name we pray!  Amen.

Peace I Leave

Holidays, weekends, special events….

The empty chair at the table.

The obvious absence of our precious loved one.

The pain is impossible to walk through.

And we can't without leaning on Him.

Remember, as hard as it is for us, it's unbearable for our Loved Ones. The distance. The separation. The alienation.

Yes, they can numb it, but when they wake up day after day in the same oppression, they feel restless and afraid and remorseful and dejected. And they don't know how to get out of that cycle.

Today I pray the giver of peace fills each of us with overflowing peace as we listen for that quite voice that says “I love you.”

December 22, 2019 Our prayer for our Loved One today:

John 14:27 "I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid.”

Father God, you are the Prince of Peace. And you came to bring us the perfect peace that can only come from you. Lord, thank you for leaving us that gift. Peace of mind and heart. And I pray today that [our Loved One] would experience that gift in some small way. Through a touch, a smile, a sense that comes onto [him/her]. Lord, I pray that today [he/she] would look for that gift in You and not in anything the world can give [him/her]. And Lord, I pray that you would take any troubles, fear or anxiety and lift it from [our Loved One] today so that [he/she] can be completely filled to overflowing with Your peace!

A Full Pardon

The spirit of condemnation. The tool he uses to keep us sick.

“I am bad.”  “I am an addict.”  “I am the sum of my failures.”    “I will never get better”

The momentary numbing of the emotional pain always brings us back to bondage.

Today we pray against the spirit of condemnation and the spirit of failure.

But this is why He came.  To bear that shame on the cross.

No guilt, no shame.

A full pardon

December 21, 2019  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Romans 8:1-2 NIV
[1] Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, [2] because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.

Father we come before you today with the authority of the suffering Jesus Christ paid on the cross.  We thank you that because of his death we don’t have to live in lies and deception, that we can walk in truth.  We pray against any spirit of condemnation or failure that has taken hold of [our loved one].  We believe that through Christ Jesus,  your Spirit, who gives life to [our loved one],  will set [him/her] free from sin and death.   We believe that through you, true freedom will come to [our loved one].  We pray that all of [our loved one’s] chains will be broken today.  We pray this with confidence in your son's Holy and precious name.  Amen

The Great Love Rescue

The Christmas season.

This can be an incredibly difficult time of year.

But here is the truth.

Love came down in the form of a little baby to rescue us.

I pray that in the middle of the busyness of your day and your week, that you will take a moment to stop and pause and remember this…

He sees you.

And He LOVES you.

And it is ONLY out of the overflow of that love that we can love others.

And He sees your loved one.

May each of us have a love encounter with the Father himself today.

December 20, 2019  Our prayer for our loved one today:

1 Thessalonians 3:11-13 MSG [11-13] May God our Father himself and our Master Jesus clear the road to you! And may the Master pour on the love so it fills your lives and splashes over on everyone around you, just as it does from us to you. May you be infused with strength and purity, filled with confidence in the presence of God our Father when our Master Jesus arrives with all his followers.

Lord God, we come before you today with the desire to fully experience Your love in our lives.  We know that perfect love cast out all fear and that love never fails.  Lord our motive for our prayers is love.  Love for You and love for [our loved one].  Lord we pray today that You would intervene on our behalf and clear a road for [our loved one] straight to you!  Lord we pray that You would pour out Your love so fully that it fills [our loved one's] life and splashes over on everyone around [our loved one], just as it has done from You to us!  Lord we pray today that you would infuse [our loved one] with strength and purity.  That you would fill [our loved one] with confidence in Your presence Lord.  And that one day, when Your son appears You will say to us and to [our loved one] well done good and faithful servant.   We ask this in Your Son's precious name.  Amen.

He Heals the Shattered Soul

Sometimes we get so caught up in the trite sayings of "christianease."  Like "all things work for good."  And "Let go and let God."  or "everything happens for a reason."   I abhor those phrases.

Tell the mama who lost her son last night that all things work for good.

Tell the daddy who’s 18 year old daughter is shooting heroin to “let go.”

When we live with a loved one who is on a self-destructive path, we often live in the shadow of death and despair.

To be clear, death and disease and drugs and pain and grief....they were NOT part of God's plan.   He didn't cause them.  He didn't want this for His people.  He wanted us to live a perfect life with Him at the center.

In the Greek text the word for broken-hearted is shattered soul.  Thankfully His promise is to heal the shattered soul.

And He promises that while horrible things happen to us in this world He is able to take the ashes of grief and mourning and turn them into the beauty of joy and praise, comfort and hope.

December 19, 2019  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Isaiah 61:1-3 NIV [1] The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, [2] to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and ...to comfort all who mourn, [3] and provide for those who grieve in Zion---to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.

