God’s Word - Our Truth

You know, the reason I pray scripture prayers and share them is because I believe the Bible is real and true.  And that we don't get to pick and choose the parts that we want to believe and those that we don't think apply to us.

So when God says He loves us, it's pretty easy to believe that.  We admit that we know that's true.

But when God says He wants to heal us or He wants to restore us or He came to bring life to EVERYONE or He wants us to be strong in the spirit, we tend to think...we'll that works for others (the pastor at church, the person next door, the righteous one) but we we have a hard time believing those truths for our lives.  We deeply doubt that those things could happen for us or our family or our loved one.

But I have seen healing.  I have seen restoration.  I have seen lovely people, people you meet on the street who are living a prosperous, abundant life who will tell you their stories of deliverance and redemption.  People who were on the streets for YEARS.  People who were homeless and in bondage to drugs and alcohol.

People who were blind and now see...

People who were lost and now are found...

THAT IS WHAT OUR GOD CAN DO!!!

August 25, 2018  Our prayer for our loved one today:

1 Corinthians 2:9 NIV
[9] However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”---the things God has prepared for those who love him---

Lord, we come before you this morning with thanksgiving and gratitude for the love that you have for us.  We believe that you have a great plan for (our loved one). We wait expectantly for what you have in store for (him/her).  Lord, no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no human mind can conceive the things that You have prepared for (our loved one).  We pray with confidence that you hold (our loved one’s) future.  We wait in hope for what you are about to do.  In your son's precious name we pray. Amen!

Let Me Tell of His Greatness

They put on this tough exterior.  They seem unbreakable.

Even though our loved ones put on this tough "I don't care about anything" act, they are dying inside and they know it.  They live in a cycle of guilt and shame. They tell themselves every time they engage in self-destructive behavior, it will be the last time and when they engage in it again and  again they have failed in their minds.  Their identity becomes that they are a failure.

And I think they are crying, just crying for help.  Silent screams that they think no one hears.

Rescue me!  RESCUE ME!!!!

And I KNOW to that we have all cried these words too.  We are hoarse from our pleas.

These words....Lord, rescue them today.  Don't look the other way.  They are hurt and in pain.   Come close and get them out of this mess they are in.

But he hears our cries and he will answer.  He is always on time and one day… one day our loved ones will sing a new song!

August 24, 2018 Our Prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 69:1,3,6,13-14,16-18,29-30 MSG
[1] God, God, save me! I'm in over my head, [3] I'm hoarse from calling for help, Bleary-eyed from searching the sky for God. [6] Don't let those who look to you in hope Be discouraged by what happens to me...[13] And me? I pray. God , it's time for a break! God, answer in love! Answer with your sure salvation! [14] Rescue me...Don't let me go under for good, Pull me out of the clutch of the enemy; This whirlpool is sucking me down. [16] Now answer me, God , because you love me; Let me see your great mercy full-face. [17] Don't look the other way; ...[18] Come close, God; get me out of here. Rescue me from this deathtrap. [29] I'm hurt and in pain; Give me space for healing, and mountain air. [30] Let me shout God's name with a praising song, Let me tell his greatness in a prayer of thanks.

Lord, we call out to you today in desperation.  We confess that we struggle at times with questions.  With unbelief.  With a lack of faith.  But Lord, we believe that your desire is that not one, NOT ONE of your children should parish.  Abba daddy, save (our loved one).   (Our loved one) is in over (his/her) head.  We  know (he/she) is tired and hoarse  from crying out for help, weary from searching for you God.  We look to you for our hope, Lord. Encourage us by answering our cries for (our loved one).  It’s time for a break for (our loved one), answer us  in love.  Answer us with a sure rescue of (our loved one).  We ask that you pull (our loved one) out of the clutch of the enemy.  (He/she) is getting sucked down, sucked in.  Rescue (him/her) today, because you love (him/her).  Let us see your great mercy full-face today!  Come close to us.  We are hurt.  We are in pain.  Lord, give us all space for healing.  Even in the pain we shout your name and praise you because of your great love.  Lord, we believe today in your power and strength.  We pray this prayer in your son’s precious name.  Amen

He Turns Our Darkness to Light

I think almost every person who has ever struggled with addiction or depression or anxiety or has walked through the dark valley and is on the other side, would read this and say this was their experience.

