He Bleeds

The words of this Psalm just cut to my heart but even more so from the Message version of the Bible.

"Because he rescues the poor at the first sign of need, the destitute who have run out of luck. He opens a place in his heart for the down-and-out, he restores the wretched of the earth. ...when they bleed, he bleeds; when they die, he dies.".   Psalm 72:12-14 Msg.

He opens his heart to the down and out
He restores the wretched
When they bleed, he bleeds.

When they bleed, he bleeds.

He not only sees your loved one, he not only loves them, but He cares so deeply, loves so fully that when they suffer, He suffers with them.

And it says that He WILL restore them.

He's always at work my friends.

Never ever give up hope.

September 6, 2018. Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 72:12-14 NIV
[12] For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help. [13] He will take pity on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death. [14] He will rescue them from oppression and violence, for precious is their blood in his sight.

Freedom

Praying today that the veil of oppression and deception, the spirits of addiction, unworthiness, self-doubts, fears, failure and any others strongholds would be torn in two by the power of the spirit of the living God!

Because where the spirit of the Lord is..there is FREEDOM!!

It has already been done for us.  I pray that each one of us would simply step into that today!

September 5, 201  Our prayer for our loved one today:

2 Corinthians 3:16-18 NLT
[16] But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. [17] For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. [18] So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord-who is the Spirit-makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

Lord, we enter into Your presence today on behalf of (our loved one) because we believe that You have the words of eternal life.  We believe that (our loved one) will turn to You and (his/her) vail will be taken away.  We agree that where Your Spirit is, there is FREEDOM!  We believe that the masks (our loved one's) wears will be soon be removed forever and (he/she) on that sweet day (he/she) will reflect Your glory!  We rejoice that in time (our loved one) will become more and more like You and that one day (he/she) will be transform into Your glorious image!  In Jesus Holy and precious name we pray!  Amen.

Peace I Give

Holidays, weekends, special events….

The empty chair at the table.

The obvious absence of our precious loved one.

The pain is impossible to walk through.

And we can't without leaning on Him.

Remember, as hard as it is for us, it's unbearable for Our Loved Ones. The distance. The separation. The alienation.

Yes, they can numb it, but when they wake up day after day in the same oppression, they feel restless and afraid and remorseful and dejected. And they don't know how to get out of that cycle.

Today I pray the giver of peace fills each of us with overflowing peace as we listen for that quite voice that says “I love you.”

John 14:27 NLT
[27] "I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid.

September 4, 2018  Our prayer for our Loved One today:

Father God, you are the Prince of Peace. And you came to bring us the perfect peace that can only come from you. Lord, thank you for leaving us that gift. Peace of mind and heart. And I pray today that [our Loved One] would experience that gift in some small way. Through a touch, a smile, a sense that comes onto [him/her]. Lord, I pray that today [he/she] would look for that gift in You and not in anything the world can give [him/her]. And Lord, I pray that you would take any troubles,  fear or anxiety and lift it from [our Loved One] today so that [he/she] can be completely filled to overflowing with Your peace!

Our “To Do” List Today

In the middle of the insanity, it's hard to trust...

You feel distant from God....

You are struggling with believing anything good will come from all of this....

And you simply want to do something to make it all better...

When the world tells you to do nothing, God in his wisdom gives us a guide for action.  So here is your lists of “do’s” for today:

Trust in Him:  He will keep you safe
Delight in Him (I mean radical joy!): He will give you the desires of your heart (He already knows the deep desires).
Commit your way to him (really commit - not just a little bit): You will shine like a star

And the most difficult of all...

Be patient:  Watch and see the wild, amazing thing God will do in your life and in your loved one’s life.

Praying today that we can focus on God’s “to do” list for us.   He is ready to do miracles!

September 3, 2018 Our Prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 37:3-6 NIV
[3] Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. [4] Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. [5] Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: [6] He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn…[7] Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him.

