It is so important for us to not loose sight of the things we have to be grateful for. Gratitude changes a heart. When I am struggling to see the good in my loved one, see good in my circumstances or see good in the world, I can pause and set my thoughts on the many things I am thankful for.
When we have gratitude in our heart it is impossible to be bitter or angry or selfish or rude.
It will instantly fill me with love for the people in my life that are sometimes hard to love.
So today's prayer is a prayer of gratitude, asking for nothing, but thanking Him for all the good we have in our lives.
September 7, 2026 Our prayer for our loved one today:
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV [16] Rejoice always, [17] pray continually, [18] give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Lord, today is a difficult day for many of us. For most, there is an empty seat at our tables and in our hearts. We know of no other way to get through the difficulties then to press in to you and give thanks. Today we rejoice, rejoice in the loved one you gave us and in [his/her] precious life. Lord, we give thanks. We give thanks for choosing us to be [our loved one's] family. And Lord, we will pray continually until [our loved one] is home and fully alive in Christ Jesus our Lord. We thank you Lord that we have a God we can come to who hears our prayers and who gives us the power and strength to walk through this day. We pray today in your Son's precious name. Amen

Friends, God is in the business of performing open heart surgery.
He can take the person you don’t even recognize anymore...
He can take that old, stony heart...
He can take that spirit of oppression...
Remove it in an instant...
And remake us into something completely new.

Ezekiel 36:26-28 NIV [26] I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. [27] And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. [28]...you will be my people, and I will be your God.
Lord, we come before you this morning knowing that you are the great physician. Lord, you took our pain and our infirmities and nailed them on the cross with you. Lord, I pray today that you will perform "open heart surgery" on (our loved one). Lord, we pray today that you will give (our loved one) a new heart and put a new spirit in (him/her). Lord we ask that you would remove (our loved one's) heart of stone and give (him/her) a heart of flesh. Lord, we ask that you put a new spirit in (our loved one) and move (our loved one) to follow your decrees and desire to keep you laws. Lord, we look forward to the day when (our loved one) comes back to you and (he/she) will be your people again and you will be (his/her) God! We are confident in your perfect plan for (his/her) life. He Saved Them
He is a CHAIN BREAKER!
Praying today that the hold of whatever led to the oppression be broken! The grip of trauma, neglect, low self-esteem, mental illness be loosened and gone forever.
Praying for us, that the chains of despair, doubts, grief, anger be BROKEN.
Praying you will be completely wrapped in His crazy, radical love today!

The Time is Right
A former dealer and felon.....now a youth counselor.
A former prostitute....now helps people get into treatment.
A former adulterer...now ministers to the homeless.
A person formally deep in the throes of addiction....now a pastor.
These are the stories of u-turns. The stories of deliverance. These are the stories of real people, after 10, 20 or more years of oppression, being set free.
These are the stories I cling to each day.
Because these are the stories of hope.
September 4, 2026 Our prayer for our loved one today:
2 Corinthians 6:2 Voice
[2] For God says through Isaiah, When the time was right, I listened to you; and that day you were delivered, I was your help. Look, now the time is right! See, your day of deliverance is here!
Father God, we know that your heart breaks when any of your children fall away from you. Lord, we believe that before today you set things in motion for (our loved one), that you already know the appointed time for everything. Lord, we ask that today Your compassion would be upon (our loved one) and that (he/she) would cry out to You. We pray that TODAY would be the day of deliverance for (our loved one) and that You would listen to (him/her) cry for help and set (him/her) free! Lord, we believe Your word is truth. We know that you have a plan and purpose for (our loved one’s) life. Psalm 89:20-24, 26 I have found my servant, David. I anointed him with my holy oil. My hand will sustain him—yes, my arm will strengthen him! No enemy will oppress him; no wicked person will make him suffer. I will crush all his foes in front of him. I will strike down all those who hate him. My faithfulness and my loyal love will be with him. He will be strengthened by my name. He will cry out to me: “You are my father, my God, the rock of my salvation.”
Father God, we give thanks today that you have found your precious child, [our loved one]. Thank you that in your perfect timing you will anoint [our loved one] with your holy oil. Thank you that your hand sustains [him/her] and that your arms strengthen [him/her]. We pray that no enemy will oppress [our loved one] and that no wicked person will ever make [our loved one] suffer. You may be in a dark valley today. In a place where you never expected to be. And you may be asking why. You may be feeling completely alone. You may have fear. You may have anxiety. You may be in a place where you can't stop crying (I've been there).