He will meet us in our deepest anguish when we cry out to him...

He will rescue us...

And he will bring us to a spacious place, a place of a kind of freedom that we could never have imagined.

He turns our darkness in to light.

August 23, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

2 Samuel 22:7,17-18,20,29 NIV
[7] “In my distress I called to the Lord; I called out to my God. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came to his ears. [17] “He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. [18] He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me. [20] He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me. [29] You, Lord, are my lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light.

Abba Daddy, today we call out to you on behalf of (our loved one).  Hear our voice, hear our cry for (our loved one).  Lord, we pray that you reach down from on high and take ahold of (our loved one); Draw (him/her) out of the deep waters (he/she) is in.  We believe that You have the power to rescue (our loved one) from (his/her)  enemy, from the strongholds  that have overcome (him/her).  We ask that you bring (our loved one) into a spacious place; Rescue (our loved one) so that (he/she) can delight in You.  Lord, you are our lamp. We pray on behalf of (our loved one) that You will turn (his/her) darkness into light.  In Jesus name we believe that these things will come to pass.  Amen!

I AM

A family wondering where their child is, because they haven’t heard from him in months.

A grandma, raising her grandson, without money for groceries.

A couple, dropping their child off at rehab for the 9th time, hoping this time it works.

A mama, just last night, calling the police on her own child because he pulled a gun on her.

A family learning yesterday that their child is gone forever.

These are the things that some of you are facing today.  And you are wondering how you are going to go on, or even if God exists.

He IS there...

And he wrote these words filled with so much HOPE just for you today, just for your loved one today.

Simple words full of the power to sustain us.

He will rescue you my friend...

He will carry you through this day.

August 23, 2018  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Isaiah 46:4 NIV
[4] I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.

Lord you are HE!  You are the great I am.  You are the One who loves us and we thank you because you are FULLY trustworthy.  Abba Father, sustain us today.  Give us the strength to walk through this day in Your peace, Your joy, Your power.   Lord, you know (our loved one), for you created (him/her).  We ask that you carry (our loved one) through this day.  Watch over (him/her), protect (him/her).  And sustain (our loved one).  Give (him/her) this day, (his/her)  daily bread.  Meet (his/her) needs whatever they are.   And finally Lord, we cry out to you for (our loved one's) rescue.  Whatever it is that (he/she) is battling today, we ask that you swoop (him/her) up and wrap (him/her) in your loving arms as only you can.  Deliver (him/her) from whatever unknown, unseen forces are holding (him/her) captive.  Father, we believe… we KNOW that you are a GOOD God and have the power to change lives.  Lord, we ask for your life saving intervention today.  We pray this in your Son's precious name.

Fear Not

Fear.  Fear is such an integral part of what drives us.  It is often the catalyst for what drives our loved ones towards destructive behaviors.  And it is what can drive us to control, to manipulate, to "over-care" for our loved ones.

But this...

This...

This promise from God to you...

You do NOT need to fear...

For He is with you...

He will strengthen you...

He will hold you up with his mighty mighty hand...

Because YOU, my friend....are chosen.