Lord, thank you that today you are a big God who can be completely trusted. As we trust in you we pray also that (our loved one) will trust in you and begin to do the right things so that (he/she) can live safely in this land.  Lord we pray that (our loved one) will take delight in you and you alone.  We know that as (he/she) begins to live for you, you will give (him/her) the desires of (his/her) heart.  We pray that (our loved one) would commit (his/her) ways to you and that (he/she) would trust in you and walk in your will.  We know that (our loved one’s) goodness will shine when that day comes.  We pray for that day to come quickly, but Lord, we know that it will come in your perfect timing.  We ask for patience and perseverance in the waiting.  We lift up all of this in you son's precious name.  Amen.

Strength and Peace

On this Sunday, I claim these verses over my life.  I claim these verses over my loved one’s life.

And I pray this over each of you who are struggling today.

May you be filled today with the gift of supernatural strength and peace that only He can give us.

September 2, 2018 Our Prayer for our Loved One today:

Psalm 29:11 NIV
[11] The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.

Abba daddy, we come to You this morning weak, tired and full of anxiety and turmoil because we know that our loved ones are wounded, lost and exhausted.  Lord, we know that You are the only source of true healing, true freedom.  Father God, we ask today that you would give strength  to (our loved one) today, because we know that (our loved one) is Your precious child.  We pray that You, in all of your love and mercy, pour out a special blessing of peace over (our loved one) as (he/she) struggles through this day.  You are the author and giver of life.  Lord, we pray today that (our loved one) would choose life.  We believe, in faith, that your promise will come to be and we step in to your perfect peace for us today as well.  We pray this in Your son’s precious name.  Amen

It's Not Yours to Carry

Psalm 55_22.jpg

The weight you are carrying….

It’s not yours to carry.

The burdens that you are holding on to…

Are not yours to bear.

But grace…

That measureless grace.

That is what is waiting for each of us…

If we are willing to lay it at the foot of the cross.

September 1, 2018 Our prayer for our Loved One today:

Psalm 55:22 TPT [22] So here's what I've learned through it all: Leave all your cares and anxieties at the feet of the Lord, and measureless grace will strengthen you.

Merciful Father, we sit at your feet today bearing the full weight of the burdens we are carrying.  The load is heavy.  Too heavy for us to manage on our own.  Lord, we know that the only way we are going to continue to climb this mountain is if we hand this load off to you.  Father, we release all of our cares, all of our anxieties all of our fears, over to you.  Lord, we pray this for (our loved one) as well.  (He/she) is suffocating under the weight of the strongholds and difficulties in (his/her) life.  We pray for a releasing today.  We pray that (our loved one) would let go of all that (he/she) is holding so tightly to, the things of this world that are of no use to (him/her).  Those things that hold (him/her) back from experiencing the full measure of your glorious grace.  Lord, strengthen (him/her).  Fill (him/her) with the power that only you can give (our loved one).  The God—strength that gives (him/her) the peace to say “Abba Father, I can’t, but you can.”    We pray these things in your son’s precious name.  Amen.

He’ll Take Your Hand

This morning you may feel lost and alone.  Like you are walking through unknown territory.  Like you are in a dark maze and keep running into walls at every turn.

I know that feeling so well.

But God says "I'll take the hand of those who don't know the way, who can't see where they're going.  I'll be their personal guide!"

He is your personally guide when you don't know which way to turn.  He'll keep you from going off the path and falling into the pit.

Just reach out and take his hand.  Let him guide you.

And I'm praying today that one day soon, our loved ones will look up and reach out and take His hand and let Him lead them out of the lies and confusion of their life into the light of His marvelous grace..

August 31, 2018 Our Prayer For Our Loved One Today

Isaiah 42:16 Msg.  But I'll take the hand of those who don't know the way, who can't see where they're going. I'll be a personal guide to them, directing them through unknown country. I'll be right there to show them what roads to take, make sure they don't fall into the ditch. These are the things I'll be doing for them— sticking with them, not leaving them for a minute."