Abba daddy, we humbly come before You ready to receive the Good News that You have for us.  We thank You that Your desire is to bind up the brokenhearted and to FREE (our loved one) and to release each of us from the darkness that exists around us.  Lord, we proclaim Your favor over our life and (our loved one's) life and we receive the gift of Your comfort as we weep for (our loved one).  Lord we accept Your comfort as we grieve.  We rejoice in the coming day when you will bestow on us and on (our loved one) a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning and a garment of praise instead of despair, because that is Your perfect plan for us.  And we exalt the day when (our loved one) will be called an oak of righteousness and (he/she) will stand before You whole and healed in ALL of (his/her) slender and glory.  Lord, we receive today Your healing and Your faithful promises for our lives.  In Jesus precious name we pray.  Amen.

This morning ... May you take refuge in the shadow of His wings.

May you feast on the abundance of HIs love.

May you drink from the river of His refreshing spring of living water.

And may you be filled to overflowing with the light from His fountain of life.

December 18, 2019 Our Prayer For Our Loved One Today:

Psalm 36:7-9 NIV [7] How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings[8] They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights[9] For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light!

Oh Lord, your unfailing love is priceless! We thank you that you are a God who loves us and desires us and wants a relationship with us. We thank you that you love [our loved one] beyond measure. Lord, we pray today that [our loved one] would take refuge in the shadow of Your wings. We pray that [our loved one] would look for what [he/she] needs from you and you alone. We pray that [he/she] would feast on the abundance of Your house today and [he/she] drink from the river of your living water. For we know Lord that the fountain of light is in you! We pray that in Your light of your holy presence [he/she] would see and experience true and abundant life! We ask this in your son's precious name. Amen

I Will Go Before You

I will go before you my child....and make sure you have a place to sleep tonight.

I will go before you my child....and provide an angel to give you the hug that you so badly need.

I will go before you my child...and give you the food you need for lunch today.

I will go before you my child...and protect you from that person that meant to harm you.

I will go before you my child...and open the door for you to get the help you need.

I will go before you my sweet child and clear a path so wide that you will know that I am the Lord your God, the One who calls you by name.

December 17, 2019. Our prayer for our loved one today:

Isaiah 45:2-3 NLT [2] This is what the LORD says: "I will go before you, "my child", and level the mountains. I will smash down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron[3] And I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness- secret riches. I will do this so you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, the one who calls you by name.

Lord, we come before you today facing mountains. There is a wilderness in front of us and we see no way out. So we look to your word and your promises to give us strength and encouragement. And you are the God who can make a way through that wilderness. Lord, we believe that you are going before [our loved one] and that you are leveling mountains for [him/her]. Lord, you are smashing down gates of bronze and cutting through bars of iron, to make a path for [our loved one]. Lord, we know that you have amazing treasure in store for [our loved one]. Lord, we believe this will be so miraculous that there will be no denying you Lord, that [our loved one] will KNOW that you are the Lord, who calls [our loved one] by name. Lord, we trust your promises and believe this today. In your son's precious name we pray! Amen

He Will Bring Us Through the Fire

Fire… The killing off.

The cleansing.

The refining.

The clearing out for all that’s new.

He will bring us through the fire.

And just like in nature, after the fire will come abundance.

Beauty from ashes.

For us... For our loved one...

August 30, 2019 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 66:12 NLT [12] We went through fire and flood, but you brought us to a place of great abundance.

Lord, we come before you this today with expectation and hope in our hearts. We thank you that you are real and your promises are true. Lord, we believe that you go before us, you are with us and you go behind us. We are in the middle of the flood and the fire. Lord, [our loved one] is in the middle of the flood and fire. But you promise that you will bring [our loved one] through these trying times. Lord, we thank you! We thank you that one day [our loved one] will walk out of the fire and into a place of great abundance. That out of the ashes of our lives, something truly beautiful will be reborn. We trust you and today we are going to choose to walk in that hope! In Jesus precious name we pray.

The Victory has been Won

I believe that our words matter.

And I believe we are called to pray as if it is so, even though it isn't yet so.

These words say that each one of us has an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. And that we have great joy coming after the fire.

So walk in this truth today. Pray this over your children, over your family!

These trials will some day be over. Death has been defeated. The VICTORY has already been won!

We have this living hope as an anchor for our soul.

December 15, 2019 Our prayer for our loved one today.

1 Peter 1:3-4 NIV,6-7 NLT [3] Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, [4] and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, [6] So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while[7] These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith---of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire---may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

Lord, we rejoice in your love today. We rejoice in your power. We rejoice in your promises! We BELIEVE that this battle has already been won and victory has been accomplished! Lord, we give you praise for the living hope that we have. You have reserved an inheritance for [our loved one]. An inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. One that is kept in heaven just for [our loved one]. Lord we are truly glad! We wait in expectation for the wonderful joy that lays ahead for [our loved one] even though [he/she] is enduring many trials right now. We believe the end is coming and we claim that over [our loved one's] life today. We claim victory in this battle. We do not accept defeat because you have already triumphed. Lord, we give you praise and glory and honor for all that you are doing that we can't see! We wait in great expectation for all of this to occur and thank you in your Son's precious name. Amen!

I Am With You

“I am with you my child, as you sit up at night, waiting for the phone call.”

“I am with you at the family gathering when she’s not there.”

“I am with you at the hospital while you wait to hear if he’s alive or dead.”