August 21, 2018  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Isaiah 41:8-10 NIV
[8] “But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend, [9] I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, 'You are my servant'; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. [10] So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Father God, we come before you today hopeful.  Filled with faith because we trust you.  Lord, you are a God who can make anything new.  You are the God of fresh starts.  And you are a aGod who doesn't break His promises.  We know that (our loved one) is chosen!  You called (him/her).  Lord, we ask that today would be the day that (our love done) hears that soft voice in (his/her) ear that says, "You, my precious child, you are my servant; I have chose you and have not rejected you."  We pray that (our loved one) would not fear because (he/she) would feel You with (him/her).  We pray that (our loved one) would not be dismayed because (he/she) will know that You are (his/her) God! We ask that you strengthen (our loved one) and help (him/her), that you would uphold our precious (loved one) with Your righteous mighty right hand.  We believe You for all of this today because we know that You love (our loved one) even more than we do.  Give us the courage and strength to walk through this day with that confident knowledge.  In Jesus precious name we pray.  Amen

I Will Carry You

He knows….

He knows the burdens you carry….

He knows your pain…He has felt it.

Let him catch your tears today...

Let him breathe healing into your hurting, broken heart...

Let him wrap you up with His love...

August 20, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Isaiah 43:1-2,4 NIV
[1] But now, this is what the Lord says---he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. [2] When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. [4] Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life.

Heavenly Father, our hearts are breaking today.  The pain at times, can be unbearable.  But You, You Lord are the one and only who can heal our hurting heart.  Today we cling to your promises.  Because you created (our loved one), you formed (him/her) we need not fear.  You have redeemed (our loved one).  You have summoned (our loved one) by name and (he/she) is Yours!  Lord we believe today in your promises that when (our loved one) passes through the deep waters, You will be with (him/her) and when (our loved one) is drowning in the river of life, it will not sweep over (him/her).  We believe that even when (our loved one) walks through the fire,  You will protect (him/her) and not allow (him/her) to be burned.  We trust that (our loved one) is precious and honored in Your sight and that because you love (our loved one) so much you gave Your son, Jesus in exchange for (our loved one).  A life for a life.  We are in awe of that sacrifice.  We do not take it lightly.  And we pray today that (our loved one) would open (his/her) heart to see You in a very real way and (he/she) would understand in a moment, Your redemption and the abundant life you have waiting for (him/her)!  We thank you for all you are doing in the heavenly realms that we can't see.  We believe that you are at work in a mighty way.  We trust in your deliverance today!  We pray this in Jesus precious name.  Amen!

His Lost Sheep

Yesterday I went down to the Tent City.  I distributed life saving naloxone kits and clean needles to the homeless native population.  I saw beautiful people down there.  People with hopes and dreams, just like me.  I saw people interact with love in their hearts, just like me.  I saw my prodigal in the eyes of every one of those people.  Lost souls who just want someone to love them.

God never sleeps.  He is always watching over us.  And his heart grieves when one of his children goes astray.  Just like a shepherd who won't rest if one of his sheep has gone missing, so our Lord won't relent until his child is back in his arms.

He is looking for them now my friends.  He is searching for his lost sheep to bring them home.   And as he calls out their names, he is waiting for them to respond and say "Yes Lord."

August 18, 2018 Our Prayer for our Loved One Today:

Ezekiel 34:11-13 NIV
[11] “ ‘For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them. [12] As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness. [13] I will bring them out from the nations...and I will bring them into their own land.

Father God, we come before you today in pain.  Broken. At the end of our own understanding.  But thankful because we know we can completely trust your word.  Lord, we hold on to the belief that the promises of scripture will come to pass.  Thank you that you promise to search for (our loved one) and look after (him/her).  Lord, just as a shepherd leaves his scattered flock to find the one, we ask that you will chase after (our loved one) and that you will rescue (him/her) from the place where (he/she) is at today, a place of clouds and darkness.  We as that you bring (our loved one) out of that foreign place (he/she) is living in and deliver (him/her) back to (his/her) home to (his/her) family.  Lord we know that nothing is impossible with you and we ask that this deliverance comes today.  Lord we pray this in your son's Holy Name!  Amen!

The LIghthouse That Guides Us

I was shopping in a small resort town in up North Minnesota and saw a sign with this verse on it.  So I cross referenced and realized that I don't have it in a prayer.  Oh my, how perfect this verse is for both us and our loved one.