Abba daddy, I need you today.  I am walking through unknown territory and I am lost.  I am scared.  I feel alone.  But Lord, I know that with you I am never alone.   I know that you are right there to grab my hand when I don't know the way.  And Lord, I am confident that when my grip gets weak, you, in your love, hold on tighter.  Lord, help me today to trust you.  And Lord, I thank you that you are always beside (our loved one).  Lord, (our loved one) is in unknown territory and you promise that you will be right there with (him/her).   Lord, show (him/her) the road that (he/she) needs to take.  Lord, guide (him/her).  Protect (him/her) so that (he/she) doesn't fall into the ditch.  Lord, I know that you are with (our loved one).   Thank you for your promise that you will stick with (our loved one) and that you won't leave (him/her).  And Lord, I pray today that you will guide (our loved one) home.  I pray this in your son's precious name.  Amen

Beauty From Ashes

Sometimes we get so caught up in the trite sayings of "christianease."  Like "all things work for good."  And "Let go and let God."  or "everything happens for a reason."   I abhor those phrases.  To be clear, death and disease and drugs and pain and grief....they were NOT part of God's plan.   He didn't cause them.  He didn't want this for His people.  He wanted us to live a perfect life with Him at the center.

For years we were so consumed by our loved one’s struggles, in such gut wrenching pain, we could barely function most days.  We lived in the shadow of death and despair.

Thankfully healing, freedom, joy and peace ARE part of his plan.

And He promises that while horrible things happen to us in this world He is able to take the ashes of grief and mourning and make something beautiful from them.

August 30, 20018  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Isaiah 61:1-3 NIV [1] The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, [2] to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and ...to comfort all who mourn, [3] and provide for those who grieve in Zion---to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.

Abba daddy, we humbly come before You ready to receive the Good News that You have for us.  We thank You that Your desire is to bind up the brokenhearted and to FREE (our loved one) and to release each of us from the darkness that exists around us.  Lord, we proclaim Your favor over our life and (our loved one's) life and we receive the gift of Your comfort as we weep for (our loved one).  Lord we accept Your comfort as we grieve.  We rejoice in the coming day when you will bestow on us and on (our loved one) a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning and a garment of praise instead of despair, because that is Your perfect plan for us.  And we exalt the day when (our loved one) will be called an oak of righteousness and (he/she) will stand before You whole and healed in ALL of (his/her) slender and glory.  Lord, we receive today Your healing and Your faithful promises for our lives.  In Jesus precious name we pray.  Amen.

Marvelous Grace

1 Peter 1_13.jpg

The yelling, the shaming, the anger, the chaos.  The crazy things I’ve done on this journey in my selfish efforts to change my loved one.

The mistakes along the dusty path.

But there is grace.

My heart’s desire today is that I would become a better version of myself.  Walking in love and overflowing with that marvelous grace.

And as I experience the unfolding beauty of all that that He gives me, my hope is that I would reflect that to my loved one.

SO that he would experience the miracle of His marvelous grace.

August 29, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

1 Peter 1:13-15 TPT

[13] So then, prepare your hearts and minds for action! Stay alert and fix your hope firmly on the marvelous grace that is coming to you. For when Jesus Christ is unveiled, a greater measure of grace will be released to you. [14] As God's obedient children, never again shape your lives by the desires that you followed when you didn't know better. [15] Instead, shape your lives to become like the Holy One who called you.

Almighty Father, we come before you today because you are holy and powerful and loving.  We believe that your grace is greater than all of our failures and mis-steps. Lord, we pray on behalf of (our loved one) today, that even now you are molding and preparing (our loved one’s) heart and mind for the glorious unfolding in front of (him/her).  Lord, we pray that you would set (our loved one's) mind on the hope that your grace in Jesus Christ brings.  We pray that (our loved one) would let go of the desires that come from living (his/her) old life, a life of pain and suffering.  We believe that you have called (our loved one) to become like you in every way. We pray these words in the confidence that they will be full-filled swiftly.  In Jesus Holy Name we pray!  Amen

God’s Word - Our Truth

You know, the reason I pray scripture prayers and share them is because I believe the Bible is real and true.  And that we don't get to pick and choose the parts that we want to believe and those that we don't think apply to us.

So when God says He loves us, it's pretty easy to believe that.  We admit that we know that's true.