Let Him comfort you today. Let Him dry your tears. Take your fears and anxiety and put them on His shoulders.

Thank you Lord that you are (our loved one’s) shepherd and in You (he/she) will have everything (he/she) needs for an abundant life. Lord, as I pray that (our loved one) will rest in You today I ask that you quiet (our loved one’s) spirit and refresh and restore (our loved one’s) soul. Lord, I feel today that (our loved one’s) walking through the darkest of valley's, Lord but THANK YOU that you are always with (him/her) and that because of that, I have nothing to fear. Lord, we ask that your rod would protect (our loved one) today. Lord with your staff, draw me and (our loved one) near to you. Lord comfort (our loved one) as only you can. You provide for (him/her) a table, a feast even before (his/her) enemies, to the point where (his/her) cup will overflow with abundance! 1 Peter 2:21-24. This is the kind of life you've been invited into, the kind of life Christ lived. He suffered everything that came his way so you would know that it could be done, and also know how to do it, step-by-step... He suffered in silence, content to let God set things right…His wounds became your healing. You were lost sheep with no idea who you were or where you were going. Now you're named and kept for good by the Shepherd of your souls.
Father God, we come before you today overwhelmed, both with desperation and with hope. We thank you for all we have, knowing that everything comes from You. We thank you that you have invited all of us to step into an amazing life with you. Lord, in our own wisdom, we have no idea how to do this. We are lost. And so is [our loved one]. Yet in you and through you, you show us the way, because you alone are the way. You suffered for us, you took the pain for us. Your sacrifice was so [our loved one] could be completely healed. And He is whispering in your ear today....
"Do not fear. I will redeem your life. I will redeem your loved one's life."

Psalm 88:1-8, 89:1 MSG [1-8] God, you're my last chance of the day. I spend the night on my knees before you. Put me on your salvation agenda; take notes on the trouble I'm in. I've had my fill of trouble; I'm camped on the edge of hell. I'm written off as a lost cause, one more statistic, a hopeless case. Abandoned as already dead, one more body in a stack of corpses, And not so much as a gravestone--- I'm a black hole in oblivion. You've dropped me into a bottomless pit, sunk me in a pitch-black abyss. I'm caught in a maze and can't find my way out, blinded by tears of pain and frustration. Your love, God, is my song, and I'll sing it! I'm forever telling everyone how faithful you are. I'll never quit telling the story of your love.
Lord God, we cry out to you today because you are our last chance! We spend day and night on our knees before you. Lord, we pray on behalf of (our loved one). We ask that you put (our loved one) on your salvation agenda! Lord, take note of the trouble (he/she) is in. My heart knows that (our loved one) has had (his/her) fill of trouble. (He/she) is camped on the edge of hell. Most have written (him/her) off as a lost cause, as one of the statistics, as a hopeless case. Lord, many have abandoned (our loved one) as already gone. They will know that I am Israel's powerful God."
Father God, we come before you today with heavy hearts, feeling lost, feeling alone, feeling like the forgotten ones because we love the forgotten ones. Lord, we look to you for love and comfort. Lord, thank you that your promises bring us hope. Lord, thank you that you will never forget (our loved one). Lord, you created (our loved one) and you have written (his/her) name on the palm of your hand! How wonderful and precious that is! Lord, thank you that you are waging a battle for (our loved one) right now and that you will fight against whoever fights (him/her). He is Close to the Brokenhearted
Some days are just hard...
Expectations unmet, dreams shattered, lives and hearts broken into a million pieces.
And in the middle of all that we try so hard to find some glimmer of light, some glimmer of hope.
And this is the only way that we can walk through this...this promise.
That He is always closest to those that are broken.
Let Him dry your tears today.
Let Him wrap His loving arms around you and comfort your deepest pain.
And try, try to remember that they are aware as well, they are in pain, they are suffering and they are broken, shattered even. They feel guilt. They feel remorse.
Somewhere deep down they know.. So pray this for them. Don't let the pain win.
God hears your prayers for them. God sees their brokenness. And He WILL heal them in his perfect time.
August 21, 2026 Our prayer for our loved one today:
Psalm 34:4,6-7,18-19 NIV [4] I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. [6] This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. [7] The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. [18] The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. [19] The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all;
Lord, thank you that you hear our cries and are close to us when we are broken into a million pieces. Lord, we pray this morning as well that you would stay close to (our loved one) who is brokenhearted and that you will deliver (him/her) from all of (his/her) fears. Lord, we ask today that (our loved one) would call out to you and that you would hear (him/her) and save (him/her) from all of (his/her) trouble! Lord, we pray that your angels would encamp around (our loved one) today and that those angels would deliver (him/her) from harm. Lord, draw close to (our loved one) today, our child who is broken hearted and crushed in spirit. Lord, (our loved one) has many troubles but YOU Lord can deliver (him/her) from them all. Lord, we pray that (our loved one) would cry out for that deliverance today! Lord, we thank you for these promises for our children! We pray these things today in Jesus precious name! Amen!