He is the lighthouse that guides us.  He is the refuge in the storm.  He is where I draw my strength and comfort from.  And today I'll pray that my loved one will be led back to the light.

August 17, 2018 Our Prayer for Our Loved One Today:

Psalm 141:8 NIV [8] But my eyes are fixed on you, Sovereign Lord; in you I take refuge....

Oh Abba Father, we come to you today weak, tired and lost.  Not able to see what's in front of us because of the storms that are raging around us.  Lord, we know that the only way through the storm is to keep our eyes fixed on you, to not lose sight of the light that is always there to guide us.  And Lord, today we humbly ask that (our loved one) would make that decision, that decision to fix (his/her) eyes on you.  Lord we ask that You, in your sovereignty would guide (our loved one) back to a place of safety and refuge in You alone.  Lord, protect (him/her), keep (him/her) safe through in the darkness and bring (him/her) back to calm waters.  We know this is Your desire and we believe that it will happen.  We ask this in Your Son's precious name.  Amen!

He Makes All Things Beautiful

Recently a sweet young lady in recovery reached out to me.  As a result of her difficulties, she had lost everything including her children.  She would soon have the opportunity to go to court to get her little boy back.   Sadly, her family has all but given up on her.  But God had not.  And He is restoring her life.

I was reflecting about how, even though it doesn't seem like it, God has everything under control.   What her family saw as hopeless, God saw as possible.  What her family saw as broken, God saw as whole.    And in God’s perfect timing, God is transforming her story into a beautiful story of redemption.

We can't even begin to see all that he is doing behind the scenes as he hears our hearts cry for our loved one and answers those prayers.  His ways are not our ways.  And his timing is not always our timing.  But in His absolute perfect timing, He WILL make everything beautiful again.

These words are our hope.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 NLT
[11] Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart. but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.

August 16, 2018 Our Prayer for our Loved One today:

Lord we come before you today, filled with questions, with fears, at times with resignation. We come to you looking for peace, for hope.  And we thank you that your word gives us that hope.  We believe that you have made everything perfectly and wonderfully.   Lord, we believe that you have planted eternity in (our loved one's) heart.  That you created (him/her) with a desire for you and your love. We know that in your perfect time (our loved one) will discover that desire, will choose abundance over desperation, will choose life over death.  And we believe that in your perfect time (he/she) will once again become bright and beautiful  and all that you have created (our loved one) to be.  Lord, we can’t  begin to imagine all you are doing in (our loved one's) life right now.  We can't see the big picture, the whole scope of your work.  But Lord, we stand on your promises and we choose trust instead of fear, hope where there is none and love above all else.  We thank you that you can make our life bright and beautiful as well.  We pray these things in your son's precious name!  Amen!

You Are Set Apart

You may need to pray this today because you need to remember how precious the hard to love are...

Yesterday may have been hard.  Yesterday your heart may have been broken.  Yesterday you may have shattered.

But God knows you.  And He has set you apart.   And he has appointed you for such a time as this.

And just as he has set you apart, he has set your loved one apart.

Thanking God that He loves perfectly.  And learning to love like Him.

August 15, 2018  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Jeremiah 1:5 NIV
[5] “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you...

Lord, thank you.  Thank you that You are the God of the universe and the God of the smallest organism and the God of (my loved one).  Lord I thank you that you created (our loved one) perfectly and wonderfully.   I thank you that before (he/she) was even conceived You KNEW (him/her).  Lord thank you that (our loved one) is set apart.  You have a plan.  You have a purpose for (his/her) life.   You have appointed (our loved one) to do specific things for your kingdom.  Lord, I pray that (our loved one) would, through something or someone, see you today.   That (he/she) would experience Your love.  And that today would be the day (he/she ) would begin to understand how much You love (him/her).  We pray this in Your son's precious name.  Amen!