But when God says He wants to heal us or He wants to restore us or He came to bring life to EVERYONE or He wants us to be strong in the spirit, we tend to think...we'll that works for others (the pastor at church, the person next door, the righteous one) but we we have a hard time believing those truths for our lives.  We deeply doubt that those things could happen for us or our family or our loved one.

But I have seen healing.  I have seen restoration.  I have seen lovely people, people you meet on the street who are living a prosperous, abundant life who will tell you their stories of deliverance and redemption.  People who were on the streets for YEARS.  People who were homeless and in bondage to drugs and alcohol.

People who were blind and now see...

People who were lost and now are found...

THAT IS WHAT OUR GOD CAN DO!!!

August 25, 2018  Our prayer for our loved one today:

1 Corinthians 2:9 NIV
[9] However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”---the things God has prepared for those who love him---

Lord, we come before you this morning with thanksgiving and gratitude for the love that you have for us.  We believe that you have a great plan for (our loved one). We wait expectantly for what you have in store for (him/her).  Lord, no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no human mind can conceive the things that You have prepared for (our loved one).  We pray with confidence that you hold (our loved one’s) future.  We wait in hope for what you are about to do.  In your son's precious name we pray. Amen!

Let Me Tell of His Greatness

They put on this tough exterior.  They seem unbreakable.

Even though our loved ones put on this tough "I don't care about anything" act, they are dying inside and they know it.  They live in a cycle of guilt and shame. They tell themselves every time they engage in self-destructive behavior, it will be the last time and when they engage in it again and  again they have failed in their minds.  Their identity becomes that they are a failure.

And I think they are crying, just crying for help.  Silent screams that they think no one hears.

Rescue me!  RESCUE ME!!!!

And I KNOW to that we have all cried these words too.  We are hoarse from our pleas.

These words....Lord, rescue them today.  Don't look the other way.  They are hurt and in pain.   Come close and get them out of this mess they are in.

But he hears our cries and he will answer.  He is always on time and one day… one day our loved ones will sing a new song!

August 24, 2018 Our Prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 69:1,3,6,13-14,16-18,29-30 MSG
[1] God, God, save me! I'm in over my head, [3] I'm hoarse from calling for help, Bleary-eyed from searching the sky for God. [6] Don't let those who look to you in hope Be discouraged by what happens to me...[13] And me? I pray. God , it's time for a break! God, answer in love! Answer with your sure salvation! [14] Rescue me...Don't let me go under for good, Pull me out of the clutch of the enemy; This whirlpool is sucking me down. [16] Now answer me, God , because you love me; Let me see your great mercy full-face. [17] Don't look the other way; ...[18] Come close, God; get me out of here. Rescue me from this deathtrap. [29] I'm hurt and in pain; Give me space for healing, and mountain air. [30] Let me shout God's name with a praising song, Let me tell his greatness in a prayer of thanks.

Lord, we call out to you today in desperation.  We confess that we struggle at times with questions.  With unbelief.  With a lack of faith.  But Lord, we believe that your desire is that not one, NOT ONE of your children should parish.  Abba daddy, save (our loved one).   (Our loved one) is in over (his/her) head.  We  know (he/she) is tired and hoarse  from crying out for help, weary from searching for you God.  We look to you for our hope, Lord. Encourage us by answering our cries for (our loved one).  It’s time for a break for (our loved one), answer us  in love.  Answer us with a sure rescue of (our loved one).  We ask that you pull (our loved one) out of the clutch of the enemy.  (He/she) is getting sucked down, sucked in.  Rescue (him/her) today, because you love (him/her).  Let us see your great mercy full-face today!  Come close to us.  We are hurt.  We are in pain.  Lord, give us all space for healing.  Even in the pain we shout your name and praise you because of your great love.  Lord, we believe today in your power and strength.  We pray this prayer in your son’s precious name.  Amen

He Turns Our Darkness to Light

I think almost every person who has ever struggled with addiction or depression or anxiety or has walked through the dark valley and is on the other side, would read this and say this was their experience.

He will meet us in our deepest anguish when we cry out to him...

He will rescue us...

And he will bring us to a spacious place, a place of a kind of freedom that we could never have imagined.

He turns our darkness in to light.