He Redeems Your Life
While things around us are rapidly changing, God’s word never changes.
Now, more than ever, I am leaning in on God’s promises.
He redeems our lives from the pit...
He heals All of our diseases...
He crowns us with love and compassion...
He renews us!
And what is the requirement to experience all of these things in their fullness?
Surrender.
August 20, 2026 Our Prayer for Our Loved One Today:
Psalm 103:2-5 NIV
[2] Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits--- [3] who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, [4] who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, [5] who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Lord, we come before this beautiful day with praise and thanksgiving in our hearts. Lord, we meditate on all of Your wonderful ways and don't forget any of Your benefits. Lord, we come before You on behalf of (our loved one) as we are confident that Your son died on the cross to forgive all of (our loved one's) sins and to heal (our loved one) completely. I ask today that you redeem (our loved one) from the pit that (he/she) is in and crown (our loved one) with Your perfect love and compassion. Lord we believe that the day will come when the only way (our loved one) will be satisfied is by Your love and (he/she) will come to desire all the good that comes from You. He'll Make Us Beautiful and Whole
The valley of the shadow…
Difficult times for all of us right now.
Yet, as followers of Christ, we believe that this Earth isn't our final stopping point. And we long for the day when wholeness comes to each one of us.
However these words say that we don't have to wait for that transformation. It can happen right here, right now.
Through His power.
Are we waiting to die to live?
That is not his plan for us. His plan is that he can make us beautiful and whole today.
I have experienced this. Through the brokenness I am not the same person. In the shattering, I have been remade. I have been “put together” as I should be.
And I will not stop praying for this to happen to each of us today.
August 19, 2026 Our prayer for our loved one today:
Philippians 3:20-21 MSG [20-21] But there's far more to life for us. We're citizens of high heaven! We're waiting the arrival of the Savior, the Master, Jesus Christ, who will transform our earthy bodies into glorious bodies like his own. He'll make us beautiful and whole with the same powerful skill by which he is putting everything as it should be.
Abba Father....You are a good God. A God who hears us and who delights in us. A God who longs to give us our hearts cry. Lord today agree in prayer that there is so much more to life for us then our minds can comprehend. And so much more life in store for [our loved one] because you have called [him/her] a citizen of heaven! Lord, through the power of Jesus Christ, we believe that you will transform [our loved one] from the image [he/she] is right now, into your glorious likeness. We believe that you will make [our loved one] beautiful and whole by the powerful skill you posses to align everything as it should be. You are in the business of transformation and we believe that even now this transformation is taking place in each of us who whisper Your name. We call this into being through prayer in Your son's precious name. Amen!

Light Has Dawned
No doubt yesterday was difficult for you.
It may have felt as if you were completely alone.
Or maybe you were surrounded by people yet there was chaos and strife.
But as you were there….
So was God in the middle of it all.
And even though it may have felt hard and dark…
Where there is God, there is light.
And light ALWAYS shines through the darkness.
Praying today that His light would lead them home.

Lord, you call into being things that never existed as if they did. Lord, we thank you that You can turn our children's hearts to you with a whisper. Lord, we pray today for (our loved one). Lord we believe that today, even though (our loved one) is walking in darkness (he/she) will see YOUR great light. Thank you that your light will dawn and shine down on those living in deep darkness. Lord, you are the light that will move (our loved one) from death to life. Lord we thank you in advance for this truth to come to pass. We pray this in Jesus name today! Amen.