New Life

When our heart is breaking comfort comes when we sit at His feet.

Love comes when we pray for those that are hard to love.

Joy comes when we pray gratitude over our situations even when the challenges seem insurmountable.

I have one certain defense in my battle for the heart of my child.  It is my prayers.

August 14, 201 Our prayer for our loved one today.

Zephaniah 3:17 GNT
[17] The LORD your God is with you; his power gives you victory. The LORD will take delight in you, and in his love he will give you new life. He will sing and be joyful over you,

Be...

Be brave my warrior son, when you are going through withdrawal and are shaking for your next fix.

Be brave, my warrior daughter, when you feel that your only option for food is to earn money in the hotel room you are in.

Be strong, warrior daddy, when the alcohol is drawing you away from the children who are standing at the door crying for you to come back.

Be strong, warrior mama, when your kids are in the back seat watching you with the strap around your arm.

Don’t give up warrior sister, when you haven’t heard from your loved one in months.

Don’t give up warrior brother, when your dreams have been broken like shattered glass.

I am with you.  I am beside you.  I am waiting to give you everything you need to live.  With a simple whisper…”Help me.”

August 13, 2018 Our prayer for our Loved One today:

Psalm 31:24 MSG
[24] Be brave. Be strong. Don't give up. Expect God to get here soon.

Almighty God, you are our strength and shield.  We praise you today because you alone have the power to make us brave and strong and steadfast.  Lord, we sit at your feet today, interceding on behalf of (our loved one) who is fearful, who is weak, who is ready to quit.  And we pray today that you would come quickly to (him/her).  Fill (our loved one) with courage, as (he/she) struggles to be brave.  Fill (our loved one) with power, as (he/she) struggles to be strong.  And fill (our loved one) with endurance, as (he/she) struggles to fight another day.  Lord, we sit in anticipation that you are already with (him/her).  You are sitting next to (him/her) in that tent, in the shelter, in the front seat of the car, in the motel, in the broken mess of (his/her) life.  And that as (he/she) cries out to you today, you will perform the ultimate rescue.  We thank you that the work has already been done and all we have to do is receive it.  We pray this prayer in your son’s precious name.  Amen.

Your Power Saves Me

Today, for some of you reading this,  it's hard to simply breathe let alone try to fake it through your day.  I understand.  I have walked that path.

My prayer for you today is that you will press into HIS light. I PRAY that you will feel his love wrap you up.

And our hearts cry is that our loved ones would somehow, someway, through a divine appointment discover how much God loves them and they would be strengthened by that love.

He has a perfect plan for your life.  He has a perfect plan for your loved one's life.    Hold on to the hope of that truth.

August 12, 2018  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Psalm 138:7-8 NLT
[7] Though I am surrounded by troubles, you will protect me from the anger of my enemies. You reach out your hand, and the power of your right hand saves me. [8] The LORD will work out his plans for my life- for your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever. Don't abandon me, for you made me.

Lord, today we begin this prayer grateful because we know that we can trust you.  Because of your love for us we are always filled with hope.  Your word says that in this world we WILL have troubles and today we are surrounded by trouble and (our loved one) is surrounded by trouble.   Lord, protect (our loved one) from the enemies that entangle (him/her).  We ask that you reach out your right hand and with the power that only you possess, that you save (our loved one).  Lord, we believe that you have a special plan for (our loved one’s) life and even now, in the midst of darkness you are working out that perfect plan because of your great love for (our loved one).  Abba Daddy, you created (our loved one) perfectly and wonderfully, so we trust that in Your great love.  We know you have not abandoned (our loved one) and we wait on You expectantly for our prayers to be answered in Your son's precious name!  Amen

Grace

“I have seen what they do, but I will heal them anyway.”  This morning, those words truly cut deep.

He sees what we do...every little scowl, every eye-ball roll, every middle-finger.  He hears our gossip, our anger, our complaining.  He sees the pills we take, the wine we drink and the porn we watch.