August 23, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

2 Samuel 22:7,17-18,20,29 NIV
[7] “In my distress I called to the Lord; I called out to my God. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came to his ears. [17] “He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. [18] He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me. [20] He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me. [29] You, Lord, are my lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light.

Abba Daddy, today we call out to you on behalf of (our loved one).  Hear our voice, hear our cry for (our loved one).  Lord, we pray that you reach down from on high and take ahold of (our loved one); Draw (him/her) out of the deep waters (he/she) is in.  We believe that You have the power to rescue (our loved one) from (his/her)  enemy, from the strongholds  that have overcome (him/her).  We ask that you bring (our loved one) into a spacious place; Rescue (our loved one) so that (he/she) can delight in You.  Lord, you are our lamp. We pray on behalf of (our loved one) that You will turn (his/her) darkness into light.  In Jesus name we believe that these things will come to pass.  Amen!

I AM

A family wondering where their child is, because they haven’t heard from him in months.

A grandma, raising her grandson, without money for groceries.

A couple, dropping their child off at rehab for the 9th time, hoping this time it works.

A mama, just last night, calling the police on her own child because he pulled a gun on her.

A family learning yesterday that their child is gone forever.

These are the things that some of you are facing today.  And you are wondering how you are going to go on, or even if God exists.

He IS there...

And he wrote these words filled with so much HOPE just for you today, just for your loved one today.

Simple words full of the power to sustain us.

He will rescue you my friend...

He will carry you through this day.

August 23, 2018  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Isaiah 46:4 NIV
[4] I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.

Lord you are HE!  You are the great I am.  You are the One who loves us and we thank you because you are FULLY trustworthy.  Abba Father, sustain us today.  Give us the strength to walk through this day in Your peace, Your joy, Your power.   Lord, you know (our loved one), for you created (him/her).  We ask that you carry (our loved one) through this day.  Watch over (him/her), protect (him/her).  And sustain (our loved one).  Give (him/her) this day, (his/her)  daily bread.  Meet (his/her) needs whatever they are.   And finally Lord, we cry out to you for (our loved one's) rescue.  Whatever it is that (he/she) is battling today, we ask that you swoop (him/her) up and wrap (him/her) in your loving arms as only you can.  Deliver (him/her) from whatever unknown, unseen forces are holding (him/her) captive.  Father, we believe… we KNOW that you are a GOOD God and have the power to change lives.  Lord, we ask for your life saving intervention today.  We pray this in your Son's precious name.

Fear Not

Fear.  Fear is such an integral part of what drives us.  It is often the catalyst for what drives our loved ones towards destructive behaviors.  And it is what can drive us to control, to manipulate, to "over-care" for our loved ones.

But this...

This...

This promise from God to you...

You do NOT need to fear...

For He is with you...

He will strengthen you...

He will hold you up with his mighty mighty hand...

Because YOU, my friend....are chosen.

August 21, 2018  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Isaiah 41:8-10 NIV
[8] “But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend, [9] I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, 'You are my servant'; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. [10] So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Father God, we come before you today hopeful.  Filled with faith because we trust you.  Lord, you are a God who can make anything new.  You are the God of fresh starts.  And you are a aGod who doesn't break His promises.  We know that (our loved one) is chosen!  You called (him/her).  Lord, we ask that today would be the day that (our love done) hears that soft voice in (his/her) ear that says, "You, my precious child, you are my servant; I have chose you and have not rejected you."  We pray that (our loved one) would not fear because (he/she) would feel You with (him/her).  We pray that (our loved one) would not be dismayed because (he/she) will know that You are (his/her) God! We ask that you strengthen (our loved one) and help (him/her), that you would uphold our precious (loved one) with Your righteous mighty right hand.  We believe You for all of this today because we know that You love (our loved one) even more than we do.  Give us the courage and strength to walk through this day with that confident knowledge.  In Jesus precious name we pray.  Amen

I Will Carry You

He knows….

He knows the burdens you carry….

He knows your pain…He has felt it.

Let him catch your tears today...

Let him breathe healing into your hurting, broken heart...

Let him wrap you up with His love...