“I am with you when you in the middle of the argument you are having with those you love.”

“I will sustain you.”

“I battling for you.”
“I will crush those who oppress you.”

“My faithfulness and my loyal love always accompanies you.”

You are not alone.

Your loved one is not alone.

December 14, 2019 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 89:20-24, 26 I have found my servant David. I anointed him with my holy oil. My hand will sustain him—yes, my arm will strengthen him! No enemy will oppress him; no wicked person will make him suffer. I will crush all his foes in front of him. I will strike down all those who hate him. My faithfulness and my loyal love will be with him. He will be strengthened by my name. He will cry out to me: “You are my father, my God, the rock of my salvation.”

Father God, we give thanks today that you have found your precious child, [our loved one]. Thank you that in your perfect timing you will anoint [our loved one] with your holy oil. Thank you that your hand sustains [him/her] and that your arms strengthen [him/her]. We pray that no enemy will oppress [our loved one] and that no wicked person will ever make [our loved one] suffer. Lord, crush down all of [our loved one’s] foes and strike down anyone who is against [our loved one]. Thank you, for comforting us with the knowledge that your faithfulness and your loyal love is always with [our loved one] and that [he/she] will be strengthened by your name. Lord we look forward to the day when [our loved one] will cry out to you "Abba, Father, my God, the rock of my salvation." Lord, we pray these things with confidence and assurance today in Jesus precious name! Amen!

He Carries our Burdens

I know....

During the Holiday season the burden you carry is extra heavy...

More to do...

More expenses...

More stress from the care of your peripheral loved ones...

And almost always, more uninvited drama.

The toll these days in December can take on some of you is astronomical.

But there is One who is willing to carry the pain, the loss, the grief, the heaviness of it all. Because you were not meant to do it alone. None of us were meant to do this alone.

Today, take the chains that you are wearing around your neck and lay them at the foot of the cross, as we pray for our loved ones to do the same.

December 13, 2019 Our Prayer for Our Loved One today: Matthew 11:28-30 NIV [28] “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. [29] Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. [30] For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Lord, our hearts are heavy today. Heavy for the lost. Heavy for the hurting. And heavy with our own pain. But Lord, we know there is only one way to release the pain and that is to come to you! Lord, we pray that (our loved one) would come to you today. Lord, (he/she) is weary, (he/she) is burdened. Lord provide a place of rest for (our loved one's) soul. Lord, we pray that (our loved one) would lay (his/her) burdens at your feet today, surrendering them all to you! Lord, we ask that you would lift (his/her) heavy yoke and replace it with the freedom that comes from choosing to live for You! We ask this in your son's precious name! Amen!

He Rescues

Recently I had the honor of meeting a young man who told me his story of rescue. He was in active addiction and at the end of himself. He cried out to the Lord that day, desperate for change, desperate to be done.

3 days later he "randomly" had an encounter with a person who happened to be the director of a faith based program in his area.

We don't know the thoughts that go through our loved ones heads.

We can't hear their hearts cry.

But God does.

He hears them and He sees their tears.

And He will be faithful to rescue them when they call out to Him.

We never know when that moment will come It is why we can never lose hope.

December 12, 2019 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 3:3-5,8 NIV [3] But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. [4] I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain. [5] I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me. [8] From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.

Oh Lord, thank you that you are a God who loves us and cares for us and loves our children even more than we do. Lord, we ask today that you be a shield around (our loved one). Lord, lift (our loved one's) head high today. Lord, when (our loved one) calls out to you we pray that you answer (him/her) from your Holy Mountain! Lord, when (our loved one) lies down to sleep let (him/her) awake anew because You sustain (him/her). Lord from YOU comes deliverance for (our loved one). Lord, may your blessings be on (him/her) today. We pray this in your Son's precious name! Amen. Copyright @ 2014 Praying Our Loved One Home

Yes Lord, Yes!

You may be in a place this morning where you are struggling with your faith. Struggling to believe God is who he says he is because you have been wounded, broken by someone you loved.

Or maybe for some reason you feel shamed or condemned.

And I want to whisper in your ear this morning.... That you are loved!

You are loved my friend. So much so that God gave His son up for you.

And that dark world you are living in can be completely consumed with the light of His love by simply turning to Him and saying "yes Lord." Yes.

August 24, 2019 Our prayer for our loved one today:

John 3:16-18A,21 NIV [16] For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life[17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him[18] Whoever believes in him is not condemned [21] whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

Heavenly Father....we are in awe of you today! Because You loved [our loved one] so much that You gave your one and only Son, so that when [our loved one] calls to him [he/she] will move from death to life. For God, we know that you did not send your Son into the world to condemn [our loved one], but to save [him/her] through You! Lord, we know that [our loved one] is not condemned and that when [our loved one] choses to live by the truth, the truth will come into the light so that it may be seen plainly by [our loved one] so that what [our loved one] has done has been done in the sight of God. Lord, we praise you and thank you that these things will come to pass in your perfect timing and look forward to eternity with [our loved one]! In Jesus Name we pray! Amen Copyright @ 2014 Praying Our Loved One Home