And He will heal us anyway.  Because that is grace.

And if we are to be like Him, if we are to love like Him, our command is to extend that same grace to others.

And the grace that we extend to others will turn our tears into songs of praise!

And He will bring us peace...

August 11, 2018 Our prayer for our loved one today:

Isaiah 57:18-19 NLT
[18] I have seen what they do, but I will heal them anyway! I will lead them. I will comfort those who mourn, [19] bringing words of praise to their lips.May they have abundant peace, both near and far," says the LORD, who heals them.

Oh Lord, we come before you today knowing that you are omnipotent are sovereign.  You know everything about us.  Where we sit and where we stand.  And Lord, we know that You see EVERYTHING we do.  Yet Lord, you continue to love us, to cherish us, to bless us.  Lord, we thank you today for this assurance....that in spite of our rebellion you promise to heal (our loved one) and you will lead (him/her).  Lord, I thank you that You will bring (our loved one) to a place of rest in You.  Lord, thank you that when that time comes You will comfort (our loved one) and You will comfort each of us who have loved and prayed and mourned for (him/her).   Lord, thank you that you promise to change our tears to words of praise; change our worries, fears and anxiety to abundant peace!  Lord, we THANK YOU that you are trustworthy and that You will keep Your promises!  We pray this today in Jesus precious name.  Amen

Light and Hope

Mornings are always a time when I reflect on all the good in my life, all the blessings that our gracious God has lavished on us.  And it’s always a time for me to pray those blessings over others.

As you pray this prayer for your loved one today, know that I am praying it over you all.

[4] May he grant your heart's desires and make all your plans succeed. [5] May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God. May the LORD answer all your prayers.

Lord, in dark days, in hard times, it’s difficult for us to see light and hope.  Lord, we thank you for your words of truth that we can rely on even when we can’t see through the dark.  Lord we come to you today heavy and burdened, in this time of trouble and ask that you answer our cry. We pray that when (our loved one) cries out to you, you will hear (his/her) cry.  We pray you keep (our loved one) safe from all harm.  We ask that you send (him/her) just the right help in the right time and that you strengthen (our loved one) as only you can.  We pray that you will grant (our loved one) (his/her) heart’s desires, the passions and dreams that you put inside (him/her)  and that you will make all of those plans succeed.   Lord, we believe with our whole heart that one day soon we will shout for joy, because of your victory in (our loved one’s) life and we will raise a victory banner in the your precious name.  Lord, we agree that one day soon we will share in the joy of these answered prayers that we ask in your son’s holy name.  Amen

I Am With You

A simple promise..

He is always with us, watching over all of us.

And He WILL bring them back to us one day.  His love will lead us home.

Genesis 28:15 NIV
[15] I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you. ”

Father God, we come before you today confident that your word is truth and that you will never leave us and never leave (our loved one).  Lord, we pray that you will be with (our loved one) today and that you will watch over (him/her) wherever (he/she) may go.  We believe that one day you will bring (him/her)  back to "this land" - to us...to (his/her) family, to those who love (him/her).  Lord, we believe today that you will not ever leave (our loved one) and that you will do what you have promised, that your love will lead (him/her) home.  Lord, we trust in your words this morning.  Lord we ask that they would give us peace.  In Jesus Name we pray!  Amen.

It Willl Not Be Overdue

As we walk through fear and doubt and hopelessness our armor is to keep His promises in front of us.   While we can't see it, he is creating a beautiful tapestry in each of our lives.  The finished product won't be revealed until we meet him face to face. But be assured that what may look ugly to us right now, will come together in the end to be something incredible.   I believe with all my heart that God will use all of this pain, all of the knots, all of the insanity for something very beautiful.

August 8, 2018 Our Prayer for Our Loved One Today

Habakkuk 2:3 TLB
[3] But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day!