August 20, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Isaiah 43:1-2,4 NIV
[1] But now, this is what the Lord says---he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. [2] When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. [4] Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life.

Heavenly Father, our hearts are breaking today.  The pain at times, can be unbearable.  But You, You Lord are the one and only who can heal our hurting heart.  Today we cling to your promises.  Because you created (our loved one), you formed (him/her) we need not fear.  You have redeemed (our loved one).  You have summoned (our loved one) by name and (he/she) is Yours!  Lord we believe today in your promises that when (our loved one) passes through the deep waters, You will be with (him/her) and when (our loved one) is drowning in the river of life, it will not sweep over (him/her).  We believe that even when (our loved one) walks through the fire,  You will protect (him/her) and not allow (him/her) to be burned.  We trust that (our loved one) is precious and honored in Your sight and that because you love (our loved one) so much you gave Your son, Jesus in exchange for (our loved one).  A life for a life.  We are in awe of that sacrifice.  We do not take it lightly.  And we pray today that (our loved one) would open (his/her) heart to see You in a very real way and (he/she) would understand in a moment, Your redemption and the abundant life you have waiting for (him/her)!  We thank you for all you are doing in the heavenly realms that we can't see.  We believe that you are at work in a mighty way.  We trust in your deliverance today!  We pray this in Jesus precious name.  Amen!

His Lost Sheep

Yesterday I went down to the Tent City.  I distributed life saving naloxone kits and clean needles to the homeless native population.  I saw beautiful people down there.  People with hopes and dreams, just like me.  I saw people interact with love in their hearts, just like me.  I saw my prodigal in the eyes of every one of those people.  Lost souls who just want someone to love them.

God never sleeps.  He is always watching over us.  And his heart grieves when one of his children goes astray.  Just like a shepherd who won't rest if one of his sheep has gone missing, so our Lord won't relent until his child is back in his arms.

He is looking for them now my friends.  He is searching for his lost sheep to bring them home.   And as he calls out their names, he is waiting for them to respond and say "Yes Lord."

August 18, 2018 Our Prayer for our Loved One Today:

Ezekiel 34:11-13 NIV
[11] “ ‘For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them. [12] As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness. [13] I will bring them out from the nations...and I will bring them into their own land.

Father God, we come before you today in pain.  Broken. At the end of our own understanding.  But thankful because we know we can completely trust your word.  Lord, we hold on to the belief that the promises of scripture will come to pass.  Thank you that you promise to search for (our loved one) and look after (him/her).  Lord, just as a shepherd leaves his scattered flock to find the one, we ask that you will chase after (our loved one) and that you will rescue (him/her) from the place where (he/she) is at today, a place of clouds and darkness.  We as that you bring (our loved one) out of that foreign place (he/she) is living in and deliver (him/her) back to (his/her) home to (his/her) family.  Lord we know that nothing is impossible with you and we ask that this deliverance comes today.  Lord we pray this in your son's Holy Name!  Amen!

The LIghthouse That Guides Us

I was shopping in a small resort town in up North Minnesota and saw a sign with this verse on it.  So I cross referenced and realized that I don't have it in a prayer.  Oh my, how perfect this verse is for both us and our loved one.

He is the lighthouse that guides us.  He is the refuge in the storm.  He is where I draw my strength and comfort from.  And today I'll pray that my loved one will be led back to the light.

August 17, 2018 Our Prayer for Our Loved One Today:

Psalm 141:8 NIV [8] But my eyes are fixed on you, Sovereign Lord; in you I take refuge....

Oh Abba Father, we come to you today weak, tired and lost.  Not able to see what's in front of us because of the storms that are raging around us.  Lord, we know that the only way through the storm is to keep our eyes fixed on you, to not lose sight of the light that is always there to guide us.  And Lord, today we humbly ask that (our loved one) would make that decision, that decision to fix (his/her) eyes on you.  Lord we ask that You, in your sovereignty would guide (our loved one) back to a place of safety and refuge in You alone.  Lord, protect (him/her), keep (him/her) safe through in the darkness and bring (him/her) back to calm waters.  We know this is Your desire and we believe that it will happen.  We ask this in Your Son's precious name.  Amen!