He Won't Stop
You may feel forgotten by God today. You may feel like He is not paying attention or that He doesn't care.
He does. And He sees no-one as small or insignificant.
Not one of our whispered cries to Him go unnoticed. And He won't tire, He won't quit, He won't stop until He's finished His work in us and in our precious loved ones.
August 17, 2026 Our prayer for our loved one today:
Isaiah 42:3 Msg. He won't brush aside the bruised and the hurt and he won't disregard the small and insignificant, but he'll steadily and firmly set things right. He won't tire out and quit. He won't be stopped until he's finished his work.
Lord, we thank You that You are always present, that You are always aware and that You are in every detail of our lives. Even though we may feel you may be distant or don't hear our prayers, we trust that you hear every faint whisper. We praise you today, that you won't brush aside [our loved one] who is bruised and hurt right now. We believe with thanksgiving, that even though others may have cast [our loved one] aside as small and insignificant You will never disregard [him/her]. And we thank You that You promise that You won't stop until You have finished [our loved one’s] complete rescue. We trust that You are always at work and that You see [our loved one] and love [him/her] deeply. Lord, we believe these promises today in Your son's precious name. Amen

You Protect Me
Today, for some of you reading this, it's hard to simply breathe let alone try to fake it through your day. I understand. I have walked that path.
My prayer for you today is that you will press into HIS light. I PRAY that you will feel his love wrap you up.
And our hearts cry is that our loved ones would somehow, someway, through a divine appointment discover how much God loves them and they would be strengthened by that love.
He has a perfect plan for your life. He has a perfect plan for your loved one's life.
Hold on to the hope of that truth.

Psalm 138:7-8 NLT[7] Though I am surrounded by troubles, you will protect me from the anger of my enemies. You reach out your hand, and the power of your right hand saves me. [8] The LORD will work out his plans for my life- for your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever. Don't abandon me, for you made me.
Lord, today we begin this prayer grateful because we know that we can trust you. Because of your love for us we are always filled with hope. Your word says that in this world we WILL have troubles and today we are surrounded by trouble and (our loved one) is surrounded by trouble. Lord, protect (our loved one) from the enemies that entangle (him/her). We ask that you reach out your right hand and with the power that only you possess, that you save (our loved one). Lord, we believe that you have a special plan for (our loved one’s) life and even now, in the midst of darkness you are working out that perfect plan because of your great love for (our loved one). Abba Daddy, you created (our loved one) perfectly and wonderfully, so we trust that in Your great love. We know you have not abandoned (our loved one) and we wait on You expectantly for our prayers to be answered in Your son's precious name! Amen

Lord, Save Me!
Right now...
You may be in a pit so deep that you can see nothing but darkness around.
It may be so tight around you, you can hardly breathe.
There is no pit so dark that he can’t find you...
No pit so deep that he can’t pull you out...
With a simple whisper...
“Save me Lord”
He will reach down, lift you out and set your feet on a solid rock.
He will do that for you; he will do that for your loved one.

Psalm 40:1-3 NIV [1] I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. [2] He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. [3] He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.
Father God, we come before you today waiting. Waiting for you to do your work in (our loved one's) life. Waiting for you to hear our anguish and our cries. Waiting for you to rescue (our loved one). Lord we pray today that you would lift (our loved one) out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire that (he/she) is in. Lord we pray that you would set (our loved one's) feet on a rock and give (him/her) a firm place to stand. Lord, we look forward to the day when you will put a new song in (our loved one's) mouth, a hymn of praise to You, God! We trust that the day will come when other's will see (our loved one's) recovery and give glory and honor and praise to you Lord! We look forward to that day! Lord, we pray these things today in your son's precious name! Amen!

Light and Truth
These past few months have most likely been very difficult and dark for you.
Sometimes it feels like we are surrounded by muddy waters, feeling like we are downing with no path to air.
But there is a light.
A light that illuminates the path to freedom and safety.
Praying today that light and truth and love floods your lives sweet friends.
Praying today that light and truth will lead our loved one home.
August 13, 2026 Our prayer for our loved one today:
Psalm 43:3 NLT [3] Send out your light and your truth; let them guide me. Let them lead me to your holy mountain, to the place where you live.
Lord God, we believe today that light always shines through the darkness. And you God are light. You have overcome the darkness. Lord today we pray that you would send out Your light and Your truth to (our loved one). Lord we pray that this light and truth would guide (him/her) back to you Lord. We pray that they would lead (our loved one) to your Holy mountain Lord, to the place where you live. Lord we pray that they would lead (our loved one) to a place where (he/she) will find rest and healing in You Lord. Because in YOU there is life. Lord, we believe this vision will be fulfilled in your perfect timing. We wait patiently for you. In Your Son's precious name we pray. Amen!