Lord we come before you today worried, fearful, anxious, doubting.  What we see around us doesn't always reconcile with your love.  So we question.  But your word gives us confidence.  Your word says that you are working behind the scenes right now in (our loved one's) life.  That even though we can't see your work yet, that slowly, steadily and surely the time is approaching when the vision for (our loved one) will be fulfilled.   And because of your promises, Lord, we will not despair because we trust that these things will come to past in our life and in (our loved ones) life.  Help us to be patient as we walk this difficult journey waiting, trusting, believing that the moment, that moment when (our loved one) says “yes, Lord” will be in your perfect timing and will not be overdue a single moment.  Lord we honor your promises and rest in them today.  In Jesus precious name we pray.  Amen.

A New Creation

Not long ago I was talking to a mom, so much like myself.  Where the deep wounds of our past drove us to behave a certain way in the here and now.  Needing love.  Needing control.  Needing justification.  Needing validation.  Needing to atone for the sins of our past or the sins that were perpetrated on us in our past.

Because we didn’t believe that we were worthy.

Because we didn’t believe that we could be completely healed.

Because we didn’t believe that we were “enough.”

But in Him, my friends..you are more than enough.

You have been made new!  Nothing in your past justifies OR holds you back.

If you want to be completely free, believe this one thing today.

You have been made new!

August 7, 2018  Our prayer for our loved one today:

2 Corinthians 5:17,19 NLT [17] This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! [19] For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.

Oh Lord our Lord, what a glorious God you are!  You have given us an amazing gift.  The gift of new life in You.  We pray today for this revelation in (our loved one).  Because of your death on the cross, we believe that (our loved one) can become a new creation through you.   (His/her) old life will be completely gone and (his/her) new life will begin.  What a day that will be.  Lord, for those of us who love you and have already received this gift, we request of you today that (our loved one) would once and for all be reconciled with you. We believe this day of reconciliation will come in your perfect timing and ask Lord that it would come quickly.  Lord we thank you for your gift of rebirth through Christ!  In Jesus name we pray.  Amen!

I Belong to the Lord

Isaiah 44.  I heard it as clear as if it were my husbands voice in the room.  Isaiah 44.  Wait…what?  I was completely alone, sitting on my precious chair, with my even more precious coffee cup next to me.  And again….Isaiah 44.  I had heard stories of people hearing the voice of God.  It talks about that in the Bible…you know Saul literally falling off of his horse because God spoke to him.   I know God can do this, but it had never ever happened to me.  At that moment,  I had no other choice but to open my Bible to Isaiah 44 and this was the promise that God gave me.

I believe whether he says it out loud to you or not, His promises are for ALL of us.  This promise is for you my friend.  And when we are walking through the valley of the shadows, the ONLY thing I have complete assurance in is that His promises are true and for each one of us, for such a time as this.

Hold on today, dear sisters and brothers.  It will get better.

August 6, 2018  Our prayer for our loved one today:

Isaiah 44:2-5 NIV
[2] This is what the Lord says---he who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you: Do not be afraid, Jacob, my servant, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen. [3] For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. [4] They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams. [5] Some will say, ‘I belong to the Lord’...

Lord we honor and glorify you this morning knowing that you created each of us perfectly and wonderfully.  We thank you for forming (our loved one) in the womb and for your desire to help (our loved one).  We pray that you cast out all fear that (our loved one) may have today because You have chosen (him/her).  Lord just as only you can poor water on a thirsty land and create streams of water through a dry ground, we believe that You will poor our Your Spirit on (our loved one) and rain blessings down on (him/her).  Then (our loved one) will spring up like grass in a meadow, like a poplar tree by a flowing stream.  We believe that in that moment (our loved one) will say "I BELONG TO THE LORD."  We eagerly await that day and will not stop praying until it comes to pass.  We thank you for your faithfulness and power in our lives.  We pray this in Jesus Name!  Amen.