Walk in Light
Recently while serving our homeless ministry, everyone had this sense. The send that we were in a battle field. The sense that there was a war going on in the heavenly realm.
And there is.
There are always battles going on between good and evil.
God’s word assures us that we do NOT belong to the darkness, we do not belong to the enemy, we do not belong to the night.
We belong to the day. You and I, we belong to the day.
If you are walking in the dark today, that is not God plans today.
The night is gone. Clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord today.
August 12, 2026 Our prayer for Our Loved One today.
Romans 13:12-14 NLT [12] The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living. [13] Because we belong to the day…[14] ….clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Oh Father, we come before You today with anticipation and excitement over the work that You are doing in (our loved one’s) life! We believe that the night, the dark times are nearly over for (our loved one) and that the day (he/she) says Yes!to you, Lord is almost here! We believe with confidence that very soon and in Your perfect timing (our loved one) will put aside (his/her) deeds of darkness, all that is holding (him/her) back in life, and put on the armor of right living! Lord, we pray that (our loved one) would understand that (he/she) belongs to YOU, to the light, to the day and we eagerly anticipate the day when (he/she) comes before your presence to live for you! We CONFIDENTLY claim these promises today in Jesus Powerful name! Amen!

Rescue Me!
They put on this tough exterior. They seem unbreakable.
Even though our loved ones put on this tough "I don't care about anything" act, they are dying inside and they know it. They live in a cycle of guilt and shame. They tell themselves every time they engage in self-destructive behavior, it will be the last time and when they engage in it again and again they have failed in their minds.
Their identity becomes that they are a failure.
And I think they are crying, just crying for help. Silent screams that they think no one hears.
Rescue me! RESCUE ME!!!!
And I KNOW to that we have all cried these words too. We are hoarse from our pleas.
These words....Lord, rescue them today. Don't look the other way. They are hurt and in pain. Come close and get them out of this mess they are in.
But he hears our cries and he will answer. He is always on time and one day… one day our loved ones will sing a new song!
August 11, 2026 Our Prayer for our loved one today:
Psalm 69:1,3,6,13-14,16-18,29-30 MSG
[1] God, God, save me! I'm in over my head, [3] I'm hoarse from calling for help, Bleary-eyed from searching the sky for God. [6] Don't let those who look to you in hope Be discouraged by what happens to me...[13] And me? I pray. God , it's time for a break! God, answer in love! Answer with your sure salvation! [14] Rescue me...Don't let me go under for good, Pull me out of the clutch of the enemy; This whirlpool is sucking me down. [16] Now answer me, God , because you love me; Let me see your great mercy full-face. [17] Don't look the other way; ...[18] Come close, God; get me out of here. Rescue me from this deathtrap. [29] I'm hurt and in pain; Give me space for healing, and mountain air. [30] Let me shout God's name with a praising song, Let me tell his greatness in a prayer of thanks.
Lord, we call out to you today in desperation. We confess that we struggle at times with questions. With unbelief. With a lack of faith. But Lord, we believe that your desire is that not one, NOT ONE of your children should parish. Abba daddy, save (our loved one). (Our loved one) is in over (his/her) head. We know (he/she) is tired and hoarse from crying out for help, weary from searching for you God. We look to you for our hope, Lord. Encourage us by answering our cries for (our loved one). It’s time for a break for (our loved one), answer us in love. Answer us with a sure rescue of (our loved one). We ask that you pull (our loved one) out of the clutch of the enemy. (He/she) is getting sucked down, sucked in. Rescue (him/her) today, because you love (him/her). Let us see your great mercy full-face today! Come close to us. We are hurt. We are in pain. Lord, give us all space for healing. Even in the pain we shout your name and praise you because of your great love. Lord, we believe today in your power and strength. We pray this prayer in your son’s precious name. Amen
